Temperley London

On my last day in New York (it was a short trip!) I stopped by the Temperley London store to do a little mannequin styling with their new Alice collection for a competition. Being released into a store and allowed to pull anything you want is rather like being a kid in a candy store. Thankfully, Erin was with me to snap some pictures, help me dress the mannequins, and give some much-needed feedback. There were a ton of pieces I wish I could have walked away with (hello black cape and blue dress!). The girls from the store were also so sweet and helpful; even when I kept getting confused on the rules and requesting items that didn't exist (how great would knee socks be with the cape look?).
My flight was later that day so my outfit was casual and thrown together without much thought. This jacket is officially my new favorite; you have to love something with a hood.
Now I'm officially in Maryland with family for a little while before the move to Virginia. So, yes I will still be living out of suitcase (7 weeks out of a suitcase so far, another 2 or more to go...). Living out of a suitcase is quite limiting and I'm getting excited to have more variety soon. For fall, I'm really looking forward to colors and interesting combinations thereof. But first I still have a few more posts from Italy to share with you all.

Ooh, are you going to be moving near Northern Va? I know you've mentioned that you are from a military family...so am I. So cool! I love Virginia. Tons of historic military bases! Ooh, and don't forget to check out the military thrift shops.

Ooh, I love the Alice collection! The pieces you pulled are simply breathtaking. I like your easy-breezy travel outfit, too! I just scored a similar jacket from Forever 21 last week... looks just like a vintage one I had from the '80s, so I was pretty psyched. Looks great with your UO dress and Seychelles! Your pictures here remind me of my retail days... the one thing I really enjoyed was styling and pulling looks for the mannequins. I even liked steaming clothes! But the mannies sure are a pain to dress and undress... so heavy... ugh... Still, looks like you had great fun here!

Hope you enjoy your time in Maryland and good luck with the move to Virginia!

Love how you styled those mannequins! I hope you win your contest! I'm also just loving the Alice by Temperley line - so many cute pieces.

I hope the rest of your travel goes well - I'm impressed with your ability to live out of a suitcase for so long!

What a fun little competition! Your outfits turn out quite cute. I bet it was a dream to choose out pieces no matter the cost.

I love your outfit! You wouldn't happen to have a link to that jacket would you? Or brand? I have been on the hunt for a leather bomber like that for ages and my birthday is coming up. ;o)

I'm a little sad that you won't be in Washington State anymore, but I'll get over it. :-)

That ruffled blouse is great with that military jacket!

Such a cute jacket. Hooray for hoods!
Also like the sandals very much, i'm becoming a fan of Seychelles :)
The rings from the post above are verrry pretty. It seems amethyst is my birthstone too, I didn't know that. The rings would go well with my (also really pale) skin tones too.
I'm so inspired and warmed up by your blog I would almost start a blog of my own :D, maybe some day

that jacket you're wearing is great -- i love the cut.

when do you find out if you won the mannequin dressing competition? does the prize involve one of those pieces you're pining for...?

have a safe trip to VA! moving within the same town is so stressful -- i cant imagine moving across country!
