Her Heart Is Black But Her Eyes Are Blue

Inspired by all things mystical is driving my wardrobe in a slightly new direction. This neoteric style is exemplified by my second headpiece by Paisley&Brass, a triple strand wonder aptly titled "the royal gypsy." It is difficult to put to words what is mostly instinctive choices, but perhaps modern, minimalist gypsy would be an accurate characterization of the mood I am attempting to evoke through clothes. Suitable since I planning another move this summer, although the destination is still unknown. Pushing myself style-wise is this black, lace Cheap Monday dress from Revolve Clothing; the perfect modern, gothic dress for a wandering spirit.
What I look like each day is clearly a reflection of what I'm looking at and dreaming of...

ooh this dress is so beautiful! i love black lace and i love that right now it's not too hard to find dresses suited for a fairy tale. the addition of the braided headband is great. this whole shoot kind of reminds me of the original 'wicker man' movie. ~joelle

You have the best rings <333
I love the headband, it does veer the look towards a more fairytale one, and the lace detail in the back of your dress is gorgeous!
As always, your photoshoots are amazing as always :)

Oh man, mystical style is where it's at. I have all these cosmic jewelry pieces which may or may not be in bad taste, but I love them... I'm actually wearing something similar to your black dress, today. You look lovely!

wow I love this post. I really like your poses in particular, but of course the dress is perfect. Black lace is always a good choice..and it goes so well with your hair.

I can't believe you have sun in Washington (I was told that didn't happen ahahah)...you must be the only place in the world right now.

the back of the dress is amazing! you definitely achieve a modern gypsy look with this dress and headband.

This may actually be one of my faves of yours. The back of the dress shows off your tatoos in a really unique way. You are making want to buy some henna :)

This dress is beautiful, the lace is the perfect touch. I love the headpiece. My art project for spring break is to hopefully make a horn headpiece. Your photos themselves evoke mystic/magic/fairies.

Great post.

Gorgeous. I love how you wore the headband. I always try to do that myself and end up with a big fluff of hair on the top of my head. Your's looks stylized and great, however.

The last photograph looks straight out of Lula Magazine.

I love dressing with a theme. Some days I'm a parisian spy, some days I'm a forest creature, somedays I'm a rocker chick. Having an idea in mind when dressing always helps to prevent the multi outfits-tossing to the floor-I have nothing to wear-giving up and wearing jeans and a t shirt sorts of days.

tomorrow I think I'l be a cuddly cozy snuggle

This reminds me of that one ... I think Lulu? video where it starts off as a group of girls in an innocent, spring fairyworld, only to end in a haunting gothic aura. Ahh, how I wax poetic. I love the dark outfit.
