A Deep But Dazzling Darkness

I didn't get bored of wearing black all winter, but now I'm quite ready for a lighter palette in my wardrobe. Despite a growing weariness with black, this does remain my favorite dress. I wore this outfit recently on a trip up to Richmond for a social media conference where I met a couple of awesome local bloggers, ate Southern comfort food with Rich Tong, and managed to see a college friend who is practically an ex-pat. She just spent a couple of years in Taiwan and is headed off to Italy shortly; an interesting life she leads, no?

I love the shape of the skirt on the dress, like it deserves to be twirled in!

I get sad because most of my "chic" clothing in the winter is all dark grey and black... I don't seem to have much clothing with colour in it.

I could take a style cue or fifty from you.

I've been lurking around your blog for such a long time without ever leaving a comment (maybe it's an intimidation factor- I know that's silly), and I guess now I just want to break the silence to say that I truly love that dress.

It never fails to bring a smile to my face whenever it pops up in an outfit post and the many various ways you've styled/remixed it always seem fresh, chic and very you. It truly compliments you in every way. You have such an effortless sense of style.

That dress is both gorgeous and super cool. I especially love the third photo of you standing in the corner, such an effortless look. And your nail lacquer is complete eye candy.

@Meredith, No, I took these pictures in the moat wall where I live. I was only in Richmond for a day & didn't take any pictures! :)

That is such a cool dress. Every time I see it I want to sew something like it. Maybe you can pair it with some fun spring colors, and bring out the whites/grays on the dress.
