Will-O-The-Wisps

These images of light art from LAPP (Light Art Performance Photography) are blowing me away. The site offers a variety of beautiful and original light art creations, but I find the juxtaposition of these sleek, modern globes with breathtaking natural and historic-seeming backgrounds especially stunning.
They remind me of the legends of will-o-the-wisps or ghostly lights that would lead hapless wanderers astray in folk lore. They seem magical and out of place in their surroundings...and yet, I see so many references to history, fairy tales, and new more modern legends...

Oh wow. Incredible. I've tried playing with light in photographs but nothing as amazing as this. There was a girl in my photography class that did some different but amazing stuff.

Oh wow, I am always wondering how you can make those kinds of images.
They do remind me of some little UFO that just landed :)

those are gorgeous! i love your blog btw, i find it so inspirational how you can wear something so many different times and still make it look new, fresh and unique! So refreshing to see that instead of people who chuck things away after a one time wear!

These are incredible. How does someone create something like this (Note pathetic, amateur "photographer" here)?
I love the bottom one, it reminds me a bit of the pumpkin carriage in Cinderella.

I actually have that second shot saved away on my hard drive. There is just something so wonderfully poetic about using light to quite literally paint in a photograph. Hope you are having a gorgeous weekend :)
