You know how when you slip into certain items of clothing you feel like a million dollars? Well, this dress from Sweeties Vintage was one of those moments for me. I've raved about velvet before, but really how awesome are clothes made out of fabrics that are delicious to touch? The structure of the dress is dynamite as well and check out the little zippers in the sleeves.
I styled it two ways; the first is more of a "night time" look while the second is how I "toned down" the dress and wore it for day.

oh i love that dress, it reminds me of a dress that my mum made for me when i was little to go as little red riding hood for fancy dress, only mine was made from corduroy
I agree with Helen!
This dress is very whimsical! I love the zipper detail ... You bring it to life. I'll definitely be checking out her etsy store. Such a great setting too, the trees are a lovely contrast to the red.

I really like the heavy texture of the velvet dress and I love, love the shoes! Ah! They're amazing.
Also - I saw that you've listed Bansky in your inspirations. I just spent yesterday afternoon searching for some of his new pieces in San Francisco and I've got photos of them here if you're interested: http://ryours.blogspot.com/2010/05/art-hunting.html

That red dress is breath taking! You just can't find the construction of vintage anymore, unless you buy designer which lord knows most of us can't!
You are definitely one of the best dressed girls on the internet, with some of the best photos, too!
you look so good in red! it really brings out your eyes, and paired with those tights is so classic! love it!

That dress looks great on you and I love how your nail polish matches it. I love the first picture as well.
girl this dress was MADE FOR YOU.
oh dear Ilove the colors of these photos!
The shape of the dress is just beautiful. Does it have just bust darts or full length princess seams?
I love the daytime look. I hate that velvet is usually for nighttime...I have a love affair with soft things and wish I was daring enough to wear velvet during the day!
So pretty Rebecca! The dress was made for you, but I have to say that my favorite part of this outfit is the shoes, they are so fun.
Cute dress, and those lighting bolt shoes are adorable!

ah! this is perfection! love it.
oh you're right, velvet is the most delicious fabric. so, so comfortable.
what a fantastic dress!
This just may be one of my favorite outfits I've ever seen you in. What a perfect red dress... it looks very versatile as you demonstrated with the night look/day look. Of course, it looks fantastic with your hair color and red lipstick. The cut of your black jacket looks great against the red... and that necklace is somethin' else!
Divine! Like a decadent wearable piece of Red Velvet cake! Love the details in the accessories, too!
Such a cool photo shoot, i love that first shot!

Red looks amazing on you !
Beautiful photos! They feel very whimsical, even though you've got strong color going on. I feel like I should be looking into the corners of those pictures for other fashion-forward pixies. Nice styling!
Gorgeous photos! That dress is so amazing on you! I have a couple of velvet dresses, and I really love the old-timey vibe and sumptuousness of it, but ... I'm not really a sweaty girl, but damn if a velvet dress doesn't make me sweat like crazy! Perhaps I'll have to limit my consumption to things that do not cover my top half....
i like the first pic
Love these photos, the scenery was a great choice for the red dress, really makes you stand out.
By the way, I thought you might be interested in this post because I know you said you loved old childhood photos. http://butterflycupcakesanddaffodils.blogspot.com/2010/05/hippy-child.html

Absolutely adore this outfit - lovely!
I love it when people do creative composite photos. Good one, Rebecca!
This dress makes you look like Audrey Hepburn. I know it's random, but that's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the first photo.
That necklace looks so interesting, it's pretty cool. And I love the asymmetrical zip jacket, I really want a cardigan like that.
Really regretting fallig behind on my blogreading, I have too many wonderful posts of yours to catch up on. those photos of you poking out behind a tree? Way too cute.
