I don't think I've ever seen Puget Sound such a pretty shade of blue before...perhaps I've never been here with the sun so bright! Washington is usually under a perpetual rain cloud, but recently the skies have cleared and we have been privy to some really beautiful days. Of course, when the temperature does rise in Washington, it gets very uncomfortable indoors and you must get out! I don't know anyone in the state who has air conditioning since it is so rare that we have the need. Last year when it rose to over a 100 and thermometers read in the 90s indoors my family bunked down in our unfinished basement on a mattress on the ground. It hasn't gotten quite that warm here yet this year (and probably won't), but the stuffy indoors still make days down by Puget Sound or out on the range roads much more preferable.

I love this dress so much and since I've gotten quite a bit of wear out of it I just splurged on another Built By Wendy dress. I couldn't resist the sale right now, although the prices are still...pricey.

Huh. I have all three of the Built by Wendy sewing books, and considering the theme of them is accessibility and ease I didn't expect the prices for her clothes to be so high.
They're cute but not worth it, in my opinion. (Especially because she tells you how to make them yourself!)

I tried swimming in that beautiful puget sound a few days ago when it was in the mid to upper 80s, and it was not very pleasant, no ma'am.
That is my favorite part about living here. It's almost like somebody dyed all the water in Lake Union and the Puget Sound.
