Cambridge: An Asylum In Every Sense Of The Word

It was so nice to find a quiet area in nature for some picture-taking here in Cambridge. I really hate posing for the camera when someone else is wielding it and not being able to control the angles and composition drives me wild as well. So, lugging my tripod along for most of the day and finding a nice spot relatively free of pedestrian and cyclist traffic was such a relief.
Cambridge itself feels much like a breath of fresh air after crowded and busy London (which is not to say I did not enjoy London). The people are friendlier and the pace seems slower. We are experiencing typical British weather however, which is actually not so different from Washington State weather; both make layers necessary.
Also, as you may have noticed I've been using the same bag every day...I actually only packed one purse and hunted down the most basic one I could find. Grey is a very versatile accessory color and this bag does feature a few cool details (like the zippers on the outside). However, I don't really recommend the brand as I'm finding the quality somewhat lacking. Even with the abuse I put my purses through, I don't usually find loose threads after such a short period of use.

the bag is really pretty, it's a shame that it isn't of a better quality material.

shame about the bag, i agree it's too early for it to start showing signs of falling apart. hope it wasn't a big investment:)

Loving this vicarious vacation I am experiencing through your blog. It is a nice little escape to read your daily posts.

I am the same way about my photos - I picture certain compositions and find myself getting upset when someone takes my photos and they don't turn out exactly as imagined. Although in that case I typically end up with way too many shots because my occasional photographer has quite the eye himself.

Odd about your bag, mine by the same brand has held up surprisingly well given it's light color and the abuse I have put it through. Maybe the different materials?

I'm impressed that you're still finding the time to take outfit photos every day when you're in Europe!
& the bag is nice! Too bad it's not very quality.. :( Maybe you'll find a good one there you can buy if you need to.

You always have lovely outfits, but I just adore the dress in this post! <3
And I totally didn't realize, because I guess I just missed it up until now, that you were from WA! I'm an expatriate to Norway now, but I just moved from Tacoma, I was a nanny on base at Ft. Lewis for years!

Actually, you've always remembered me a typical England girl, I don't care if it's London, Cmbridge or anyplace else, but you do look like one, and it's a compliment ;)

Cambridge does seem to be a bit more of your kind of "place to be" :). I would probably have an anxiety attack or something with all the chaos that goes on in London. I'm planning on going to New York this September for Chictopia10 and I'm quite nervous. I've been to Atlanta and I love it, but New York is 4 times bigger than Atlanta. I hope New York has breaks between the buildings and large vast areas for breathing like Cambridge. Oh, and I'm pretty bad at abusing my purses too.
