My Father's Dragon

Aptly named Studio Toogood designs, directs and executes interiors and environments and is responsible for this gorgeous set. The tropical rainforest reminds me of the beloved children's book My Father's Dragon. Deeply saturated tones and detailed prints are making me long for summer and similarily saturated environments.
“When she walked...she stretched out long and thin like a little tiger, and held her head high to look over the grass as if she were treading the jungle.” -Saskya Pandita

From certain angles, this woman has an Audrey Hepburn-ish facial structure.

She really does have the same qualities, too.

These images are beyond amazing. Do they remind you at all of Hawaii? (Excluding, of course, the tiger and the zebra!)

I love the rich saturated tones-- they actually remind me of Rousseau paintings, or even a bit of Frida Kahlo.

Also, I'd love to ride on a pet zebra while wearing bold and bright prints. :)

Oh I love the tiger one. Cannot wait to give my wardrobe a little color injection!

I guess the paintings are inspired by the naive painter Le Douanier Rousseau http://data0.blogy.fr/legrenierdesartistes/mod_article343639_1.jpg

I love My Father's Dragon. We used to read those all the time. The imagery is very much in resemblance of that. Makes me want to pull it out and read it again!

The colors are so vivid. Like from an epic acid-trip or something. I am falling in love with that first dress - and that headpiece is quite unique!

Oh summer, where are thou..

WOW. I just got SUPER excited. Not only are these pictures colorful and just absolutely gorgeous, I LOVE MY FATHER'S DRAGON. Ever since my teacher read it to us in the 2nd grade, I have loved it. I bought two sequels through a book order and always had a ton of fun counting how many tangerines were eaten! :) I suppose the elementary school me longed for adventure as much as I do now. Aw, love love love!!

Oh these are lovely. The do look like pages out of a children's book. The clothes are gorgeous.

I agree on your comment about models poses today. They look so awfully uncomfortable. I just don't understand it, lol.
