Kept More For Ruth, Than Pleasure

I'm not very certain what my style is exactly, but I do know many of the elements I often repeat: nipped in waists, full skirts, dresses, etc. It's a good thing to get outside of your comfort zone regularly, even if it is only sartorially speaking. So, here I am abandoning my favorite silhouette and wearing separates. This skirt is the perfect example of pieces I've had for years, but still only worn a handful of times. I really only keep it around for variety! The top is a great summer piece; the open back makes it so breezy. So, here I am departing from all of my comfortable wardrobe options...don't get too used to it.

I think you could wear it backwards, too... as a crop top... but maybe with something underneath?

Definitely a departure; you don't do orange red with big florals... ever.

That's interesting actually, I know I've definitely got more than a few pieces in my wardrobe that I keep around because I feel a little redundant when everything else in my closet is too similar. And like you, I've only worn them a handful of times!

I must say this is actually my favorite of your outfits. So glad you decided to wear something a bit out of the ordinary!

I would define your style as simply fun, and this outfit clearly fits right in! :)

@Florence, thank you! I actually barely ever trim it. I think the key is to not wash it too often and just air dry--no damage from blow dryers/straighters/etc. I don't use product in it other than shampoo & conditioner. :)

I love this departure from your usual style! And actually, I think it's still very you--the vibrancy of the floral top, the added edge of the studded flats. And your hair looks amazing here; you always remind me of those beautiful Pre-Raphaelite paintings. :)
