I grew up on a steady diet of milkshakes and french fries. Okay, most meals were eaten at home and cooked by my mother, but my family was fond of "greasy spoon" diners on our many road trips or moves across country. French fries were a reward for enduring painful doctor appointments without complaints or a welcome end to busy weekends at sports conferences (my sisters played soccer and softball, I watched). Today most meals are still eaten at home, although now I cook for myself with a cookbook my mother made and diner stops are a welcome indulgence on dreary days when I'm feeling under the weather. There's still nothing else quite like a well-mixed milkshake and a basket of fresh fries to make everything seem worthwhile.

These photos are gorgeous, we don't really have anything comparable in the UK, there are still some greasy spoon type places but they don't have the charm that I associate with American diners. So pretty! xo
so cute this pics =)

Such a pretty post - I love those glasses :) Now I'm craving milkshakes, though I'll have to make my own!

Yum! I had the most delicious milkshake and fries just the other day. Not exactly the traditional diner version since they were from a Japanese burger place. Nori fries and a green tea milkshake were exactly perfect though.
Love this playful and fun photoshoot!
I grew up on the East Coast, where diners abound. I love a good diner! Now on the west coast, diners are far and few between.
Cute post - wish we had diners in the UK!!

Oh I agree! There's nothing like a shake and fries to take the sting out of even the worst day. Love these photos. :)
This is editorial worthy! And now you have me wanting a shake and fries.
There is something to be said about the charm of a diner. There is also something special about those old diners where you pull up and a waitress comes out to your car. So charming, so yummy!
Where are the glasses from?
@M, not sure. I borrowed them from Jon.
These photos are so cute. That first one is adorable!
I love this entry. Milkshakes and french fries make me feel good too.
Diners give me a reason to live.
Thick cheese slopped between two slices of bread(classic grilled cheese) Strawberry milkshakes and french fries make my world go round!

Those are some great pictures! Trench coat, glasses, pixie cut and diner, it looks like you just pop out from a 60s movies. Love that!
This is just down the hill from our house, how did you come to be in our humble corner of Pennsylvania!
I wish we had such diners in my country and I wish I had a bowl full of fries right now!
