Velvet dresses, tall socks, and comfy loafers are definitely going to be my fall uniform this year. This dress in particular is going to become a staple--I've been wanting it since I previewed her fall collection in February and was so excited when Nina gave it to me during our studio visit this season. I started wearing it immediately--in fact this outfit (sans socks) was what I wore to fly home in. To me, it's the perfect "comfort" outfit; each piece is easy and unrestrictive, but I also feel most comfortable in pieces that keep me feeling pulled-together.

Cute outfit! I Love it :D
That coat is to die for!
autumnal perfection! lovely dress and those might be the most perfect simple knee socks..
I do keep meaning to get a backpack like this, but I can't find one I like. Also, I love the coat and especially the loafers!!!
I am always drawn to velvet - but it is hard to find velvet dresses that you can wear everyday. Somehow bright red 'new looks' styles don't seem to feel right when I am just off to the library - but this is great!
LOVE these pictures and your outfit too, really cute :)
You look so adorably cozy here! Love the coat, especially!! So pretty! And the gray socks are so perfect with this outfit!
Cute outfit!
I like your shoes!!

It's been too long since I've visited your blog - I absolutely love the new cropped 'do. Suits you big time!
Love those shoes Rebecca! And the dress is lovely, lucky you:)
I love how our redhair goes with autumn colours, don't you love it too? :)

Great outfit Rebecca!! Just curious what are the differnce between paige and penney loafers? I think that outfit would look great with oxfords also.
At first I couldn't even tell it was velvet, I can only image the cozy, great pictures, very nice post!
@Anonymous, oh "by paige" is the name of the brand. The difference between these loafers and penny loafers is the smooth top; penny loafers are always detailed with a diamond-shaped cutout.
And I agree, I can definitely see this look with oxfords. :)
I love your loafers! They look so cute and comfortable :)
This outfit is probably something I wouldn't mind LIVING in all autumn and winter long. <3
I'm obsessed with velvet.
Love your shoes! Makes me want to embroider a pair of velvet loafers right now (even though I'm not much of an embroiderer). :)
This outfit reminds me of the film 'Submarine'
@Helen, ugh! I'm dying to see that film. I hope it comes to Instant Netflix soon. :)
These photos are just beyond perfection:) And the adorable dress with new hair do' is very chic.
Very cute outfit!

Hey! I am so glad I found your blog, courtesy of glamour. You have one of the best fashion blogs I have found to date. This weekend I probably went through at least 30 pages of posts, and I cant wait to go all the way through them all. Also, I love your new hair cut! I wish I could pull something like that off, but I have curly hair.
Great look! Love the thigh-high socks. The more I see of your haircut, the more I am loving it!! A super-sweet look for you.
Oh my god, this is too great. You've convinced me - I MUST get some thigh highs. Also those loafers are to die for!
I love those socks so much! I've been looking for a pair. They look wonderful with your dress.
Those loafers might just be the best thing I've seen in ages. Amazing!
