Detail Of The Week: Owl Purse

I spotted this owl purse in a market in Florence, Italy and quickly trotted over to the stall for a closer look. My sister saw it at the same time and we nearly had a little tug-o-war over it, but she graciously allowed me to purchase the gem. It's been quite the statement piece and garnered a lot of positive attention at NYFW. It also happens to be the perfect size to carry my camera and the straps can be switched to make it an across the body bag or a backpack (the latter style I highly doubt I will ever utilize). Since everyone has been raving about the purse, I thought I'd feature it in a detail post.

I'm impressed by the level of detail in it - I love the embossed "feathers." Very cool.

It's really, really amazing. If I was your sister we would have fought to the death over that thing. (Btw I probably would have won because I friggin' love owls and I have a really mean left hook.)

Amazing!! I'm totally in love with it! Was it the only one available at the market, and where was that market? I'm going to Florence in two weeks that's why :)

So cute! Looks really well-made too, so hopefully it will have an owly long life :) I almost got a new purse today at a flea market for free, but then had too much other stuff to take it. Well, maybe someone else will be happy with it.

Cheers,

The details are amazing! Is it leather? If so that makes it even more amazing. I've always regretted not trying harder to buy more things in Florence. Seems everyone who comes back from there comes home with the most amazing things.

It's absolutely exquisite! The details! Best example of how everything gorgeous doesn't have to cost a million bucks!

Anyw, I got to salute you! You can still wear the cardigan you had when you were 6?! That's amazing! You always look so sweet; and your grandma's place (i.e. that patio) looks so perfect!

@Maura, I guess they're cheaper in Florence b/c I definitely didn't spend 50 Euro...more like half that. :)
