LA Vintage $100 Giveaway

When you want something special, one-of-a-kind pieces at a decent price there's no comparison to vintage. The limited quantity and rarity of vintage can make it hard to find (especially in your specific size), but lately quality vintage is only a few clicks away on the web. This leads me to this week's sponsor: LA Vintage. This shop is an excellent online source of quality vintage pieces from accessories to swimwear and everything in between.

Not only do they have a large and diverse stock of pieces, but the site is amazingly user-friendly. You can browse by size, era, color, type, etc. It makes hunting down that perfect polka dot blazer as easy as pie and their prices are extremely reasonable considering someone else is doing all the leg work. Not only is the site a source of fashionable one of a kind clothing, but it is an earth conscious way to shop; a rare enough combination in the fashion industry.

This week's prize is a $100 gift certificate to spend at LA Vintage. Open to International readers. The winner will be drawn and announced on 11/8/09.

To Enter: Leave a comment below telling me why you love vintage and what you would spend the $100 on in LA Vintage's shop.

I love vintage because it is just so unique - there is such a small chance that you will ever see anyone wearing the same thing as you. I also like the fact that buying vintage is being a more environmentally conscious consumer. It's basically just really stylish recycling!

I would totally buy some of their boots. They have a great selection!

ohh, i love this site!
i love vintage so much because it feels like a part of history, as cheesy as it may sound, and they're one of a kind pieces that you just can't find at you're average place. and of course i love vintage because the pieces are just so stunning!
hmm, if i won i would honestly have a very tough time choosing what to spend the $100 on! i'm thinking a dress, because i collect them and the ones on there are just amazing, and a great pair of ankle boots :)

I love vintage because you are not only wearing cool clothes, but they have a story behind them. The person before you, who wore this article of clothing could have been a famous writer, poet, movie star, a queen, or maybe just a girl who was just like you. Whoever it was who wore it, they made this outfit special some how and they didn't even know it when they wore it that day.

I would spend the $100 on my mom, and my dearest friends and maybe, just maybe if there was anything left for me, I would buy a pair of new shoes, and spend the day thanking you.

i love vintage because it's classic. there's nothing better than incorporating older styles in with the new ones to give off a polished look.

i think i would spend it one a really nice pair of wedges and a nice bag. too things that would compplete any outfit!

I love vintage because it allows for unique pieces to be blended with current pieces in many interesting ways. It allows for the great pieces from the past to be combined in today's world. Vintage pieces add artistic elements and varied aesthetic elements to show part of your personality. It takes an outfit to another level. Plus, I like the combinations of different elements in my outfits and vintage is amazing for that. I actually bought
http://www.lavintage.com/Red%20And%20Black%20Cowboy%20Boots%20Size%2011.htm
right out because I couldn't wait to see if I'd win the contest. I've been looking for red and black cowboy boots forever and this was perfect. So if I won, I'd get the below because I'm in LOVE with vintage dresses!! The polka dot dress is sweet, cute, and great for going out and the sweater would be a great combo with many of the pieces I already have.

I love vintage, because most pieces are unique and because they usually have so much more character than the mass-produced clothing of the present. I would seriously consider buying the plaid poncho if I had $100 to spend there.

gina said...

I love vintage b/c my wardrobe has more variety than it would if I only purchased modern clothes. In current stores only certain limited styles are available for purchase at any given time. Vintage expands the available styles. Plus, the quality of garments are better for the price, especially when purchasing items from the 60's.

So far, I've seen the Where the Boys Are mustard yellow dress from the 60's that I like on the LA Vintage site, but I'm only just starting to comb through the listing. I love that you can search by not just size, but specific measurements!

Cher said...

I love vintage because of the different look and feel of the clothes. You can put something together and know that no one else will have it. Plus, it looks historically conscious!

I would buy the shirts! I need shirts for winter, and this would be a cool place to buy them from!

it's fun! when you wear vintage, you stand out from the crowd. vintage clothing is also nostalgic and most of all, enable the wearer to create and maintain an original look.

if i'd get lucky and win, i'd buy vintage boots and dress :)

Renee said...

i love vintage because i love owning one of a kind pieces that no one else is wearing!

i'd spend it on one of their cute belts and a hippie dress!

emily said...

i love vintage because every piece has a story behind it. ;) ...i'd probably spend the money on some really cool skirts, since they can be such stand-out pieces... or maybe something classic, like a trench coat.

I love everything about vintage. When wearing vintage, you never worry that you're going to turn the corner and see someone wearing the exact same thing you're wearing. The clothes are a throwback to those that have been fashionable before us; we're just continuing the legacy in their former clothes. Plus, I feel less guilty about shopping because I'm wearing clothes that would have otherwise been thrown out.

If I won the $100, I would probably buy this (http://www.lavintage.com/60s-Chic-Parisian-Cardi.htm) cardigan, just because I love the vertical stripes and the double breasted closure. I'd also purchase these (http://www.lavintage.com/90s-Fluent-Fluid-Pant.htm) pants because they are similar to the harem style that's popular, but don't seem too extreme.

elle s'ennuie said...

I love vintage because it evokes a certain connection with history, with people and events that took place in another time and place, but at the same time, there's the mystery of not really knowing what people and what events, so the imagination can run wild!

I'd get a dress, couldn't tell you at this point which one though... but definitely something flowy, light, and romantic. :P

kasey said...

i love vintage not only because it's unique but because there's just something special about clothes from the past. (my my always said i was born in the wrong era).

I'm really loving all the things they have in my size from the 70s. In particular, I would want to buy the lola lounge dress. Gorgeous!

Laura said...

What a great website! I have trouble finding vintage clothing around my area, so this is a really helpful resource.

I love vintage because it is eco-friendly and unique. I have a minor in Environmental Studies, and I love the idea of reusing clothing instead of purchasing new things unnecessarily.

If I won, I would definitely buy a dress from the 50s. Perhaps the blue one.

chelsea said...

I love vintage because of the high-quality craftsmanship and luxe fabrics! There's just no comparing vintage dresses with the low- to mid-range dresses (all I can afford!) available in stores today. I would love to have a gift certificate to find my perfect 60s shift dress!

i love vintage because it is unique and fun and adds so much more personality and character, and helps personalize every day things,

with a 100 dollar gift certificate to L.A. vintage I would buy

When you wear something vintage, you can't help but think about what things that particular article of clothing has witnessed throughout the past, which makes you feel like you're almost part of a different era. Not to mention the certainty that there isn't going to be anyone else there with the exact same thing as you, which is always a fantastic plus.

I'm not sure what exactly I would buy just yet, but it would probably be in the realm of sweaters and dresses and boots :)

Emmy said...

I love vintage because of the "I just rummaged through my grandma's closet" type of feel. There's something so costume-y yet wearable about vintage pieces that always appeal to my child-like nature. Not to mention, when you wear vintage you won't see a legion of other people marching around in the same thing unlike when wearing a piece from forever 21 or urban.

After looking through the site, Id say I'm definitely being drawn to all the jumpsuit options. I have yet to buy one and when it comes to jumpsuits, vintage is just so undeniably superior.

Amelia said...

I love vintage beacause you can imagine the whole life it had before, where it came from who wore it...
There is also a certain pride in telling people what you're wearing is vintage

If I won I would love
This amazing sequinned jacket it so beautful and such a bargain

If I don't win I may consider getting it anyway.

These cool sunglasses, I've been looking for a nice pair of oversized sunglasses for ages.

I love vintage because it's so unique -- because often, it's beautifully made and well-crafted -- because I like my clothes to tell a story.

I would get the "laced-up riding boots," for sure. I currently own no knee-high boots, and I live in a cold climate (the Midwest). Plus, they're in my size!

it's really hard to find good vintage items where i live - they're usually last season's over-priced things. but there's no better feeling than finding a true vintage gem that fits perfectly and that no one else will have!

if i won i would spend the money on things i can wear out when i move to the US in 15 days, because i'm hardly taking anything with me!

I like vintage because most of the time, you are buying a unique piece with lots of character. I enjoy mixing vintage with modern pieces to create a 'twist'.

All my favourite pieces are sold out! But I really like the peachy keen dress (http://www.lavintage.com/70s-Peachy-Keen-Dress.htm). You can toughen it up or keep it sweet and girly. How I wish the tiered wedding dress was still available (http://www.lavintage.com/60s-Multi-Tiered-Wedding-Dress.htm). I'm not getting married but it's a pretty cool find!

Manja said...

First of all, I love vintage because it is unique. Secondly, buying vintage is sustainable and thirdly, the materials 'back in the day' used to be a lot better than the plastic crap many mass retailers sell today.

That store is amazing! And you are right, the prices are very reasonable :)

I don't really know why i like vintage, I just always have. I guess it's because you can find so many unique kinds of clothing you just can't find in a mall. Some of my favorite pieces of clothing came from vintage places. c:

I could spend hours looking through the site finding a million things I would want haha. I especially like the 90s Korean Scene Dress because the color is so pretty. :)

I <3 vintage because it's not just clothing - it's clothing with a story. Every piece has been loved and worn before and you take a part in sharing it's history.

Ahhh man so many great things at LA vintage! All of the sweaters, outerwear and boots that I would buy are all sold out :( (rightly so!) but I would buy the following:
- Katherine Striped Jacket: http://www.lavintage.com/Katherine-Striped-Jacket-70s.htm
- Warm Boots: http://www.lavintage.com/Warm-Boots.htm

The best part of vintage is that it is rare that anyone else will ever find the item you have. Also, finding the perfect vintage piece is pretty special.

I would feed my obsession with floral dresses and booties!

I like wearing vintage because number one, I like wearing things that likely no one else has...and two, because the solar Capricorn in me hates, hates, hates being wasteful and spending my hard-earned cash.
It's more eco-friendly and usually less expensive than buying new clothes. It also makes outfit making more varied and often forces me to be creative. I could go on forever, but I won't. :)

Ahhh, I would probably buy the Calista Crochet blouse
http://www.lavintage.com/Calista-Crochet-blouse-70s.htm

I love vintage clothing because it makes me feel so lovely and classy and I feel like myself when I'm wearing it. I've always felt as if I were born in the wrong decade and vintage clothing allows me to embrace and express myself.

I also love the wondrous thoughts of what the person who wore the clothing before me was like.
Was she ever in love while wearing it? Was she free, happy, adventurous? It's just so neat for me to think that what I'm wearing was worn before me, and will hopefully be worn after :)

And well, with the gift certificate I would most certainly buy a dress, I have such a vintage dress obsession lately :D

http://www.lavintage.com/70s-Angel-Cake-Dress.htm

like that one, so gorgeous!

Louise said...

I love vintage because it's so unique, just like everyone else said. And the feeling when you find the perfect vintage dress is always 100 times better than the feeling when you find a dress on H&M etc.

I'd probably want to buy the "80s Steppin Out Dress" or some nice 60s dress if I won :)

Alison Pate said...

I love vintage because it makes me think about the people who wore the clothes before me, and because vintages pieces stand out.

If I won I would want a cute little sixties dress or some t-strap heels.

What an amazing giveaway!
I like vintage because you can find something unique that no one else has. You can find something perfect for you without having to worry that other people have the same exact thing. Also because its more sustainable. Rather than buying cheaply made new clothes you are recycling the old when you buy vintage.

If I won I would definitely get myself a pair of lovely heeled oxfords:

http://www.lavintage.com/Chocolaty-Oxford-Heels.htm

or a cute floral dress.

Lindsey Fast said...

I adore vintage in every possible way. The originality that comes with thrift shopping is inspiring.
I absolutely love all things old. The styles that were worn are nothing compared to the fashion nowadays, and they're amazing.
If I were to win a 100$ gift card, it's guaranteed that I would buy floral prints. I love floral prints, they're gorgerous. Also, I would probably purchase some more oxfords. Vintage jewelry is often always the best too.
So many great things come from the past.

Rhiannon said...

whats not to love about vintage? i just love the fit of some pieces on me. like 50s dresses are the best. i would probably buy something like that from the website.

Mich said...

Oh this would be soo cool!
I like vintage probably for the same reasons as everyone else - becuase you can find really unique patterns that don't look like you bought it at the mall. And its also exciting to think about the previous life that this garment had and the future life it will have.

Penny said...

I adore vintage because it makes it easy to stand out among other people. Plus, the prices are usually cheap (:
I would definitely buy the 60's floral sweater if I win!

Nicole said...

I love vintage because it's always possible to find something unique and of excellent quality. If I won, I don't know what I would buy! Probably boots, but I also loved the Priscilla Faux Fur Coat, the Forest Love Hobo Bag, and the Beaded Betty Bag. Lovely...

Lucy in the Sky said...

love your giveaways! since I'm in dire need of new sneakers, I'd probably go for those gorgeous blue Oxfords...in my size! oh we were meant for each other! The lacey lace blouse reminds me of Stella McCartney's resort collection which I absolutely love.

HEK said...

I love vintage because it takes me on e treasure hunt:) And even though it takes some time to find the treasure, it's tons of fun when you do find it. Also kinda cool with all the weird, funky stuff you'll see while hunting;) I must also admit..I'm kinda broke. So vintage is my road towards getting something unique.

On LA Vintage I'd go for the "Jackie O flared coat", It's getting cold where I live and I could really use a pretty coat. Also adore the printed harems, especially the rose printed one:)

Isabel said...

I adore vintage, and second hand in general because its recycles unwanted clothing. Anything that encourages environmental sustainability is awesome in my books, especially when it involves fashion.

I'd spend the $100 on 'Canvas Spectator Shoes', '80s Disco Ball Dress' and 'Vintage Coach Purse'.

evelyn said...

oh vintage is beautiful! if i won i would buy lots of clothes... or maybe that $100 will only get me a shirt or pants o.0 idk. haha

h.kim said...

What an amazing giveaway!

I love vintage because it's beautiful and unique and poetic. If I were to win (!!), then I would probably buy a dress because there's just something about vintage dresses that can't be beat. Or I would buy a pair of ankle boots because vintage ankle boots are A.MAZING.

Amanda L said...

Vintage clothing is the way to go. I avoid going to many of the high-priced trendy retail stores these days. I used to go in there, but it never failed: I'd see someone trotting along the street looking just like me with the same pieces on. I felt less unique and less like myself when this would happen. Now I just stop in there for the basic T's and tank tops.

With 100 bucks to LA Vintage I would definately get myself some shoes or dresses or awesome pants and shirts. It really all depends on my mood the day of shopping. Either way I'd get some awesome stuff that I'd rewear for years just like all of my recycled and thrifted clothes.

daisymay said...

Vintage to me is an investment! Fashion always comes around again so you may aswell plan ahead! and if a piece of clothing has managed to last till now it has to be well made. With $100 and the whole of LA Vintage to shop from I would so invest in an adorable printed dress or romper suit! They have so so many I would love to own! So hopefully I could win this awesome prize!

Lydia said...

I love vintage because it's so easy to mix up so many different ways.
Example: I can already think of at least 5 ways to wear both http://www.lavintage.com/60s-Darlene-Floral-Dress.htm and http://www.lavintage.com/70s-Vanilla-Sky-Blouse.htm which are the pieces I would start my shopping spree with, haha

I also love this blog and this is my first ever comment and I'm totally being that creeper girl who doesn't have her own blog....yet ;D

Brigadeiro said...

Ooh! I'd buy that Mickey Mouse top! Love MM! Also spotted a cute romper or striped dress I'd love as well :)

Haha, snap! My last post has me wearing a vintage batik print sarong...I love vintage because it the piece has a 'history', extra character from something 'brand new', and is also more unique...
xx

I love vintage because I have an embarrasingly childish imagination and love to imagine where the clothes have been before I got my hands on them :)
also the fact that when people sk where I got what I'm wearing, I get to say "it's vintage, darling."

I would spend the $100 on about everything in their 80s collection, including that blazer and the Mandy Blue Jumpsuit :) xxx

rania said...

I love vintage because it's basically like recycling which benefits out world. When you have vintage clothes on you can feel like you're the only one with that one of a kind item, which is priceless.

I would buy whatever i can with my $100's. It'd probably take me five minutes. :)

miranda.gabriela said...

I love vintage because it allows me to feel as though I am re-using and recycling! I love the notion that an article of clothing can have so much history attached to it! Also, because I tend to wear so much that my mom handed down to me (She's born in 1944 - 60's &70's outfits ROCK) I feel connected to the past in a really positive way. Vintage makes me happy.

If I were to have $100 to spend at L.A. vintage, I would definitely spend it on the perfect little romper! Ohh, and maybe that leopard-print butterfly purse... Being a curvier lady, it can be such a pain trying to find things which fit! LA Vintage takes away all that hassle, and THAT, more than anything, makes me super excited to have been introduced to it by you! Thank you so much!

bravegrrl said...

i have loved vintge ever since i was a little girl... i used to scour them with my mom looking for halloween costumes and special little nick nacks for the house and i took it to a whole different level. in high school we used to live down the street from a salvation army and i would make weekly visits there to quench my thirst for new (well new for me!) unique things to mix into my wardrobe :) salvation army is still my favorite place to shop ♥♥♥
it is also the ultimate recycling!!! is there a better way to help our planet than reusing instead of creating more?

i just browsed the site and found quite a few things that i would buy... i love the leather checkered 80s drawstring bag, a black sweetheart neck bodycon dress and the faux fur patchy 70s jacket... but i'm sure if i browsed more i could find more, hehe!!

I went to school for costume design, so I have a huge appreciation for fashion from all eras. I think it's incredibly interesting how fashion reinvents itself and changes throughout time, yet still holds on to simple staples and elements of design. I love vintage because it incorporates all of these things and allows a person to wear a piece of history on themselves. Vintage clothing has a backstory, a history, and I love that.

If I won the gift certificate, I would spend it on these three things:

Polka Momma Blazer: http://www.lavintage.com/Polka%20Momma%20Blazer%2080s.htm

As for what I would get, it would be a toss up between the Bonnie Striped Dress 80s and the Donna Disco Dress 70s.

Thanks for hosting this awesome giveaway!

i love vintage because its acknowledging these timeless looks and and shapes, and has much more fashion permanence than whatever trendy thing that will look ridiculous in no time. there is a connection and timelessness also with the idea that someone has worn the garment before you, and someone may wear it after you.
less philosophically, really classic shapes look much better on my body than current styles.

i'd love to get a vintage shirtdress, so i would get something along those lines. there was a really great 80's dress that i saw. and i also love that mickey mouse sweatshirt. =]

I love vintage because it's experiencing history, a story. When you wear a vitnage piece of clothing, you sort of get an image of waht journeys the clothing went through.

And I'd spend the $100 on something floral, because florals can take so many forms and show different emotions.

i dont have a lot of vintage clothing, but those that i have are evidently made better and the hardware and fabric, etc are of higher quality and most of all, they are the inspiration of so many newer fashion nowadays, so it never goes out of style.

Anyway, what i really love from LA Vintage is this fur coat:

its so plush and makes any outfit so dressed up even with casual jeans and flat boots.

I love vintage because everything is unique. The chances of finding the same thing twice is very slim and no matter what you choose no one else will have it. Also, I think the best clothing comes from past eras.
If I recieved the $100 gift card I would spend it on a dress because I love wearing dresses during all seasons and I could use some cute dresses for the wintertime.

Why do I love vintage clothes?
Because what's not to love!!!

I would buy a fantastic dress from LA Vintage if I won.

I once read a blog post asking about whether you opt for quality or quantity when shopping. The truth is that I love shopping and constantly unearthing new treasures for cheap. But at the same time, I'm reluctant to spend a lot of money on one great piece. Which is why I love vintage. It's the best way to nourish a shopping addiction without breaking the bank. The fact that no one else will have what I do is just a bonus.

As for purchases, it would be hard to resist these beauties;

I love vintage because it makes the person more special and interesting if she/he's wearing something totally different than others. Because we all want to look a bit different from the others, right? And the feeling of finding something really old and cool at the bottom of a wardrobe is the same as finding a real treasure in a thrifting store. Amazing.
I think from the store, the dresses, the jackets/blazers and the skirts are just wonderful.

I'm officially obsessed. I love this site. So much to choose from but it would have to definitely go towards a dress or footwear. Everything is adorable.

I love vintage because you know your not going to run into anyone else with the same dress. Or sweater, or boots. Some of my favorite clothes are vintage.

I would buy a sweater and/or a dress.

The 60's Winona Floral Sweater is gorgeous.

Oh my god such an amazing giveaway!

I love vintage clothes because they give you an opportunity to look completely, totally unique. I know that when I'm wearing something vintage, nobody else will be wearing the same thing! I also love the feeling of wearing clothes with character - that somebody else ten or thirty or fifty years ago wore what I'm wearing and had amazing times in it!

I would buy the 80s Trudy Flats, the 80s Little Miss Sunshine Oxfords, or the 50s Stacy Ames Dress. So many gorgeous things!

The reason I like vintage is because I feel that each piece has its own history, or story to tell like a really amazing book, and when I wear it I'm able to add one more page to that book and become part of the history that the piece has. Vintage also allows me to simply go back to simpler times a feeling that is always wonderful. Sometimes I'll find something that reminds me of my childhood or a time I wish i had been born in and that's why I love Vintage.

I love vintage because it is usually one-of-a-kind! I really hate showing up to school or a party and having people tell me that they have the exact same dress from Target or wherever.

There is definitely too much to choose from, but I think if I had some money to spend at LA Vintage, I would definitely think about getting a cardigan. I have been looking for a nice mustard-colored one or maybe a red one for a long time. This lovely 60s Gold Rush Cardigan (http://www.lavintage.com/60s%20Gold%20Rush%20Cardigan.htm) might do the trick!

I love vintage clothes because to you it may be your newest, most loved treasure but to someone else it holds so much history and memories. Vintage clothes are also usually super affordable and shopping in a thrift store is always a fun challenge--digging through racks of clothes or piles of accessories to find bargains. That feeling of satisfaction and triumph of finding something is irreplacable. Vintage is also very rare, so you know that not many people will have the same clothes as you do, whereas if you shop at H&M and Forever 21, you should expect to find people wearing the same thing as you.

LA Vintage is so great. The website IS incredibly easy to use. I would probably spend the $100 on their bags and those yellow miss sunshine oxfords!

Sher said...

I love vintage because it transports you back to another era or time when you put a piece on and I think that is so magical!

I recently had the opportunity to choose a research topic of my choice for a school paper. I ended up writing about the effects of the fashion industry on the environment. I love vintage not only because it is unique and historical, but also because wearing vintage clothing extends the life of clothing that would otherwise be filling up a landfill. By investing in vintage, I am also preventing the need to buy new clothes. If everyone invested in quality vintage items, the fashion industry would pollute the environment much less because the demand for new clothes would fall and less of the cheap clothes made today would end up in landfills.

It just so happens that vintage is in style and fun to wear on top of all of that!

If I won, I would probably invest in a few timeless purses such as this one:

http://www.lavintage.com/60s-Patent-Leather-Perry-Purse.htm

It has a timeless shape but the patent leather makes it seem updated!

Just a whole different eras where there was more life and play instead of dreariness. When you put on something vintage, you get a certain aura around you, you feel special, even interesting. Not to mention it's fun to pretend like you're in a different time and the best way to do that, in my opinion, is to dress yourself in vintage clothes. Vintage combines the thrill of the hunt with the reassurance that no one will have the same thing as you (at least no one you know). Vintage is quality - these pieces didn't survive throughout the years because they were mass produced and sold at Walmart! Vintage is DIFFERENT - I don't want to dress like everyone else. Vintage is anti-landfill. I love to embrace the environmental cause by shopping for fashionable clothes and accessories!! I love vintage because I believe inanimate things can hold impressions of the past and each item may have a story behind it!

I love vintage because:

1) I am from a typically working-class background, and it can be difficult to afford unique clothes- this is where thrift stores/charity shops step in!

If I win (crossing fingers), I'm definitely buying a pair of boots or pairs. I can't choose! Aaaah! Make me win!

Vintage makes you look real: your clothes look like they're part of you, never like you're trying. It's easier to look like you've always looked this amazing when you wear vintage. And vintage dresses are always more flattering: I want this one! http://www.lavintage.com/Stacy%20Ames%20Dress%2050s.htm

I think I was born a few decades too late - I love vintage because it's nearly one of a kind, allows you to stand out in a sea of UO and F21, and is generally better made!

I'm looking for a great pair of lace-up black boots - or something with a peplum. Thats where my $100 would go!

I love vintage because it has a history. Whenever I look at it, or wear it, I think of who it was that wore it last. I think about how that person's life played out and what they did. I like to imagine what the previous owner was like.

If I won, I would definitely scout out some nice vintage boots and a comfy oversized sweater for winter... but if I find a unique dress in my size, I simply might not be able to resist! =P

I love vintage because it makes me feel individual and unique, and knowing that no one else (i know) has this particular item makes me feel pretty and special :)

I would spend it on:

and

I realise these items dont match but i love the skirt because I've never seen anything like it before

It's a little of everything! The fact that it's one of a kind, the cuts and silhouettes are cuter, the quality of fabric and sewing is so so much better. Everything's a little better when it's vintage.

With $100, I would definitely snag a pair of ankle boots!!

Love Vintage because each piece is unique and sometimes a piece of art. When you wear one of them you can be sure that you're wearing exclusive and original stuff.

I love vintage because I like the thrill of hunting for great hard to come by pieces.

I would love to have the 90s Ms Harris Romper! http://www.lavintage.com/90s-Ms-Harris-Dotted-Romper.htm

Why oh why do I love vintage?

Let me count the ways:

1. You know each and every piece is unique and one-of-a-kind fabulous.

2. The thrilling treasure hunt to find "the one."

3. The ability it has to help you find a style all your own (in a day when trends abound)

What would I buy? Well, I'm starting a new shopgirl adventure where vintage-y is the vibe and would love nothing more than to perfectly fit in and 'look the part.'

Fantastic prize. So glad I could throw myself into the running ...

I could write a whole book based on the many reasons why I love vintage and why vintage loves me back...but one of the major components is that vintage allows for styles that have gone to the way side, to be embraced and valued.

I would probably go for the 1950's selection of dresses... gotta love shirt dresses :0)

1st. thank you for giving me a lovely new place to "window shop" at. If i had a gift certificate I would immediately buy

http://www.lavintage.com/80s-Ruffle-Dot-Dress.htm

and then save the rest for the next beauty that comes along.

I love vintage because it's unique and uncommon on my campus. I also love the thrill of the hunt--coming through the racks of clothes at my local thrift stores until that one item pops out. I love the different ways a vintage item catches my attention--the texture, the color, the print.

Lovely blog,

Oh vintage is such a friend :) I love vintage dresses, with lots of ruffles and frills. The girliest of vintage so I can pretend the piece was once worn by a lady of the house!

I love vintage because its unique. I'm an individual and I don't like wearing the same clothing as others. I would probably buy some cute dresses!

PS I might have entered twice. So sorry if I did, I couldn't find my comment above and I didn't write what I wanted to buy before.

I love vintage clothes because they are often quite different than clothing you would find at the normal store. It allows you to express yourself differently than most other people. When ever I wear something that is vintage it makes me feel kinda special. I love having something that is for the most part uniquely my own :)

If I won the $100 giveaway, I would probably use it to buy a new jacket. What better thing to have as winter approaches?

I love vintage because I hate the mall! I would spend the $100 on a cozy knit dress, maybe a great leather purse, and some practical boots.
Thanks!!
