Thou Art To Me A Delicious Torment

Antique malls aren't the ideal location to find vintage clothes, but hidden between odd chairs fashioned from horns and utensils you can't even begin to identify, you might just find an amazing vintage shoe with a spring for a heel or a sequined cap with antanae-like attachements. They truly put the "hunt" in vintage clothes hunting, but it is an enjoyable way to spend the day when the weather's nice and you've got a willing companion. Despite my recent adventures into half a dozen antique malls in a single day I have only aquired two vintage hats and neither are pictured below. What I really would like to discover is a vintage globe at a reasonable price, but those are few and far between...
I'm wearing OPI matte white nail polish which was a gift from The Style Rider in honor of my birthday a few weeks ago. She sent me this and an awesome black matte nail polish that I am equally eager to try out. The white nail polish takes me back to my senior year of high school when I was obsessed with white polish, but I like this varnish even better. It looks like I'm wearing white-out on my fingers.

Outfit details:
UO jacket and purse
H&M dress and tights
Thank You Mart socks
Jeffrey Campbell heels
Village Idiot necklace
OPI matte white gift from The Style Rider

oh my goodness. spring heel shoes?? amazing! I love that globe so much. I want one just like it! Maybe when I don't have a tiny one bedroom apartment, I'll have room for one! :)

I really love this outfit. So cool and casual. I, too, want an antique globe--one with all the continents messed up (before they knew what was what) would suit my lovely (though be horribly expensive I'm sure!

Now I am ever so desirous to go check out the antique stores today! I shall have to ask my baby if he is up to it!!

Love the white nail polish, I've never tried but it looks really pretty. Here is very hard to find a decent vintage store there are only a couple of them. xo!

I am in love with the shoes and socks combination; I've been such a sucker lately for socks + heels/sandals (but then again, who isn't?!).

Obtaining a vintage globe does sound like a commendable feat but it'd be oh so cool if you got one. I think it'd really "smart" up a room, haha...ooh, especially if you had a personal library!

I need to figure out where there is an antique mall close to me. Looks like a pleasant way to spend the afternoon, even if everything is overpriced.

Ah I love antique globes! They remind me of adorable grandfatherly old men, dusty books and cozy studies.

Rebecca, it looks wonderful! How did you manage six antique malls in a day? It sounds exhausting but also must of have loads of fun. I've yet to venture into an antique mall, mostly because I'm deathly allergic to dust and cats, both of which seem in plentiful abundance in antique stores. Your shoes are super fly, I'm really liking your shift toward black and mysticism! (Have I mentioned that my boyfriend sort of maybe studies mysticism?)

Wow I've never been to an antique mall but they sound fascinating! I really love your hat, and I love how you wore socks over your tights and heels! I think I'm going to have to try that some time :)

i am obsessed with opi. i worked in a makeup store the summer before jr year, and a large portion of pay check went to building up my polish collection.

ps my boyfriend and i had our first kiss in an antique store - they hold a sweet significance for me.

a shoe with a spring heel? Haha, that's so crazy cool - surely it must add a spring to anyone's step ;)
The antique mall looks awesome, and I love your photos. We have something similar here, but there's a "no photography" policy in store, which bums me out because I love the sight of vintage knick-knacks.

I love that cow horn chair. I saw some very similar furniture while at El Rancho motel in Gallup, New Mexico. That entire hotel was decorated like that. It's a pretty awesome place.

love this! we have the coolest vintage shop in oxford, it's literally like a treasure cave, with clothes just PILED on rails, you literally have to dig to find stuff - it's fairly amazing though. am usually too scared to go in, but I'd love to have a proper dig one time xxxx

You're do lucky to have antique malls to rummage through. Those spring heels are brilliant! They remind me of a friend whose father, when they were young, fashioned them some shoes with springs attatched for a bit of playtime fun!

oh my, i love that globe stand! i've always wanted one of those.

antique malls sound like a lot of fun. i don't think we have any where i live, sadly.

Those photos are simply lovely. The shop is incredible,i guess you had such a fun time there !

Dance To The Door said...

I love antique malls. There are a lot of them where I live, but I so rarely go because most of them are too out of the way for me.

I used to wear white nailpolish when I was a teenager. Just flat white with no shine to it at all. I don't wear polish on my fingernails anymore, but sometimes I wish I did so I could play with colors like that.
