Thunder Only Happens When Its Raining

If it appears moody in many of my pictures it is because it is raining: and I mean that it was raining when I took them and just about every minute between then and now has been wet as well. It is a world of grey out there. I had to continually wipe the lens...
Enough whining about the weather! Several people have inquired about my nail polish. Right now I am wearing a matte grey by Knock Out. It was actually a polish that I received on my last trip to NYC and it has definitely become one of my favorites. I am completely addicted to matte despite only having two matte varnishes. I would really like to try out the matte black and white as well, but unfortunately the cost is slightly preventative. I am quite the fan of nail polish (as many people have noted), but I'm rather cheap with them. An easy way to stretch your polish and try new colors is to mix fresh shades with polish you already own.

Outfit details:
vintage feather fascinator
Urban Outfitters jacket
vintage dress
Fred Flare tights
boots from some shop in Greece
Knock Out matte nail polish

I absolutely love that last picture-- it sorta reminds me of that famous painting where the man is atop a mountain looking out into the hazy abyss.

But I'm always afraid that you'd fall into the water! you're so close!

What a perfect dress to make a drab day a little more exciting. I especially love the detailing.. ugh and I wish I could wear nailpolish.. Starbucks is against it! Why?!

I don't know how you find vintage dresses that fit you in all the right places! I never have such luck and I think we're about the same size! If you're ever in London, we'd have to go shopping together!

I happen to love the feel, the whole ambiance of rainy days, and you look just adorable pondering out there with the puddles and raindrops.

(I happen to love your hair too! We pixie-cut gals sometimes yearn for 'long enough locks' to wrap around in a chic little bun!)

Oh-so-pretty as always.

its hard when you live in a weather centric city - in vegas when it isnt blazing hot, were usually pretty chilly. theres only a window around spring break and fall when its sort of nice. you just accomodate life to the weather

I love the look of matte nail polish! You should try Essie's matte topcoat, you can put it over any colour to make it matte, it's about $10 so it's not really cheap but it will save you the cost of buying a bunch of matte colours.

Yech I hated the rain when I was going to school in WA. I've traded it for the snow in MA, I'm still trying to figure out which is less depressing.

I love this mood. You enkindle my longing to live in the wilderness I've never been out to the Northwest, but I'd love to see it. Grey can get you down, it's true, but at least your photos always have a certain something, don't they? I love this dress, too, and your hair.

these photos were reminding me of something and i couldn't quite figure out what. tess of the d'urbervilles i thought at first but no. they remind me of rebecca by daphne du'maurier. isn't that funny? i had the images from hitchcock's film in my head trying to place which one and it turned out to be the one of your own name. i read it just after high school at my english teacher's recommendation. if you haven't read it or seen either the hitchcock or the masterpiece theater version i suggest you seek them out!

I'm so over this constant gloom and doom weather too! And, I've never tried this, but I've heard that an easy trick to making non-matte nail polishes appear to be is to apply a coat of your typical base coat on the top. It should cut out the shine.
