When I first saw The Brothers Bloom in theaters I fell in love with Penelope (the epileptic photographer and potential smuggler) and her quirky fashion sense. She paired 60's style sack/shift dresses with heavy black boots, hats, and opaque tights. Following the film I finally felt the call of the grunge and Doc Marten trend, but I have a hard time investing in shoes so outside my usual style. So, these were actually purchased from Forever 21 on the cheap with that gift card I won. Now I'm dressed like Penelope, so hopefully I will soon start having similar adventures with less than scrupulous characters...

Outfit details: jacket- Forever 21, dress- H&M, tights- street vendor, necklace- Talonalia, boots- Forever 21

Wow. This might be my favorite outfit you've worn to date. Everything works so perfectly - the dark green of your dress is gorgeous with your hair and skin color, the leopard print is not too loud, and the boots are the absolute perfect finishing touch!
I never thought I would be into the grunge trend either, but over the summer I fell in love with the idea of Doc Martens and consequently found a pair that I love. I think they're definitely worth the investment, and there are so many pairs constantly for sale on eBay if you don't want to pay so much for new ones. (Personally, I think they look cooler a little scruffy and worn.)
Sweet tights with the perfect pair of grungy boots...
How I love those beautiful Autumn leaves...incredibly gorgeous & picturesque photos!
xx
I still have gotten around to watching this movie which is really strange given how much I was looking forward to it coming out. I think one of the main things that attracted me to it was Rachel Weiss' outfits! Suffice to say, I love this outfit!
PS: Happy Halloween!!
No fair! I so want those tights! They are awesome.
I adore those tights!
great outfit. those tights are amazing. the meetup sounds like so much fun, wish i could attend
I love the photo of the leaves floating in the water, very pretty. I like your tights too. :)

Absolutely lovely! :) I hope great adventures find you soon.
Penelope won me over, too! you channeled her spot on. soooo good.
i have those same shoes except in white! i kinda regret not taking the plunge and investing in classic docs though 'cause they don't get much wear--this always happens to me with impulse buys :/
Sigh, my blog isn't really fashion, food, or home- focused. I might just have to order those boots because they look great! I like the 90's injection (without getting too overboard or ridiculous).
all the photos are gorgeoussss, particularly the first one :)
really wish i could go to the gathering!
love the outfits, i want shoes like those toooo
Your photos are always so lovely!
You are making me want to sye my hair red!

leopard jacket + hunter green velvet dress (my favorite color btw) + dr.m-inspired boots = perfect fall outfit. i love F21. H&M, too. :)
your outfit reminds me of one of my miniatures... i have a miniature dress form covered with an outfit, very similar to yours. green velvet baby doll with a leopard scarf. i use it as a desk accessory, it's so fun to look at. i so adore your outfits!
I have actually also thought about getting Doc Martens but didn't buy them for the same reason as you didn't. They're technically not my style and I don't have enough money now to splurge. Plus, the knock-offs from H&M aren't that super cheap either(if you look at the price in Dollar terms)
Anyways, your outfit is so great and it's a good thing that you bought those shoes, they look fab on you.
I have actually also thought about making a *things I still want to do* list but I would probably mainly write down normal things I haven't done yet but really want to do. Like carving a pumpkin or going to an apple orchard. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that, but alas, I am not American ;)
Aw, I think you wear those boots exceedingly well! I love how you styled this entire outfit with the leopard print coat, printed tights, and the green dress.
Fall weather really suits your outfits - the location is beautiful and goes well with your earth-toned ensemble.
I think I might need to go see Brother Bloom now! You look great.
the tights are great, i've never seen anything like these in France.
and i love the color of the dress :)
leen

aaah your pictures make me wish autumn was here in Melbourne instead of spring! looking very lovely. adore the green dress!
Wld juz like to comment on the Garden of Bones post but I'm unable to there so I'll post here. The 2nd skellie's pic has his skullcap on like a helmet - reminds me of those Vietcong helmets :P
The fall photos are gorgeous once again !!
I really love it so much:)
And your leopard print coat with the dress is just stunning ! Adore it so much and I guess more shopping at F21 is needed .
Gorgeous tights as well!
Absolutely love your outfit, that dress is so gorgeous, especially the color! And ugh, I'm kind of jealous that it looks like fall there, well, it's fall here too, but there are no trees really, and it still feels like summer!
Hope you are well, dear! <3
xoxo,
S-C
Such amazing dress and tights! Love your pictures as usual. How I hope I can find such beautiful scenery too!
Love those boots :) xx
you said that those shoes so outside your usual style, but it's suits to you very well !
I knowww!!!!Doc Marten boots are awesomeee!!Been seeing a lot of them on Lookbook.everybody's wearing them and they look good on everyone!!!and i especially love the combination of something very sweet in top with those grunge boots.it's a must have. But it's pretty expensiveee hermmm...
Awe wish I could make it! Sadly I don't go home as often as I should. ON another note, I LOVED Brothers Bloom and loved Rachel Weiss' style in that movie. Great inspiration.
I like this look on you. Kinda roughens up your usual look. Boots with the amazing tights plus the animal print coat = Awesome! Awesome as in you can hear Barney Stinson saying Awesome in a high-pitched voice. Lol.
Happy Halloween, Rebecca!
xoxo
Great outfit ;)
Love the colors in all the pictures
Saludos,
Clau!
Beautiful shots
Oh Doc Martens! I still have a pair of black ones that are about 12 years old! They may be an investment but,my, they last forever!
Oh, man, The Brothers Bloom was absolutely delightful. Penelope's wardrobe was just a minor--but crucial--part of the film's wonderfulness. Rachel Weisz wearing it made the style seem elegant and quirky.
i really really really love those tights and the jacket and the contrast of that emerald green with your hair color is just perfection.
I've always loved that jacket. I see it around D.C. here and there... I have the dress in that same fabric. Fab!
i love this outfit! and the pictures of the leaves are super cute!
I think I am going to turn to you for all my tight inspiration.
<3
Great outfit!! I'm with you on not wanting to invest too much in shoes that you're unsure of - but these boots look pretty amazing! I agree that Penelope's style was something to be emulated!
This post really makes me wish I still had my old DMs. Even if they did make my feet look huge!
The jewelry is exquisite and I love how you used that jacket in a smart way. I've not quite had the intrepid spirit you have to try an all-over animal print like that, but you have inspired me to be bold and give it proper consideration!
Those boots look GREAT! They look really good for boots from F21. That jacket's so good too, I know I say everything's good but it really is. You have such a good eye for picking out what works for you.
C'est très romantique et les photos sont magnifiques, j'adore la veste en léopard
