I stumbled across the pictures of
Ofer Wolberger and immediately fell in love with his series "Life with Maggie." The series intentionally seeks to depict a personal photo journal or visual travel diary while it explores the idea of a character lost in space and time. Maggie is a masked female and almost always appears alone, but the blankness of her mask leaves the viewer to decide whether or not she is lonely.

That is so different and cool!! I love the photo of her in the boat!
These are so strange and lovely. How do you always find such cool art?
Nice photos! But this mask is a bit scarry for me O_o
As well as I'm afraid of clowns! Brrr...
Kisses from Paris!

These are stunning and a little bit scary!
These remind me of Penelope....
and, hahha, is that James Francos face?
I wrote about this series awhile ago too. It's stunning and meaningful...
Hope you had a great Christmas!
This is amazing. I love how you discover all these amazing photographs everywhere. Lovely.
Gorgeous and thought-provoking.
Oh my goodness... it's a bit creepy and gives me a strange feeling but I want to dress myself up like this and see what it's like. :)
these are so amazing! i love the way they are shown like a travel journal.

i'll be honest, the mask kinda freaks me out, it looks like a giant china doll, but the whole concept is deeply intruiging.

love it all...it's quite haunting. these photographs almost seem unreal
Quite an interesting idea. I've been to that James Dean spot and took photos with him too. I like the one walking in the sand. To me in that photo, she looks like she's enjoying some alone time and not lonely. But then you have the beach one, and she looks lonely to me there. Thanks for sharing.
Where do you keep finding all this intriguing art? These photos are so interesting, thanks for sharing!
great concept- these photos are eerily inspiring
The pics are cool, the thing that creeps me out isn't really the mask it's how huge the woman's hands are lol! =D
Oh gosh I'm probably the only one that thinks that =/ hehe
Hi Cinderella girl, your Rodarte dress is beautiful on you! And I love these photos, they remind me of this one artist (I can't remember her name now!!) who filmed these videos of her humping an imaginary person in all of these love motels in Japan, after her boyfriend dumped her the day before they were to go on this Japanese vacation together. It was a weird combination of really endearing/cute and utterly creepy. I think these photos skirt that line in a really cool way too! Thank you for always sharing the best artwork.
Happy holidays lady!
Jenny
Gorgeous. Those photos are magical!
XX.
wow this doll has great clothes!
these remind me of those books i would read when i was little that only had pictures, so you could make up your own story... my favorite would have to be the one of her by the car.
I found the one of her at the table with a glass of wine to be very depressing. While the viewer cannot see her facial expression, her body language leads me to believe she is very lonely. The other ones were much more difficult to desipher.
These are beautiful!
I kind of want to jump in and hug her...
These are incredible! They remind me of a photographer I studied in my photo class who took pictures of a masked family. Not being able to see this girl's face makes it so much more intriguing!

nice. initially, i thought these were a series of paintings and i wondered why every element in the *painting* looked real except for the faces. at last, I read your intro and it all made sense - a mask. these photos are beautiful and surreal.
awww cute picture.i love it

that's such a lovely idea, i can't stop staring at those photos.
at first i thought that was her actual face, or that the whole image was fabricated.
Wow, these are so gorgeous and beautifully creative. And, I am in love with the red dress in the antique store shot.
These definitely creep me out a lot, but they're actually really stunning. It's an interesting concept.
I choose to think that she's not alone. I also choose to think that I need all of those dresses in my closet.
This is really a one-of-kind piece of art!an idea of a genius. But I'm never a fan of puppet face! The mask gives me the creeps heeee....
This series is amazing; so uniquely insightful and different. Thank you so much for sharing as you have piqued my interest in Wolberger's work.
interesting but scary...it reminds me of a film I watch a while ago where the killers wore masks similar to the one in these pictures...
not very good memories...
hehe i have to admit these pictures first scared me! but now i understand why you love them so much, they're really special

Wow this is an amazing series! I think somehow because its a mask instead of a face its easy to identify with the character & put yourself in the role of Maggie. Love it! :)
eccentric and kool
liking :)
those are awesome!
These are wonderful; so intellectually intriguing. What a great find! A.
A little creepy, but very intriguing!
I love Wolberger's "Life with Maggie" photographs! I was lucky enough to see his exhibition when I was in London last summer, and I blogged about it then, it was gorgeous!
These pictures creep me out but I can't stop looking.
Masks in general creep me out.
I really like those photos :)
What a great set of photographs that tell their own tale. They make me think of that Ryan Gosling movie, Lars and the Real Girl. It's a little eccentric, but I quite liked it.
