Flashback Friday

the clothes horse, childhood photographs, retro, flashback friday
I've really been enjoying some of the childhood pictures people I follow have been posting, so I decided to post some of my own. Is it wrong that I wish I still fit into a lot of the clothes that I had when I was little? If you're wondering which one is me: I'm always the shortest one. Judging from the images I apparently didn't know how to smile properly until I was around eight...And since people ask this a lot: my hair was blonde when I was little and it just gradually got darker as I got older.the clothes horse, childhood photographs, retro, flashbackthe clothes horse, childhood photographs, retro, flashbackthe clothes horse, childhood photographs, retro, flashbackthe clothes horse, childhood photographs, retro, flashback

Rebecca...you've been to Stonehenge? Come back to the UK!

You look so adorable in these photos, I didn't realise you were one of three...me too, except I'm the oldest!

You can still totally tell it's you! And I know exactly what you mean about old clothes. I look back at all my pictures from when I was little and get so jealous of my small self.

Here's a post I did with old pictures of me. :)

gosh you were just a little cutie!! Adorable. I so totally would wear that bunny sweater!! And I WISH I had pics of when I was little. It was all before the advent of digital cameras and so I would have to steal the pics from my mom and get a scanner! (though if I ever do so, I'll let you know!)

Oh dear! You're adorable!!!! It's crazy how so many kids go from being platinum blond to dark haired..

I love looking at old photos too. I have so many inappropriate ones where I'm dressed like a 40 year old or I'm flashing everyone my underwear. But now you've inspired me to scan some of them and post them!

oh man, you are such a cutie pie! i especially want to pinch you in that second pic with the face paint and blue/green eyes.

it's so neat and kinda weird how your gradually got darker as you got older. my hair was black as a child; now i can see highlights of dark auburn appearing with age. okay, okay. i'm gonna stop talking about hair now :P great post!

whoops! how your *hair got darker, i mean

Oh my goodness you look exactly like me when I was little! And my name is Rebecca too! So weirdddd. I had a short little "wedge" haircut (that's what my mom called it) for a little while too! Only if you had brown eyes, then it would have been an EXACT match. Haha.

haha you look very cute, and i love the cloth that my mom made me wear when i was little too!

My absolute favorite picture of me as a child was taken at my second birthday party.
I have a can of beer in my hand, and cake frosting on my finger that makes it look like I'm holding a cigarette. Just a 2 year old, drinking a beer and smoking, no big deal.

I posted one before, they are so fun to go back to, aren't they?
I love how this photo shows how much I adored dresses, even as a little girl. Ever own a pair of black patent leather maryjanes? they were my FAVORITE.

I love childhood pictures too!

My whole family says that I'm such a ham now because my mom would spend hours taking pictures of me growing up. And there's proof: we have crates and crates of pictures with ONLY ME at home. It's quite ridiculous.

I'll have to try and get some posted when I go home for the summer....

I absolutely love your blog and I've followed it for a while, but I've been a little too shy to comment before.

...but I posted some pictures of my little sister and myself. My fashion was definitely of the princess variety, until I hit middle school and went through a regrettably bad tomboy phase that included high waisted jeans, polo shirts, and Harry Potter glasses. I didn't add any of those pictures, though. I wouldn't want to force that upon humanity...

In any case, um, have a blog entry of random childhood pictures!

It's not wrong at all...I would do anything to have my pre-school graduation dress (which I picked out for myself at a church rummage sale) in my size, right now.

I love the red, white and blue striped dress of yours with the red knee highs, so cute!!

I remember seeing some other "little clothes horse" photos a long way back. Such a little button! and btw, amazing outfits!

My sister and I both had that same bowl-ish hair cut for years! hehe. my hair was also very blonde until grade school.

I love these insights into your life. It makes me feel as if we really are friends! :)

It's definitely interesting to see how dramatically different you looked as a child, than you do from your current state. It's a big change, but the same essence of shy, secret smiles and happiness behind your eyes is definitely there in the old pictures as well!

XO

Mae, thereafterish.

PS. I love all the street art and the graf you put up from JERM IX... it's pretty damn awesome, actually. My husband is a former graf writer, so I'm always fascinated by that world.
