Roman Holiday

Finishing off my little holiday in Europe (3 weeks in the UK, 2 weeks in Paris) is Rome, Italy. All too soon I will be boarding a plane and heading back to the States and throwing my jetlagged self briefly into the fury that is New York Fashion Week…
First though, I had a few days to pass in sweltering Rome; there were plenty of siestas and gelato consumption.

Outfit details:
Family Affairs dress
Cheap Monday sunglasses
H&M flats
Deux Lux purse

Just a question, but are you "backpacking" through Paris and Italy? I'm just wondering, if you prefer hotels or hostels while vacationing abroad. I have a friend who went through Europe using Couch Surf once. There just seems to be so many ways to do the European vacation thing and I just like to ask one's opinion on what they prefer or suggest.

girlie, all these gorgeous shots of Europa are giving me the worst sort of travel bug. i can't imagine how overwhelming all that history and culture must be. so beautiful, what mankind has created.

You shouldn't feel jet lagged on the way back since Europe is ahead of us.

Oh and @Daily Fashionista- My boyfriend and I did Europe a couple years ago, mainly via couchsurfing, with a hostel or budget hotel to fill in the gaps here and there. I was worried about couchsurfing because I'm so shy but it was BY FAR the best option. You get all the comforts of a home, it's free, and you have the best time. You can hang out with your hosts if they're not busy, meet more people, and get recommendations from a real local rather than a guidebook. Several times we were not the only couch surfers at the places we stayed so we got to meet people from all over the world. I was so glad we did it.

LOVE your shoes, the color is stunning! I want to go back to Italy so bad, looks like you are having an awesome time!

That pop of blue shoes matches the water in the last photo perfectly.

The kick of colour is a great one. I love it.

There's something to be said about dressing fabulously when traveling. Especially when the archetype of the American Tourist is a Sweatshirted, Birkenstocked, Fanny-packed and Map-wielding tub o' lard. So bravo, you look perfectly chic for travel.

I'm seeing your NYFW tweets and it must be extremely exhausting with your current schedule of living out of suitcases in different timezones.

If you read that with a hint of envy, you read it right. :)

Can't wait to read about FW!

XX.
Mae Lu, thereafterish.

Love that black dress! And Rome is so amazing. And just wondering, but do you have any idea what the name of the building is behind the bridge?

@The Daily Fashionista, I prefer hotels but I can only afford hostels! :) It's a mix for me: a suitcase not a backpack (also I was in Euro for 6 weeks, less time and I would have had a smaller bag) and hostels/subletting apartments, etc.

ROme is the most amazing city I've ever been too, this pictures totally transport me to that enchanted city where in the historical center the history seems to be stopped. They say that if you want to come back you have to throw a coin into Di Trevi's Funtain, have you? I did, and still haven't come back, so enjoy it as much as you can!

These pictures are so lovely.
Where did you learn how to take pictures? You're very good.

isn't ROme beautiful. glad you had a lovely european adventure

@Mariana Machado, Thank you and I didn't really learn anywhere, or rather learned via "the school of life." My digital photography skills have just improved the longer I have blogged and I try to apply what I learned in my art classes in highschool for composition and lighting. :)
