Something In A Summer's Day

I just received this lovely little dress from my sponsor Spotted Moth and already I see it as a perfect summer staple. The shape is perfection and I adore the way the stripes change their direction in various places. I actually tried wearing it backwards, because I like the back buttons so much, unfortunately that led to a choking sensation...

Outfit details:
secondhand belt
Miss Sixty heels via Gilt
secondhand rings

I don't think I've worn this blouse without layering it under something yet (one day!), but it has become one of my favorite light layers.

I agree with you - the buttons on the back are just too nice to be hidden away!
Very cute dress :)

It really is lovely! Maybe wear your hair up so people can see the buttons?

How pretty Rebecca! I have a similiar-ish dress from Anthropologie that a similar black and white zig-zag stripe style -- horizontal across the skirt, diagonals at the bodice, a horizontal panel on the back -- only there are corset ties where there are buttons here. It is a little va-va-voom for everyday (it is a faux-corset after all!) but I never thought of layering a blouse underneath it; that may be just the thing to make it wearable during the day for me, so thank you for the styling inspiration :)

I love how you've layered the shirt this time with a different colour, it gives a lovely contrasts & the cream dress makes it a whole lot more summery. Nice stuff :]

Really lovely dress! I really love the back button detail, it's too bad the backwards experiment didn't work out so well

Lovely dress. :) The blouse is really pretty too, though I'd imagine it be really sheer. I've seen a lot of people pulling off sheer tops lately and I've decided to try and make a sheer blouse out of this polka dotted chiffon I found, haha.

Such an adorable dress indeed. I've been meaning to check out Spotted Moth. Ah, when will I ever have free time to do stuff? Haha.
Your hair is looking more vibrant these days. Have you dyed it recently? Either way, it is looking very lovely. You look almost swedish with your hair and lipstick today. :)

You can sport red lips better than anybody I have ever seen.

First off, how do you get your hair to be so perfectly shiny? Secondly, in the post above this I think you wrote "Le" instead of "Les" a couple times? And I actually agree with what the previous blogger Trishna said. You're really lucky, I think, to be able to look good in red lipstick. A lot of people have difficulty with this (me, for instance).

Oh, that dress is completely darling, and really compliments your hair color.

I love the shot that's third from the bottom...it looks like a book illustration.

That dress is so cute (especially the back)! And the Modcloth blouse really is perfect for layering; it gives the dress a completely different feel.
