When I was given the opportunity to chose an item from the site Shopcuffs to review, I tried to keep in mind the above principles. The site offers a mix of reconstructed finds, vintage, and very current items. I forced myself to resist their wonderful collection of vintage gems and to focus on a dress that would feel both modern and timeless. From browsing Shopcuffs the "So Caught Up In You" dress seemed to be a good example of what I was looking for. The intricate cording seemed to be an interesting take on the lace trend that has been around for several seasons and we all know black is a malleable color. In person, the dress is made from a very lightweight nearly sheer material and the size runs large. This volume isn't really a problem in a sack dress--it just gives you more material to play with. The whole transaction went so smoothly I will very likely be returning to Shopcuffs to deplete my wallet...
To demonstrate the versatility of the dress here's a remix styling the dress from a summer appropriate look to more layered fall outfits.

This dress is really cool and I am so sure you can wear it forever! I am so like you, I am always try to buy key pieces to increase, little by little, my closet…People always think that I have more that I rally have. My sisters, for example, have more clothes than me. However, they seem to have less…

Nice remixing. I definitely learn something from fashion bloggers about versatility though! I try to stick to the same principle as well... but somehow my closet keeps growing.

Loving that detail, and you are such an inspiration for remixing :)
aah i love how creative you are! whenever i feel lazy and think that i have nothing to wear, i just think of you and how you can make anything, ANYTHING, look cool and new. i've been reading your blog forever, but i never commented until today because i was always so intimidated by how many comments you had for each post, but i've just created a blog myself, so if you ever have a second to spare (but only, of course, if you'd like to!), drop by! i hope you're well!
Cute dress!! I liked it the moste with the white jacket:P Looks really good:) It's fun to experiment right?:D
hugs
beautiful dress! it looks lovely, i love the sleeves. the 5th outfit is perfect.
That dress is so amazing, I am actually speechless... I would buy it of you!
What an amazing find!
WOW! Inspirational post, no more whining from me about not a thing to wear! Look at what you accomplished!
Amazing details on those sleeves - really like it with the beige jacket too!

What a cool dress! I love your remix posts; it's nice to see your creativity in action :)
All renditions are gorgeous but the one paired with boots is definitely my favorite.
This dress is stunning!
The detailing on the dress is so gorgeous! Love it with the green belt & the UO jacket and Greek boots! (well love all the remixes, but those were my fave) :)
xx
love your 3rd to last look - and i like how you wear it as a shirt in the last look! Good to know i'm not the only one out there tucking dresses into bottoms!
that's some beautiful detailing there. I like the first look a lot mainly because it's easy to put together but it looks good! I also like the outfit with the...er...fascinator? is that what those things are called? o_O fascinating, indeed.
Love the remix, of course! And what a GORGEOUS dress! I would also layer it over a fun-colored turtleneck in the winter...the neck detailing would look great over a colorful fabric.
I love the cut=out detail of the dress and the different ways you styled it. It's true, accessories can do wonders in changing the look of a single dress. Great styling!
Ohh the lace-like detailing is great! I think you've demonstrated its versatility well enough with all those different outfits. :}
My favorite has got to be the green belt, floral(?) fascinator, and those tights. Perrrrrfect.
You made the perfect solution and, of course, you know just how to wear it!
Definitely a nice option other than lace!
nice! i hate having those items in your wardrobe that you like but just don't go with your other things. you can't get rid of it, but you can't wear it. yay for versatility!
oh and p.s. how do you keep up with over 50 comments? haha
i like the look with the green belt best, that hair band is amazing!
Gorgeous dress! I love the way you styled it. It's very versatile, but also has enough detail to be worn pretty simply. Love it.
beautiful dress! the lace detail definitely makes it. i love your remixes!
You are a genius! Your remixes are perfect and so creative. So incredibly impressive!
Burgundy and green, how innovative! I love them all, but that one especially.
So adorable, I love the way you change up dresses!
this dress is LOVELY. and you are amazingly creative with it!
Love all your remixes as usual!
I love these post of yours; they really show how versatile you are :)
Re:
Yes, I love experimenting with textures and fabric - especially since I, as you point out, wear a small palette :) Thank you for all your lovely comments; I really appreciate them!
i love all the looks, but my eyes are really into that colorful vintage bag. so catchy!

Oh, such a beautiful dress! It Looks so timeless!
All of your outfits are so cute and versatile, definitely. Makes me wanna go take a second look through my closet to see what I can do! :)
I love the one with the jacket and the one with the green belt.
your clothing remixes are amazing. i love how you are able to remix clothing so well.
The cording detail is amazing. I like this dress best when you wore it with the green waist belt because it maintains your figure, without a waist belt you kind of lose your lovely waist which is a bit of a shame. Very cool dress though :)
New Zealand style at www.sophistokat.blogspot.com
ooh, the dress certainly is lovely and versatile. I'll have to check out the site!
You have the best tights. No joke.
Such a versitile dress! I love you put all the different outfits together, you have a really great style.
i liked almost all of them but my favs and the ones i would wear are definitely the one with the green belt and the white vest!!!!!!!!
Coool! extra nice dress, I love the knitting on top of it, and those lace tights, I cant wait for some chill to get some too!!! ;) every take on the dress is amazing! ++I adore your hair color!
Great remix! My favorite look was the green belt and brown tights and shoe combination. Genius :)
I love the sleeves! What a cool dress. It looks fantastic with you lace tights.
Love the last pair of shoes!
You're so right when you said you had to resist the vintage items they have, they have some real nice ones! Esp the witch doctor bag, i've never come across anything like it before.
I love all the remixes of this dress!and I like the texture! It could be even good for work!
Looks like a grat piece, I love the one whre you look like a parisian chic with your boos and hat!

I really like your fall take on this beautiful dress...
great tutorial - love all looks
kiss
Oh lovely! I always think I've spotted my fave and then I keep scrolling and can't decide :)
I think it's the fascinator outfit, though I love the tights in the next.
Rebecca I've been wondering, you seem to post such big photos at really high quality! When I just make mine a little bigger by editing the html I lose quality drastically despite starting with pretty large files. When you open them up big they look fine but on the blog they're quite rubbish looking. Any clues where I might be going wrong? I wondered if it's anything to do with the layout I'm using. Let me know if you've any ideas! :)
i always love your remixes so much! it looks like a very versatile dress.
I like the fifth look the best. Gorgeous dress. I love it.
Very nice dress, I love the sleeves so much!
It's amazing how many looks you pulled with this dress, now that's what I call talent :) My favorite look is the beret, so french looking :)
Love the dress, the lace tights and that amazing bag!! adorable(L)
All the remixes are so beautiful!

What I really love about that dress is the bell sleeves! The tiniest details make such a difference.
I love your remixes. You have such a cute and feminine style.
