I have another little Orbit gum inspired outfit to share; it actually isn't the first time package design has affected me. I often find myself enjoying the packaging nearly as much as the contents and would really like to collect empty, vintage perfume bottles one day--that is packaging at its absolute best and the little bottles could even be reused to hold fresh flora.
Onto the present and this design and outfit: I really enjoy of abstract shapes that layer and interact with each other forming new shapes; they’re so deceptively simple and completely enthralling to me. Even the way the top layer of the image differs from the bottom layer intrigues me. The concentric circle design seemed to echo the rosettes along the hem of my skirt and the lighter circles inspired me to wear a striped shirt underneath my dress. I undid the front buttons to make the dress more jumper-like and a fresh spin on how I wore this dress last.

Love the foldover vegan bag!<3<3<3
I love this, especially the stripes under the dress! So pretty!
packaging is so important! love the color combination here... is it just me or do the shoes actually match your hair?
Again, love the shoes and I would kill for your bag!
i love that dress! the flower detailing is too cute
yes, the shoes and bag do match your hair perfectly! that's what i call co-ordination. i like the colour of your nails too.
I have blogged a lot about drawing inspiration for packaging design from fashion trends (clothing and interior design, Pantone color forecasts, etc) ... but have never thought about it the other way around until today. You are a genius! So happy to see packaging positively affects lives - because we all know putting on an outfit you feel great in can definitely affect your mental health. Rock on!
i adore the blue dress.
Want your dress.
Your clothes are so nice. =(
xx
I love this whole look.
what made me smile about this post is that I have actually started collecting vintage perfume bottles, I only have a couple so far.. love them.

I have that BB Dakota dress! I found it at a TJ Maxx on clearance and I absolutely love it. I've never thought to wear it open like that, I always wear it with a black and white cotton scarf and my hair back in a pony a-la-Mad Men, or with my straw hat a-la-the Kentucky Derby. I'll have to remix it like that next. : )
Loooovess the shoes.
You are so adorable. Blue Nails, dress and gum = awesomeness!
I just adore the fact that you're inspired by gum. And this is such a perfect blue outfit! I love the shadow play in the pictures, too.
You look absolutely gorgeous love :)! Isn't it amazing when things in everyday life inspire us unknowingly? I love this so much!

PRECIOUS. great idea too! i'm totally going to pay more attention to packaging for some fashion inspiration.
Pretty! I am a sucker for well designed packaging as well. I need to find some of this new Orbit packaging - I love it!
so ridiculously pretty.
:)
ohh what a wonderful dress!
great inspiration and execution!
This is kind of unrelated to today's post (although I do love your outfit)...I remember once you wrote that you had your first sip of alcohol at 19, and that you had other "firsts" around the same time, and I think that's really sweet! When I was growing up (a decade or so before you), everyone I knew had their first taste of alcohol in middle school, and ventured into other "adult" activities shortly thereafter. I don't think it damaged any of us; we all grew up to be responsible citizens. But I just wanted to say that it's nice that there's young people who are still very innocent when they get to college. It makes me feel hopeful for some reason. Sorry for the random babble. Just wanted you to know I think you are awesome :)
You are just too cute! I love this outfit.

I love the colour clashing of your outfit colours & your hair colour - such a pop! That saying, I also really love the layering of blue-on-blue. It's refreshing to see!
Gorgeous bag!

Oh sigh, I've been sorely absent in the commenting of blogs -- do forgive me! But I'm glad to see you're keepin' it freshy-fresh. I do the same, finding odd inspiration in things. I'll look at the stamp at the bottom of a cork of champagne and decide, I'm going to put together an outfit for a stroll in Paris -- and I've never even been to Paris. But a girl can dream.
You're a pretty package. Orbit is the only kind of gum I'll buy.
I love those shoes so, so much!

Honey I wouldn't be surprised if they snapped you up in a second to use as their advertising campaign.
Love it again.
I really like how you made horizontal stripes work here! So dainty.. would you care for a cup of tea?
I love your orbit appreciation! Aha, it's pretty clever of you to do these wrapper inspired outfits.
Love this!
And so fun that a packet of chewing gum inspired you.

That dress is SO pretty, I love the details on the bottom and blue really is one of my favorite colors! Not to mention those shoes.. <3
You look great!
That's so clever, I'm always looking at blogs like yours for inspiration, guess I should be taking more time to look at all the other lovely funky things around for outfit ideas!
Oh this is sooo cute! and that bag is so perfect
i hadn't really viewed gum packages as inspirational, but now i see them in a whole new light! you must have a very keen knack for art, if that made any sense. :)
The gum packages are so pretty! I bought the melon mint one, it's pink and green. but that's really cool that the gum packages match your outfits :)
You look perfect in shades of blue.
Love this outfit. I swear you always inspire me to consider layering things I would never think to layer.
love this dress, i never wear blue as it emphasises my hair colour too much which sounds weird but maybe i'll consider blue things more, they're always on my immediate avoid list
