Dream A Little Dream

These pieces of art by Eleanor Wood are really lovely and seem to express an active and colorful dream world. Unfortunately, I never really remember my dreams...does anyone have some fun dreams to share?

Aww! Love these!

I always remember my dreams, I had a dream journal before.

One time, I dreamt about a giant Barbie was trying to kill me. LOL.

excellent art work :)
i have been really into collage lately, so these are particularly inspiring.

as far as dreams go
this post made me do back to the dream journal i used to keep, here's a quote from it

"at some point i held a blue snake and we became friends in a magical way"
and also
"i see my cousins, and i am quite excited about it, but it is like they are not really there, it is as though they are restricted to row i see them in photographs"

reading these old dreams is fun i think i'll try to dream journal once more.

beautiful collages!

Her work is very interesting: it makes me think of Francis Picabia.

My dreams are always very complicated and I only remember parts of them. But from what I remember, I have the impression that my inconcious is incomprehensible!

Very dreamy, indeed. They do evoke the magical randomness of dreams. I often dream of myself as another person -- I don't know for sure who I am, but I always know it isn't me. There are never mirrors around to be certain. I'm sure there is heavy meaning in there somewhere!

Recently, I had a dream that I was pregnant with an acquaintances' child. It was very awkward the next day when I saw him.

The textures she uses are great, too. Expect an art post from me today! haha

Wow these are really amazing. I love the use of the colours and different textures! Now that I think about it, I haven't had any good dreams that I remember lately :(

I just stumbled across your blog and read about 20 pages.. it's so amazing, I love your style! Now I must comment. What pretty art!

Goodness I have so many dreams.. I write all of them down.

There was the one where I invaded a mermaid Nazi camp while in a pink milk truck after hiding behind a giant curtain and avoiding the Nazi police train.. and the one where my brother stopped lighting these candles on a Roman Colosseum and suddenly avacados began to rain from the sky and I had to run into the bathroom in order to depart to Venezuela to escape the terrorists.. and the one where I fell into a pit of saltwater and got frozen and later was melted in Chinatown.. or the one where FDR was assassinated at my house where there was a nun party and I had to fly through space on a refrigerator and eat pacman dots until I reached earth, and the nuns would be saved!
Well, those are my most normal ones haha!

my dreams are always so rare. Just random things, and when I'm dreaming something good, it desapeared.

What wonderful pictures! I've had the recurring dream of skateboarding through the supermarket and crashing into a display of grapes. So strange, huh?!

I hate it when I can't remember my dream, especially if it's a good one.

Those are beautiful.

I always wish I remember my dreams, they fade so quickly when you wake up.

The last one I still remember involved being chased by a Dolphin, weird.

please put up the pictures of you wrapped in lights that i saw on lookbook!!

Love her! I have the worst dreams, and I always remember every single detail from them. When I was kid I didn't sleep for a week because I was afraid of having dreams and then I had to go to the Emergency Room for exhaustion!!

As you well know, I recently had a dream, and it was not good...

But I had a daydream/fantasy this morning, in which I traveled back to 2004 when my best friend Ricciee (pronounced Rixxy) and I spent most of our free time together. It made me fall in love with her all over again... reminded me how special my friends really are.

Do you have friends like that? I know you're close with your family.

I love these! So interesting!

As for dreams? One I have all the time is of all my teeth falling out at once - I always wake up and immediately check that they are all still there.. haha

@Farina, They're going to be on the blog Monday...I have other things I want to post first!

I often remember my dreams...usually they are very real and sometimes terrifying while asleep, then I wake up and laugh about them later. It's the juxtaposition of mundane or ordinary events of my day mixing with over-the-top theatrical things, like I'll be back in school, and then have to rescue someone from a burning car. Or I'll be hanging out with people I haven't seen in many years and we'll be doing something incredible like performing in a circus as if it's totally normal.

Rachel C. said...

these are amazing! lately, my sleeping habits have been really off track and it's been effecting my dreams in such that i basically am dreaming of normal day to day activites and, when i wake up and realize that all of the things i accomplished in my dreams didn't actually happen, it's kind of disappointing. if only i could be as motivated in real life!

loving this work... expressive indeed. I wish I could paint my dreams as they transpire, a surprise each time you awake.
Most of the time I have lucid dreams.... know I'm dreaming and control the whole thing. Fly? Why not. Breathe underwater? Absolutely. Love your blog. Happy we found you... two new fans from San Francisco.

Some days ago I made an entry in my journal about how my cellphone alarm wakes me up in the middle of awesome dreams, I tend to always remember them, yay!!!
This was my dream the other day, don't laugh:

I hate HATE when I'm in the middle of an awesome dream and then the alarm wakes me up!
Aghhhh, last morning I was dreaming with Pasi.., I was at an Ajattara concert and he stopped the show to ask what us fans wanted him to do.
There were few selected people at the crowd and we were all waiting for our turn, I was the last one, but he never asked me. Instead he started to SWEEP THE FUCKING FLOOR (yeah.., crazy, I know). I was mad, so mad, that I asked him why he didn't ask me! Then he told me he already knew what I wanted so he was cleaning the place so we didn't get dirty while laying there.. xDDDD
When everything was clean the alarm rang, and bye bye sweet dream.. =_=

Crazy I know, but sometimes I get a little too obsessed with some things.. xDD

Gawd I love these, so much.

Whoa this art is fantastic! It kind of reminds me of Martha Rosler's work in a strange way...

I once had a dream that I was carrying around a watermelon outside and had to go to the bathroom... and when I found that glorious port-a-potty, I couldn't go until the women of the loo got to break my watermelon open and eat the guacamole-like texture inside, which I of course vehemently warned them against. Strange, no?

like some people here, I also remember my dreams (and keep a dream journal).

in one i was being chased by a giant pencil sharpener.

and in a more recent one, I snuck my boyfriend out of school (where his mom was the principal), and got him in trouble. but then ten minutes later I got stabbed in the foot. karma sucks.
