Guest Blog: It Girl, Rag Doll

Hi everyone! This is Emily from It Girl Rag Doll, pleased to be filling in for Rebecca while she's out traipsing around Europe on her wonderful trip. I don't blame her for not wanting to live blog while she's away, sometimes I struggle with that mentality "do I try to document this moment with my camera, or should I just experience it fully and have the memory?" And as I'm sure you will be snapping photos as well, you chose right girl!
So, back to my outfit, I have to say the maxi, long skirt look has got to be my favorite! I have been wearing long skirts for the longest time, and I'm happy to see them in style now. A long flowing skirt of any length, any print hs got to be one of the easiest things to find at the thrift store. When I was in high school I went skirt crazy, always on the look out for something soft and floral print. Back then I would look for an elastic waist and wear it at my hips. MY HIPS! What a silly girl I was. Then one day I discovered my waist and never went back! I have somewhat of a short torso, long legs, but this makes for me being able to wear cropped tops and high waisted things without it looking like I'm wearing a bra top.
This top I thrifted last spring, It has the best texture to it, it's kind of slinky, but super thick. I love the square neckline with the little nubs, kind of like a faux scallop. The belt I got at this little church thrift store I used to frequent a lot back in high school. Its super 60's and I love the color, and before today I couldn't seem to pair it with anything. But then this outfit was kind of coming together in blues and greys and it was the perfect match! The skirt is thrifted as well, an it's funny cause the last time I wore this skirt was also the last time I saw Rebecca in NYC for fashion week. My shoes are Miu Miu that I got on super super sale from a DSW-like shoe store that was going out of business a few years ago. And my sunnies...I can't quite remember but they are probably thrifted of from a yard sale.

Thanks Rebecca for having me on your blog! I hope you all enjoyed reading! -Emily; It Girl, Rag Doll

Thanks for guest blogging... You look great and I love your skirt! I have the same issue about taking pictures and live blogging, but I think I'd mostly rather enjoy moments in there and then...
