Sunlight Is Painting

While I was in NYC I managed to stop by the Built By Wendy shop to coo over their pieces in person. I'm a very tactile person, so it was really nice to be able to feel the quality in the fabrics (which isn't apparent when browsing an online shop). Even on sale the prices seemed out of my range...however, when I got my first letter of acceptance to law school I decided to celebrate with a little splurge. With a vintage fur collar (which I found for super cheap) pinned on my favorite jacket, the folksy dress, and patterned tights: I feel very Anna Sui. It's the sort of outfit I would have admired a year ago and felt too self-conscious to wear out...so, I guess this is progression.

Isn't it amazing how we can look back at ourselves and see how much we've progressed in how we dress? I mean, not to mention our evolution in character, but I think that a certain confidence shows when we're able to step out of the house wearing something bold. Like that fur collar with those tights! Lovely. :)
