This peach swiss dot dress is one of my favorite vintage finds. I can still remember finding it at a cavernous antique store in Pennsylvania while shopping with my father (my father enjoys shopping much more than my mother!). The man who sold it to me was rather convinced that it would be too short for me to wear and pointed out how the hem could be let down a few inches...I never altered the hem.
I do try to avoid talking about the weather too much here on the old blog, but I must say it has been really lovely lately. It was a very long, very cold winter (made to feel longer and colder by a drafty house that left me wearing a coat indoors!) and it's so nice to see the sunshine and feel warmth again. Such weather does encourage laziness though, as I often find myself unmotivated to do much more than sit in the sun and read...

How gorgeous are these glossy, flowers blooming on Lanvin F/W 2011 collection? I didn't spot them in my first viewing of the runway, so I'm glad I went back for a second look...The airy, softness of the dresses they were paired with were a perfect balance for their weight.

Sometimes it's very hard for me to figure out what to write here. I suppose that it was happens when you record and post your outfit 5 days a week for nearly 4 years--you run out of topics. Everything I start to write seems to repetitive. Shall I ramble about the weather or my obsession with blue which has surged forth once again this spring? And what is there to say about the clothes when they're all pieces I've worn a number of times before?

These collages by Mark Lazenby are really blowing my mind. I find it incredibly inspiring when someone takes a traditional, even juvenile (who was not asked to make a collage in elementary school?) medium and makes it fresh again. So, while we might all have cut up magazines and glued bits back together on paper, there are still miles to go between that self-expression and artwork like this. Sometimes it's not just the technique of the artist, it's the concept.

I've been drawn to more soft shades this spring (pastels if you must, but I rather loathe the term pastels for no rational reason). I've had this dress for quite awhile now and even remixed it before. This is the first time I've worn the dress with such a light jacket and I love how the colors look together. My nude kitten heels from Modcloth complimented the 60s dress and continued the soft tones theme. I also might need to find another spring jacket alternative...as much as I love this denim number, it might be ridiculous to wear it every single day.

I really enjoy out of focus shots and have been making an effort to snap more. It's hard to remember to do them because I change the focus manually and don't edit the pictures afterwards, but I really enjoy the result. As soon as I can convince my friends to model for me I'm going to do a portrait series in this style...
