Not only do they have a large and diverse stock of pieces, but the site is amazingly user-friendly. You can browse by size, era, color, type, etc. It makes hunting down that perfect polka dot blazer as easy as pie and their prices are extremely reasonable considering someone else is doing all the leg work. Not only is the site a source of fashionable one of a kind clothing, but it is an earth conscious way to shop; a rare enough combination in the fashion industry.

This week's prize is a $100 gift certificate to spend at LA Vintage. Open to International readers. The winner will be drawn and announced on 11/8/09.

To Enter: Leave a comment below telling me why you love vintage and what you would spend the $100 on in LA Vintage's shop.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 324 of 324Well, the short version is: I love vintage because it allows me to flex my styling muscles by blending old and new. I like the timelessness of classic pieces and nostalgia, and often find vintage dresses just fit better!
The long version of why I heart vintage is here: http://theclothes.blogspot.com/2009/11/la-vintage-giveaway.html
What would I get? The Murray Plaid Pancho, the 80s Lady Carol Dress, the 70s Mini Pom Pom Dress and/or the 70s Polka Peridot Dress.
Oops! I copied the wrong link...Embarrassing...
Anyway, here's my long I Heart Vintage manifesto
http://stylebynumbers.info/2009/11/02/i-heart-vintage/
why do i love you so much...maybe its because you make me feel beautiful, maybe its that you were made before my time, possibly its because you look lovely in my wardrobe, but probably because your mine.
Dear jumper, I simply need you in my life -

beautiful post, amazing idea & giveaway; all of the entries!! meeeeeep,
sooo... I like vintage because it brings back long forgotten eras and gives a meaning to fashion. For instance wearing your grandmothers jewellery is timeless, and you then know that this is unique, and personal to you through family. Also, vintage is usually one classic peice that cannot be found generally in high street shops, so therefore people will not be able to copy completely what you wear, but can take inspiration from this time period and find similar items. Vintage clothing also holds character, and walking into a vintage boutique is somewhat emotional when realising a time when the clothes before you were worn all over by the public, Vintage holds many different styles and can be appreciated by any fashion guru, as there are many simple, classic, elegant, eccentric, and gorgeous peices selling! therefore vintage clothing holds meaning and a memory in time, cannot be copied, and are inspirational to the fashion world, and the family you nabbed peices from! If i won this amazing prize (aaaah!!!) I would spend the money on...
Calista Crochet Blouse 70's
$44.00
http://www.lavintage.com/Calista-Crochet-blouse-70s.htm
and then with the rest.... I'd look further haha!
love bella,

Vintage style has so much personality and requires creativity to pull it off.
I would love to get my hands on some of those lovely dresses!
with vintage shopping you can find classic, timeless pieces which are more well-made than most of what i can afford to buy new! not to mention they are unique and earth-friendly (recycle, reduce, reuse!).
having just moved to a new, colder locale, and without a job, i'd love the extra cash to spend on warmer clothes! :)
I love vintage because...it's like you can pretend, if just for a second, that you're in a different time. Not necessarily a better time, but the one you felt you should have been born it, or the one you'd rather be in because this time sucks. Like when you have a bad day and you just want to escape. I would spend the $100 dollars on a jean jacket or vest, a floral dress (I'm on the search for the perfect one!), cute new shoes (something like those awesome oxford Seychelles you're always wearing!), a bag in seafoam green, maybe a flapper dress, and maybe a pillbox hat.
I love vintage because you are getting something different, recycling is good, and often you can find an amazing deal on a classic piece. I would buy a leather jacket, because my old one is too large.
I like vintage clothes because they had a life before me--there's a story behind them that adds a little more richness and depth to my own life.
I'd spend $100 on some much needed essentials: boots! It's getting to be the rainy season, and I'm tired of my feet getting wet.
I love vintage because it's so original and I feel like I own a small piece of history. If I win, I'd probably get a dress or two!
One of the main reasons that I love vintage clothes is probably the fact that it allows me to take something that once belonged to someone else and make it something new. I think it's really cool how instead of being thrown away the clothing can be altered/ worn in a different way and it gets new life, kinda tells a different story. I don't know if that makes any sense haha.
I've been on the hunt for the perfect coat so that is probably what I would spend it on..though dressed and boots can sometimes capture my fancy as well ;)
I love vintage because it feels amazing to find that dress that seems to be tailored for you from the last couple of decades! It's like they have made and have it waiting for your arrival for 10 years or so. :) Yikes...I must have read too much Twilight..
Oh and I would spend it one dresses and boots and accessories. I'm gonna try to stretch that $100 as much as I can~ :D
I really hope I win! I would love to get the 60s Chic Parisian Cardi it is absolutely gorgeous.
I like vintage because its like having a piece of time, and you have clothes that will never be made again-its kind magical haha
Cliche, but I love vintage because pieces are very unique and you often get much better quality products for the price.
And you better believe that I would immediately cash in on some of those boots. I think I even drooled a little bit. I've also been dying to see my boyfriend in a members only jacket.. that would totally be worth it!
Vintage pieces always have thier own unique flair that can add just the right amount of oopmh to any outfit. I love wearing vintage pieces because they kind of transport me back to the era in which it was made. It's just so cool to wear something different than the usual garb these days. Don't get me wrong, I love modern clothes. Heck I practically live at H&M and Urban outfitters, but It's just nice to wear something that has history you know?
I would get these lovely boots:
http://www.lavintage.com/90s%20Brown%20Work%20Boots%209%201/2.htm
And these adorable skirts
http://www.lavintage.com/60s%20Mayan%20Leaf%20Dress.htm
http://www.lavintage.com/70s%20Georgette%20Rose%20Skirt.htm
Thank you SO much for this oppotunity to win $100!! :D
Vintage items tend to be unique! Also, you can find styles that would be harder to find.
I'd probably try to find a dress or a coat for this winter...
Thanks for introducing us to LA Vintage!
I love vintage because it's such a great way to find unique pieces and to be environmentally friendly! I really need this dress from LA Vintage's shop in my life: http://www.lavintage.com/Stacy-Ames-Dress-50s.htm
i love vintage because of the unique factor. i would love to spend $100 on some pretty dresses!
I love vintage because it provides a great way to find original looking pieces that can help make your wardrobe totally unique. I would spend the money on cute skirts and boots that I could layer with tights for the chilly weather.
Vintage creates this timeless fashion that can hold throughout passing fads. There is nothing like finding a one of a kind vintage find. I would love buy the Lucilla Party Dress and keep my eyes out for something else.
vintage is just plain awesome. its everything you want and can't seem to find nowadays. i want all!
i would buy the 90s Fuana Jummper, 80s Kasey Knit Blouse and the Starship Bag
I love vintage because I can get a full sequin shirt for $4, cool geometric shaped jackets for $5, and designer shirts for $5 because no one else at goodwill knows who Oscar De La Renta is haha. Nothing better than getting cooooooool stuff for supa cheap!
With $100 I would sooo get some rockin' heels because mine are a hot mess.
I will definitely be buying this!
http://www.lavintage.com/70s%20Alexa%20Dear%20Dress.htm
I love vintage because it's so unique! And it represents previous eras that were so cool! I would love the 60s Strawberry Letter Dress and the 60s Alligator Purse!
I love vintage because I love history and anything and everything that keeps history alive. I am the girl who saved the skirt-suit her mother wore on her honey moon when it was destined for the Salvation Army. Clothes have stories, just like anything else... and vintage clothing is especially rich with narrative.
If I won... wow... I don't know. Something blue, probably. I am mad about blues right now. Maybe a nice coat with which to survive the New England cold as I walk to work each day? A dress maybe... with a skirt that spins well. But, really, who knows? Something is bound to catch me by surprise.
vintage is just so practical! it is also very interesting, special, and, to an extent, personal. If I had 100 bucks, I'd definitely have to get a coat and some flannels (because flannels are second to godliness)
Vintage. Hmmm? Why is it so special and unique? Because vintage says something about your character. Vintage evokes nostalgia in me of a time that existed and happened before I was born. I am a History major and find myself romanticizing about the past - including its wonderful fashion! I search always through racks of clothes in thrift stores that scream another century. I am unable to afford many clothes I would like, especially unique vintage pieces that are sold outside thrift stores. With the 100$ giveaway I will be able to add unique pieces to my collection, not found in thrift stores.
One of pieces I would get is the following dress from the 80's:
http://www.lavintage.com/80s-In-Living-Color-Dress.htm
I love the pattern.

I love the pattern.
I wouldn't mind something like:
The Lanvin Biz Lady Blouse 90s
or
The 80s Latoya Leather Jacket (I've been looking for something like that for ages!)
I also love the 80s Black Corset Belt.
Argh so many choices!
i adore vintage clothing. it allows you to be individual and unique because these pieces are not mass produced and available for $20 down at the mall. you arent likely to see anyone else wearing what you are wearing. i am also a great fan of vintage times. i wuld love to go back and live in a different era.
although i love all the clothes i would probably use my voucher to get the brown pixie shoes and the black cougar ankle boots. i have been looking everywhere to find some but they are not easy to find here
I love vintage for several reasons. I love the idea of extending the useful life of items, I love the styles more than things today, I love imagining who wore the garment before and what they did in it, and I love that you're not going to see a bunch of people wearing the exact same thing.
I would spend the gift certificate on dresses/sweaters/shoes.
Oh wow - this site is amazing! I love vintage wear because the clothing is charming and you get to express yourself in a slightly more unique way than the chain stores allow for.
I adore the shoes - triple strap heels and groovy navy platforms!
vintage is classic and can never go out of style :)
I would love the pixie boots if I win. Thanks for the giveaway!
Vintage is amazing because you get something unique and quirky, yet fashionable, for a fraction of the price of buying new! Plus it is good for the environment...... everybody wins!! Yay!!
I would spend $100 on the adorable 60s Lucilla Party Dress to wear to the races here in Melbourne and pair it with a pair of black heels like the Trump Peeptoe Heels. Love this shop!!!
I love vintage because going thrifting is like going on a treasure hunt - an adventure! The pieces are one of a kind and each carry a history.
I'd spend $100 on
http://www.lavintage.com/70s%20Polka%20Peridot%20Dress.htm
- it's so adorable!
And also http://www.lavintage.com/80s-Black-Corset-Belt-XS.htm
Vintage is fine for so many reasons:
1. Green fashion! 2. One of a kind.
3. You have to be imaginative, think of all the ways you can wear and compose and old vintage treasure...
4. And the best: You will hardly find a "twin".
This floral dress stole my heart... ;)
http://www.lavintage.com/80s-Karen-Floral-Dress.htm
Love, Dotti.
i love vintage because there is nothing better than taking something old and making it new again. i love classic styles, but i also love to mix them with modern fashion. the combination of hard and soft really does it for me. i guess i love vintage for a million reasons.
if i won this contest, i would be hard pressed to choose between these:
http://www.lavintage.com/Lucilla-Party-Dress-60s.htm
http://www.lavintage.com/80s-Birds-Of-Paradise--Skirt.htm
http://www.lavintage.com/80s-Twelth-Sailor-Dress.htm
Wow! Thats an amazing giveaway - so generous! Honestly I think it would take me hours of browsing to pick out what to buy if I won. I have been looking for a nice new bag though, and I'd love a new coat for winter. But I did see a lovely 60s lemon dress in there that might tempt me away from being practical about seasons!
I love vintage for many reasons, one of them is my love for history. Vintage is great not because of uniqueness but because of letting you find the most unexpected things, this way you can make your own style and express yourself in a way not determined by the fashions.
I'd spend the $100 on this jacket http://www.lavintage.com/60s-Chic-Parisian-Cardi.htm
and this dress http://www.lavintage.com/Bonnie-Striped-Dress-80s.htm
I like vintage because I can become someone else, I can turn into anyone from any century.
I'll def. be buying some groovy dresses from the 60's.
Thanks!
I love finding/wearing vintage clothes because it takes a special amount of time and energy, and then you end up with the results of having your very own, usually one-of-a-kind piece. As an avid journaler, I also really like to hold onto the past. Why not do it through some of the amazing clothes that have come from it?
I loved the pixie boots. I've been looking for a pair of oxfords. And I also love all the skirts from the 60s and 70s. A-line and colorful. Perfect!
i have loved vintage clothing since i raided my grandmother's attic when i was eleven, and spent the following years wearing the most ridiculous ensembles i could put together. needless to say i was the only junior high schooler wearing polyester bell bottoms, princess sleeved sweaters & tank tops piped in rainbows.
wearing vintage allows for the self expression you could never find elsewhere, and allows you to stand apart from the crowd! if i were to win this gift certificate, i would 1) pee my pants with happiness, and 2) purchase the 90s lisa combat boots because i have been DYING to resurrect this style i.e. rock my favorite 3rd grade outfit: combat boots, socks, tights, jean shorts and dad's oversized white v-neck. help a sister out!
i love vintage, because it gives me the chance to feel like my mommy did. and my mommy was such a cool chick then!
I'm not sure about my purchase. i think i would order a big sweater, a flower-patterned dress or a a really cool shoulder-padded blazer.

(i already postet this once, but i signed up to blogger for beeing available...)
Since 14 I only wear vintage, because I hate, if I see my piece of clothe on an other person. It is embarrassing! I would spent the ammount on a bag, and some shoes.
I love vintage beacause its both classy and fun. Its easy to wear and asy to dress up or down, and what are the chances that someone else would have the same piece? slim...
If I had $100 to spend at LA Vintage's shop (which would be cool as my birthday is Nov. 4th nice present to myself) I would have to buy a cozy knit dress and some killer boots. Its winter and its time to layer up kids!
I love vintage accessories because they add so much character to an outfit! I love bags so I'll probably get a bag if I win!
I love vintage because (1) it's eco-friendly, (2) tells a story about previous owners, and (3) is the opposite of generic.
I would spend the $100 on these 70s cowboy boots and this 80s floral dress.
Vintage pieces have a story behind them. It's romantic to think that some of these pieces lived a life before you. They were there for someone's first kiss, someone's lazy sunday with their favorite friend.
With that in mind, I would grab something like the Eva Nautical Dress and the Patent Leather Perry Purse to go with. They were probably someone's day on a yacht and they'll be mine for a day at an art walk.
I love vintage because you can feel the uniqueness of each piece, you can imagine how was the person who wore it years ago. I think it's special and magical!
I would spend it on the Lilli Ann coat and the Vera Floral Scarf or a cute bag..
i love vintage because it always has a story. i would spend $100 on the lucilla party dress!
what can i say but vintage is the only way to get authentic items from other time periods and I'm a huge fan of the 20s 40s 60s and 80s!!!!! Vintage items have a story. sometimes you get it from the seller, sometimes it's a mystery but the memories contained in vintage items make me feel like i'm a part of our cultural history too. Oh and I'd probably buy some boots that had walked miles on someone else's feet so I could continue the journey.
I just love wearing vintage - the idea of recycling clothes from many seasons past makes me feel giddy inside. There are so many hidden treasures waiting to be coveted out there. That's why I love it.
I'd buy the Rose Petal Harem pants and pair it with a simple tank and killer shoes :)
i love vintage because i love that i'm wearing something that someone else once loved too
I would spend it on boots or a coat. I love fall just for that :)
I love vintage for many reasons, but the most important is that it is just so unique.
I also like the idea of finding the beauty in pieces people has lost interest in, I guess that's why most of my favorite belongings come from thrift stores.
I guess it's all up to you, it doesn't matter if it's an million dollar piece, as long as you feel good in it :)
Vintage makes me feel so confident and original, no doubts :)
I love wearing vintage clothes because they make me feel special, I become a character in my own fantasy world, they make me dream of another time, wonder where that piece came from...
With $100 I would buy this dress: http://www.lavintage.com/Monique-Secretary-Dress-80s.htm
I love vintage because no one else is going to have the exact same piece as you. Everything has a stroy behind it or somekind of previous life you know nothing about. Usually vintage feels like you have owned it for a million years even when its new, in a comforting sort of way.
I would probably invest in a practical yet chic dress, or jacket, something that would be the centerpiece of an outfit, or maybe some shoes!
xx
Maya
p.s. I love all your posts on chictopia!
i looove vintage so i can wear it and try to imagine the person that used to wear it; where they wore it, what they looked like, how they sounded when they talked. (PS i'm a total space cadet...)
anyways, with the gift certificate, i'd either snatch up the delightful 'primary colors sandals' or the 'peachy keen' dress. they're both just so cute!
http://www.lavintage.com/80s%20Neat%20Square%20Dress.htm
I would get this dress. I just keep coming back to it. I REALLY like it. I don't know what I would spend the rest of the hundred on. Accesories, most likely.
I love vintage because I like having unique pieces in my wardrobe that no one else has. That's it. I'm a fashion snob... At least I *think* such a reason might make me a snob.
hmmm i love vintage because it makes my wardrobe unique...
i'd spend the money on the "70s Boho 4th of July Skirt Dress" and the "80s Savannah Garden Skirt"
:)
I like vintage clothing because they have a SOUL! lol I know when I buy vintage, I am getting quality pre-loved clothing :)
I would love to get my hands on this:
http://www.lavintage.com/Katherine-Striped-Jacket-70s.htm
I like vintage because I love to imagine who the person was wearing the piece of clothing before I scooped it off of a fleamarket. I like to go thrifting and come back with loads of very pretty clothes for very little money. Everything is unique so even on webshops you have to "hunt" for that pretty dress that is exactly your size. I guess I like to be a bit adventurous when it comes to buying clothes. And I did not even mention that vintage dresses just make me feel pretty.
I would probably spend the money on one of the very pretty pair of oxfords or lace up boots. I've been looking for a perfect pair of those, and I have to say, their collection is brilliant and exactly my cup of tea.
vintage is my favorite because i won't see someone else walking around with the same thing! actually, funny story, that did happen once, with a friend. we both had the same boots from two different thrift stores 200 miles away! anyway, i'd spend $100 on a new fall jacket or coat!
I quite like vintage clothes because they fit me better. I have a rather small waist and I have to alter clothes in order to make them fit and look presentable. I'd probably spend the money on bulk skirts because I don't wear them often and my mum despairs.
I love vintage clothing because it shows that style trascends fashion's most whimsical trends. Vintage clothes tend to have a better fit and in most cases better quality materials. I am head over hels with the mod fashion and 70's disco looks, so if picked the winner I would have to go with the Roos Atkins Outfit 60s
thank you for the giveaway and good luck to all
Priz
prizpriz at gmail dot com
one more reason to never set foot in a mall...
opps for got to mention i would spend every penny on dresses
I get inspired a lot by vintage era. I love the music, movies, clothes, everything! From Clockwork Orange bowler hat to Breakfast At Tiffany's LBD, from Motley Crue glam rock look to classic timeless suit a la Beatles (in this case, ladysuit, perhaps ;D). Every vintage piece is just so unique and one-of-a-kind. I'm also thrift junkie so it would be really excited to get a beautiful silk blouse from the 80s just for less than $1!! Affordable is one of the main reasons too =D
$100 means a lot to me. if i won that, i would probably buy this MJ Thriller-ish jacket:
http://www.lavintage.com/80s-Latoya-Leather-Jacket.htm
and these awesome granny boots (they're even on sale!):
http://www.lavintage.com/Gangs-of-New-York-Boot.htm
i would buy this too to get the free shipping, teehee:
http://www.lavintage.com/Cleopatra-Bag-%28Vegan-Bag%29.htm
i need a new wardrobe!! and this will definitely help!!
I love vintage because people had such great style in the past, and it's thrilling to find really cool pieces that you know no one else will have! If I won, I'd buy a really adorable skirt like maybe this one:http://www.lavintage.com/80s-Candy-Highway-Skirt.htm
or a sweater like this one:
http://www.lavintage.com/Winona-Floral-Sweater-60s.htm
(:
Of course Boots and shoes!! O love this ones 60s GiGi Go Go Boots 8 and this bag... Navy Baby Purse, this coat... Voyager Coat 60s
Love the 60's!!!
I love vintage because its unique and I like to imagine what the clothes have been through! I would buy myself a cute bag, and maybe a poncho!
I love vintage because vintage pieces are kind of like owning unique antique pieces that can tell a whole story just by looking at what type of fabric or thread is used or even if the garmet has a self-cleaning instructions tag on it or not. Our popular styles today derived from these vintage pieces; that makes it even more awesome to get the opportunity to blend old with the new.
I would definitely spend the $100 on a cool tee and a beautiful dress. I LUST vintage dresses!
d_greene62@yahoo.com
vintage is the best because it makes the look your own.
i'd spend the $100 on boots or a fancy dress.
what make vintage special is that it is a unique piece with history, probably one of a kind. that's why i lovei it..
i would spend on the boots and the outwear.. or maybe the dress and top.. and the heartshape sunglasses.. they are cute!
I'm not sure why I love vintage.. I just do.
My bf says I'm "old mannered", he's like oh you know that movie year 1? You go way back, like way back before Christ.
But anyway, if I won Id buy this dress..
http://www.lavintage.com/Lola%20Lounge%20Dress%2070s.htm
which I think would go lovely with these boots..
http://www.lavintage.com/70s-Alana-Ankle-Boots-9.htm
:)
i love vintage because it's so classy :) and vintage is always in style!
i would probably spend it on shoes...i really want a pair of cute brown ankle boots. then again I love dresses....hehe!
I love vintage cuz it's got character, history, and let's face it...I love a good bargain!
I would buy this dress (http://www.lavintage.com/60s-Darlene-Floral-Dress.htm) because I love the contrast of the floral pattern and mod design!
I'd pair it with these shoes (http://www.lavintage.com/Butterscotch%20Heels%20Size%204%201/2.htm) because they're adorable and they're in my size (a rare find)!
I'd complete the look with this beautiful cherry red clutch (http://www.m0851.com/webstore/index.php?pid=AALFP10&lang=ENG) that I bought at a garage sale for only $4!
my favorite part of shopping vintage is the thrill of the hunt. you never know what kind of treasures you'll over turn or where they'll be hidden.
my favorite piece on the site is that killer sequin 'siren' dress from the '80s! its so over the top- it needs to be part of a crazy vegas weekend!
Oh vintage clothing...
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways...
You, vintage clothing, allow me to leave the house looking like someone who might know a thing or two about tea parties. Or sock hops. Or even dusty libraries filled to the ceiling with books.
You let me be me. Not that one girl that just bought the same dress or shirt or pair of shoes that another girl did.
Thank you so much for this opportunity!
If I won the $100, I would certainly grab:
This awesome dress...
http://www.lavintage.com/Donna-Mae-Dress-50s.htm
And
This also awesome dress...
http://www.lavintage.com/70s-Polka-Peridot-Dress.htm
I love vintage because I love the styles, the clothes tend to suit me well (much better than a lot of modern ones), I'm not a fan of being 'this season' and it's better for the environment for buying new. :)
I would buy one of the gorgeous bags such as '50s Granny Bag' and a lovely dress, maybe 'Sally Girl Dress 50s', it's so pretty!
I love all the options such as era for browsing the site. =]
Florrie x
I love vintage, first and foremost, because of it's asthetic. I always fall in love with vintage or vintage-inspired clothing. Also its quality is something that is hard to find in modern clothes for a reasonable price.
If I won I would probably buy the perfect holiday outfit. A richly coloured dress and delicate shoes to pair with a beautiful 1960s faux fur jacket that's currently sitting in my closet waiting for some love. For some reason Christmas always makes me crave classic glamour :)
I love vintage because it's unique and environmentally friendlier too. Vintage finds are way more fun than boring off-the-rack garments made by small children out of precious environmental resources. There's enough stuff in the world already.
I'd get some 90s SW boots and a 70s dress.
I love vintage because it's girly without being cloying, and it's so unique- even if it's starting to make a comeback, it's not disgustingly mainstream
I would buy this skirt:
http://www.lavintage.com/80s-Candy-Highway-Skirt.htm
But i loved their booties *swoons*
I love vintage coz they are one of a kind and every piece comes with its own story...
oh man, I can't really decide what I would spend it on! I want everything...all d dresses!..but if I were to pick, I'll get one of those bright sunny 60s day dresses...hoping I win! ;)
I love vintage because I like simple silhouettes and good quality clothing. I feel that mass produced clothing made during the present lack the details makes vintage clothes so much more. I really liked the 50s Sally Girl Dress with the sheer baby blue skirt.
Vintage is a wearable piece of historic art, thats why I love it.
:3
So much of what I wear is vintage and thrifted. I love vintage and have worn vintage since I was in high school in the early 90's. Back then it was about me hating what was in stores and feeling like the clothes SUCKED. So, I wore dresses from the 40's and 50's, blazers and jeans from the 70's and I loved boot's from the 60's. I still do it for that reason, though mainstream clothes mimic many vintages styles. You still can't replace the "feel" of something that's 10, 20 or 30 years old. They have an individuality you can't get in something you bought at American Eagle.
I'd use the $100 on a ruffled blouse to wear under my growing collection of vintage jackets, a great pair of boots, and, if I'm lucky...I'm looking for the perfect pair of sailor pants!
I like vintage because so often you're getting something that's really unique.
i'd buy fabulous purses for my sisters for Christmas. And maybe a grey cardigan for myself!
I love vintage because it's so much more beautiful and well-made than modern pieces. Plus it is a chance to have something that no one else has. I would so spend the hundred dollars on this dress:
http://www.lavintage.com/Watercolor-Dress-60s.htm
Love it!!
I love vintage because it gives you an opportunity to be elegant, but also modern by mixing with pieces from different eras. It's like dress-up for grouwn-ups.
Hmm... as to what I would buy? It would depend on the item that calls to me, but I would either look for a well-made, cute coat, a pair of awesome boots, or a beautiful dress.
Mmmm…Vintage clothes are beautiful; everyone knows they make you stand out from a crowd. Women feel different in them, like they’re carrying a part of the past around on their backs. To me, vintage clothes have always matched my aesthetic, and, quite frankly, my body type. I find it easier to find a vintage blouse cut more generously across the bust or a vintage skirt more flattering to my hips. Perhaps this is a reminder of a time when clothes were more carefully tailored, or when society didn’t expect me to be 5’9” and a size 2. Either way, vintage clothes are a wonderful addition to any woman’s closet. L.A. vintage is a well organized site with tons of amazing pieces. I must say, however, that I instantly gravitated to the boots. It is hard to find vintage shoes when you wear a size 10, but they have quite a selection, and I’m definitely eyeing the caramel colored cowboy boots :)
Thanks so much for the awesome giveaway!

Owning a piece of vintage clothing, to me, is like owning a piece of history. Each piece has its own unique story, and wearing it gives you the opportunity to make it your own.
With vintage, you're not confined to the cookie-cutter designs of modern-day fashion, but you're given access to every era of history, and the ability to pick and choose your pieces according to your own taste.
Quality vintage clothing puts a spring in your step and gives you the confidence to make it through the day, and very few things can do that.
If given the opportunity to spend $100 freely at LA Vintage, I would probably purchase
this and/or this.
I love vintage because I love the uniqueness of wearing stuff that's one of a kind and from the past. Also the pieces just seem to have a character of their own.
I love this dress: http://www.lavintage.com/Seashells-And-Sand-Dress-50s.htm
I'd probably buy a dress or some accessories if I won $100.
I love vintage because I'm reusing clothes and not adding to more stuff floating around on this (semi) green earth! I would spend the $100 on the Casey Cowgirl Boots because the ones I found that said "Texas" on a sidewalk in Brooklyn have finally been worn down to the bone and then the 70s Tanglwood St Dress which makes me think of Goldie Hawn somehow. I do now live in a colder climate but I could wear some red thermals under it or something!
Thank you!
i like vintage because you're more then likely not going to be walking down the street and someone wearing the exact same thing as you...
that's a good feeling!
i would buy the sally girl dress with the gift certifcate. i have had my eye on it for foreverrrrr!!
I love vintage because the clothes have a characterized beauty that a lot of clothes don't have anymore.
I would buy a pretty dress to wear to my graduation dinner. :)

I love vintage! I love it because it's so different and unique. It's cute and fun, it's what people called 'trendy' before it got to our modern fashion.
I would buy some cute brown leather laceups, a tweed skirt, and a worn blue jean button up shirt.
I absolutely adore vintage because it is so consistent with my unique personality. I will be moving to France in January so the $100.00 would go towards buying either an exquisite Parisian spirited dress or an outstanding poncho, which I've really been wanting to incorporate into my wardrobe.

i love vintage because
you know there are memories in the floral 60s skirt yuur wearing
it has history and yuu get to make some more. (i never alter vintage stuff)
i would buy a nice summer dress. because its getting really hot in Sydney.
love vintage stuff! gives me that feeling of going back..but then you can work with it and make it work with the new stuff from these days. =)
i love the dresses..especially the spring ones and the boots!!!
I love vintage because each piece has a history of the person who loved the items before.
I would buy the 60s skirts!
I love vintage clothes cause they're the real deal, they're beautiful and aside from that every dress and every bag has its own story, everything is pre-loved
i'd buy:
http://www.lavintage.com/Oriental-Flower-Dress-80s.htm
http://www.lavintage.com/60s%20L.B.D%20Wiggle%20Dress.htm
This shop is absolutely fabulous. I really love vintage clothing, but have a hard time finding good places to shop. I would definitely buy a coat, and maybe a pair of shoes or a belt. I really love the Penguin Tan Coat!
I love wearing vintage because it offers so many different era's and styles to explore, there are no boundaries! I also live for the thrill of finding an amazing vintage piece in an Op Shop that fits. I rarely have enough money to buy selected vintage pieces from specialized stores,so if given the opportunity to, I would spend $100 on:
The 60's Groovy Baby Dress
http://www.lavintage.com/60s-Groovy-Baby-Dress.htm
or
The 60's Green Night Skirt
http://www.lavintage.com/60s-Green-Night-Skirt.htm
or
The 60's Bicycles Horray Skirt
http://www.lavintage.com/60s-Bicycles-Horray-Skirt.htm
Ohhh, they're all so lovely!
I love vintage clothes because they often have that one-of-a-kind feel. I simply like unique objects, especially one's with history.
For the $100 dollars, I would buy:
http://www.lavintage.com/70s-Vanilla-Sky-Blouse.htm
http://www.lavintage.com/Black-Suede-Go-Go-Boots-7.htm
i have always had a deep and precious love for the past. clothing was made differently then. pieces were made with care and quality, and they always made a statement. the reason i love vintage is because when you put on a vintage piece, not only is it yours, but you have taken on the person who owned it before you. you feel classic. you're wearing a part of someone's fashion history, all the while making it part of your own.
if i had to choose between the myriad of amazing items at LA Vintage, i would have to get the 50s pricilla faux fur coat... it's gorgeous! i love beautiful pieces like this one that can either be dressed up or down, so i could get so much mileage out of this coat.
beautiful!
<3 vintagee because it's just waayy more fun to wear vintage out, and still look chic, and be different. ><
I would spend it on 90s Diamond Tassel Jacket awesome or the voyager coat just screams!and maybe a pair of boots. :D

It´s a very difficult answer!!!That a wonderful shop!!I want to win but I case not...I´m sure I will buy something there.
If I won ...oh!I don´t kow what to choose...I think that this "Lilli Ann Coat 60s" and this "90s Ms Harris Dotted Romper"... I know, I know it´s more than 100$...I would have to pay more!!
I love vintage for lots of reasons, bt one of this is the fact that thinking that something has been preloved or survived for so long time make me think that I have something very special in my hands. Moreover, I think that th old shapes, clothes, and trends are sooo wonderful that there is few things in actual fashion so good.
Thank you for your lovely commet in my blog today...o yesterday??If yoare coming some time to Spain ( To Sevilla) exactly call me! I will show you the best places!!

I love vintage because a truly great vintage piece never goes out of style! I love fashion, but I also like being economical, and vintage is always money well spent!
If I won the 100 dollars I would spend it on this

and this
http://www.lavintage.com/Set-of-2-Floral-Print-Scarves.htm
I'm a new grad student short on a cash a new dress and scarf would make my heart so happy!
i hv been drooling for their products since i found ur blog. retro, vintage and cuteness. its so hard to find these stuffs here in japan.
vintage is timeless, unique, affordable, and tells a story. It enables ones soul to be recreated through past lives and enables us to experience and appreciate the past present and future.

i love vintabe because, it´s only one piece of that, unique! and becaouse i love to incorporate od things to combine with new stuff and create beautiful looks. You can´t find the patterns or imitate that´s because what i love it!.
Finally i would spend the money in the Unisa Booties, the Linked Leather Sandals and the beautiful 80s Hot Poker Dress.
And congrats to the lavintage website, you can see every details about everything.
i love vintage because it has some kind of history and really unique.

To be quite honest vintage clothing makes me heart sing.
It seems to me that clothing just looked better in the past. the '80s and '60s are definitely a favorite of mine. Basically I love finding one-of-a-kind pieces.
If I won I'd spend the money on sweaters, the gawdier the better, and probably dresses and funky jewelry.
I like vintage because it's nice to think that my clothing had a life before me. With $100 I would definitely buy a dress from this store...probably the watercolor 60's one.
I love vintage clothing because it's different from what else is out there. Finding a great vintage piece without fail puts me in a great mood -- even if it's only window shopping.
What would I spend my prize money on? The Chocolate and Marshmallows Dress, a dotted romper, and the Unisa booties. :)
I like vintage because you're bringing clothes from the past and mixing them with current pieces. There's also more character with vintage clothes, too.
I'd look for a skirt or two, tops, and especially I'd look at boots.
I love vintage because I love the fact that there was history to it. Vintage has so much more personality to it than new clothes because it's like youre renewing that piece of clothing. Its also unique so not everyone else has it which is what I love about vintage. I would spend the $100 at LA vintage on the "Diane Von Furstenberg Jumpsuit 80s"
I love vintage because I just love experiencing times from the past. I feel like wearing vintage is a way to connect with people and places that I physically and temporally cannot. I actually put on my mom's vintage Gunne Sax wedding dress last night and I've always wanted her dress to be my wedding dress but I've never fit in it before. Last night it fit me! I started crying because as soon as the zipper actually made it all the way to the top I felt like the dress transferred from my mom to me. Even though I don't have anyone to marry me yet, it was really moving. That's what I love about vintage.
I think it would be so hard to choose things from LAVintage! Though I am loving the Siren Mini Cocktail dress, so fun!
Vintage just has so much more personality than modern clothing... I like my clothes to tell a story that's more interesting than child labor and mass production. It also feels like any treasures that you do find are so much more special because they're one and only-ies.
If I received the giftcard, I'd pick up some 80s oxford booties, maybe some sunnies and a Pucci-esque scarf.

If I have a child, I would give my vintage dress to my child!

1.60s High Heel Oxfords 8(http://www.lavintage.com/60s-High-Heel-Oxfords-8.htm)
2. Lenah Prairie Romper 70s
(http://www.lavintage.com/Lenah-Prairie-Romper-70s.htm)

Vintage makes you feel like you're wearing a piece of the past, plus, there's something adrenalin-rushing about the romanticism of wearing something someone wore to an old-world ball you only have dreamt of!
I would totally buy the Siren Mini Cocktail Dress 80s if I won! What a gorgeous dress!
