Crimson And Clover

Climbing trees and attempting to get in a good position for a picture in the 10 second self-timer window is difficult. Perhaps I secretly like the trials, because I keep devising implausible places to take outfit pictures? I really do enjoy climbing trees although I haven't done it enough recently (and I would never normally attempt to do it in heels).
I recently received a sweet little package from Toujours Toi Family Affairs and my favorite item inside was this dress. From the front it is a simple, well-cut black dress, but then you turn around and there's this stunning and interesting back. The straps are adjustable and can be tied a number of ways, although I haven't really done much experimenting with them yet! I really look forward to wearing this piece a lot this summer when the days of sunshine and warmth arrive...or I hunt them down elsewhere.

Outfit details:
Neneee cardigan
Thank You Mart socks
Seychelles booties
filigree ring via Gilt

This is my favorite cardigan in my closet and my mother keeps threatening to steal it from me because she likes it as well! Here's a few ways I've worn it in the past.

Get a camera remote, you crazy cat ;] I do adore your devotion to your outfits photos, though! Don't give up the tree climbing.

Haha, I feel like I keep finding impossible places to attempt my outfit shots w/ the 10 second timer too. I refuse to buy a remote though.
That dress looks so versatile, I can't wait to see how you remix it!

Darling dress! I understand the timer thing..and I've got to find a good tree to climb so I can try that challenge, lol. Awhile back I took pix standing on the hoods of some of my dad's vintage vehicles, and climbed up in a skirt in heels in the ten second window, so I can relate! It was kind of a fun challenge though :D I see someone recommended a camera remote..hmmmmm..but then no thrill..haha

Anyhow, you always have awesome pictures!

that dress is adorable! totally reminds me of a mullet... in a good way! "business in the front, party in the back" lol

i definitely agree with the comment about getting a wireless remote. you can probably snatch one up for less than $20 (i think i paid about $16 for mine).

yeah remotes are so worth their monet. mine was about £12. i love your braided hair, i really need to try that out.

Oh I love that cardigan!

And haha I love that you can climb a tree and pose that fast. I recently got a remote because the self-timer seems to make me panic and freeze, but now I have to work on hiding it in my hand!

Love that cardigan. Makes me want to do a diy. You could so easily have TWO great cardigans like that! Give one to your best friend and bam! you could totally dork it up! (I don't know if you would, but I would!).

I love your cardigan! And my friend says her mother has shoes just like those, but that they're pretty uncomfortable.

Oh, and it's good to hear someone else has problems with the ten second timer.

I love that cardigan as well! I keep hoping Neneee will list more in her shop haha Also, I don't know if this is a strange question but what kinda bra do you wear with a dress like that? I have a few backless/cut out back dresses that I recently aquired and I'm having a hard time finding something to wear under it. I know Victoria's Secret has a 89073232 way thing but they don't carry it in stores and I'm hesitant to order it online without knowing if it would really be the right bra. Sorry if this is a weird question!

i wanted to say that i love your blog,
and i wore milkmaid braids today and everyone adored my hair at school,
i must admit, i was initially inspired by maude (harold & maude), but your tutorial helped me master it
my way of doing it was much more difficult...
but today it worked swell, so thank you!

The new dress is brilliant! Also love the sweater... I'm still scouring my local thrift shops to find two identical sweaters in different colors so I can chop-shop them and try a little DIY. Lovely post, as always!
