Hay Bale Chic

I've been looking for the perfect anorak for early fall weather, but wasn't having much luck. I tried on vintage ones, chain store versions (H&M and Zara), and contemplated a number of online purchases. All the ones I saw in person were too large for me (5'1") and too bulky so they didn't fall right...then I saw this one at Spotted Moth. Thankfully, my sponsor was kind enough to send me it and I couldn't be happier. It's large and loose, but so lightweight and falls nicely; the perfect layer I've been hunting for.
From yesterday's post to today I'm certain it's obvious I'm enjoying having my tripod and rural settings again. It's very liberating and empowering to take my own pictures; flitting around and setting my own schedule and composing each shot without having to harrass someone. Initially I wanted to climb the hay bale for a few pictures, but that plan fell through as I realized how difficult it was! Still, I love the hay bale background and scenic little spot of field and red barn. It's just a typical, pretty, rural American scene...it almost looks fake, no?

It does look like the perfect anorak. I've yet to find one as I have the same problems as you - everthing is too bulky and doesn't hang right.

I've been on the hunt too & think I'm going to make the leap with Urban Outfitters, there's one that has 5 stars all around by almost everyone. The Spotted Moth one looks like a great shade, so I will consider that one as well! I like how you paired it with a bright pink dress.. an unexpected combo!

I got an anorak from Primark a couple of years ago and I still love it. Especially with dresses, instantly toughens them up

I'm loving the photo of your heels and hay together. And that's a lovely shade of anorak.

That is a great looking anorak, it's always hard to know what kind of outerwear to wear this time of year, so looks like you found a good balance between coverage and lightweightedness (?) Love your shoes too!

I love that shoe shot! So clever!

Rural areas are superior for outfit photos. Something about the picturesque landscapes, fresh air and lack of crowds make them perfection.

Oh wow, I am loving the new rural scenery. The green and the red look so good against the background. I think you have a real flair for matching your outfits to the scenery- even if you don't actually intend to do this!

I adore your shoes. I've been thinking about buying a pair of comfortable black heels/edges and never thought to check out Nine West!

I love how subtly the colours in these pictures compliment each other. If it's not a rude question do you dye your hair? I use henna on mine (I'm naturally blonde) but it's not nearly as natural looking as yours!

I've tried a few jackets on similar to this and I've found the exact same problem, which is odd, maybe its my body shape rather than my height. This one looks great on you though. I really hope that there might be some out take photos of you trying to climb the hay bail for us to see in another one of your out take posts haha. This dress is such a lovely colour on you by the way x

These photos are so perfectly composed, your dress even matches the red barn in the background! I love your rural shots...while your Europe shots were stunning, somehow they just didn't feel like you! As usual, these are amazing.

Rebecca, you look so stunning in that dress! I also love that new anorak, fits you perfectly! I'm so glad you're back in the US taking your own pictures again too, it kind of makes me feel a little bit of relief for you because I can totally tell how stressful it must have been!
