I Keep On Talking Trash But I Never Say Anything

Then followed that beautiful season... Summer....
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Summer is my favorite season. I adore long days that stretch on seemingly without end; even without air conditioning the sensation of sweltering under the bright sun is welcome and warms me to the core. The vivid colors and the heavy air laden with scents is a delight to my senses. I could happily live in state of endless summer and trade all my tights for lightweight shift-dresses, my two pairs of boots for more peep-toe flats, and my lengthening hair for a pixie cut. But before I am prepared for it this season will end and cold weather will descend on me like a plague...

Outfit details: dress- H&M, bag- Shopruche, shoes- Urban Outfitters, ring- gift from my sister, flower- craft store

I love the flower in your hair! And the two prominent colours in your outfit contrasting against each other is such a delight especially when set against the tanned tall grass :DD

Look at that pretty poppy in your hair! I love it! So charming. And I love how coordinated you are with it matching your shoes! Very cute, but not overly matchy-matchy. Even though I LOVE matchy-matchy. XO!

yes, those roles we place on men really annoy me. if guys only knew, you can still be a "man" and wear awesome clothes!

The flower is so pretty and it matches the rest of your outfit so well :)

We should trade locations, because I adore cold weather, yet live in Florida. Wonderful dress, and I love the bright accessories.

I love the color mix of your outfit + landscape :-)

I think that jumping photo is quite possibly the best jumping photo I've ever seen you taken. It's amazing!

I love fantasizing and romanticizing summer much more than I actually love living in the midst of it. I can't stand heat waves and I yearn for chillier days!

Summer is my favorite too! I complained a lot when we had that really hot weather, but now that it's cooling down I'm starting to miss it. I love the way your hair is pinned up, and the flower. And of course, your dress is adorable.

Aah! Sadly it's been a terrible summer here, rainy and cold! For all of July I was wearing woolly jumpers. Improvement today with a little sun though. I love that dress, I came close to buying it and wish I had now seeing it again.

Narnia's Closet said...

adorable as always! i'm actually at that point in summer where i'm waiting for fall so i can sl ip back into my comfortable layers as opposed to trying to find the balance between cute outfits and comfy shorts and t shirts with absolutely no fashion in them

muchlove said...

I love the blue and orange combo, you look very sweet.

PS. did you get my email? sorry if it didn't make any sense! I found a hair clip on the floor and wasn't sure if it fell out of your box or came from somewhere else :p

I like how you descbribe the cold as a plague. I certainly don't agree, but I like your wording. Hmm.

Piglet said...

I love how you wore your hair with the flower.
I think maybe if I removed one month from winter and added an extra one to summer life would be perfect. I could never banish winter all together though, I love boots too much!

Kate said...

I totally disagree, I cannot wait for it to be winter! Love the dress though, and the flower. Is it a poppy?

Lexie said...

sooooo cute! i love your hair + the shape of your dress especially!

Divinity Avenue said...

Love your dress.
With my imminent return northward, I fear that winter will be upon me even more quickly than ever. One of these days I'll live somewhere where it's warm all year...

your hair looks so lovely . these pictures are gorgeous .
aww man. i hate when it gets to that point where all my friends start saying " summer is over"
:(
making me get a little nervous like every year , inevitable i suppose

KD said...

I, too, love summer, but as much as I hate summer ending, I couldn't live without winter. However, I've often thought that when I grow old and fragile and much more susceptible to cold/slipping on ice/etc. I'll go live in the southwest a) because I love it there b) because its pretty close to perpetual summer and c) because I'll have lots of other seniors for company. But then I think that part of summer for me is the beach, and I would want to live in a perpetual summer minus the beach.

Kristin said...

Loving that gorgeous ring!

indigotangerine said...

these pictures embody my most idealistic version of summer, frolicking around in honey colored grass in a dress the color of the sky and shoes the color of tomatos. I love the matching shoes and flower.

I think fall is my favorite season, but I'm definitely a fan of the long, lazy days of summer and the vividness of all the colors under the summer sun.

I adore the color of that dress with the bright red of the shoes and the flower. Gorgeous!

Erin Cathleen said...

Summer is my favorite season, too (though often it dukes it out with autumn). Your pictures so perfectly capture the childlike summertime spirit. And there's that awesome H&M dress again! Emily (from Resplendent Tranquility) calls it "Blue Beauty." Sorry if she's already told you that and I'm being blog-redundant. ;)
