Recently french bloggers Alix (
Cherry Blossom Girl) and Elodie (
Le Mechante) created an homage to the
Cottingley Fairy pictures that fascinated the world for years (and I posted on
here). These new blogger photographs are as lovely as the originals and hold the same power to captivate. The ladies really did a wonderful job of not only re-creating the fairies but channelling the mood and style of the original hoaxers.

wooow, those photos are beautiful. I remember being very young and watching a film adaptation of the story of the cottingley fairies - the story of it and the photos completely enchanted me then, and they still do.
Goodness, they really did an amazing job recreating these... just as magical and captivating as the originals. Thank you for sharing these. :)
I love the originals and I loved Alix post from last month too. who doesn't love a fairy!?

They are great! I love the story behind the stories
These are brilliant! They did an excellent job of capturing the mood of the originals.
This is just what I need today. I've been fixating on faeries myself lately. serendipity!
The pictures are so great. They really capture the feeling and magic of the original.
I love Alix. I've been following her blog for almost a year.
She makes me want to go out and buy a new wardrobe and travel the world without a care!
it was a great post they did wasn't it. and i loved the story when i was little - still do in fact!

I really <3 fairies.
Lovely, what a great way to pay homage!
pretty pictures!
speaking of pictures, for your pictures, is your camera that godly or do you use some sort of program to edit them?
When I saw this post on The Cherry Blossom Girl I absolutely fell in love with it. Thanks for showing me again! ♥

Great pictures!
I love these!! I remember when I saw them, I thought "Whoa! I remember these from Clothes' Horse!" and of course I saved like all the pics to my computer because they were so cool. My favorite was the one of the fairy place.
Ooooh yeah, J'adore Alix's blog!
X♥X♥
Oh I love these! I remember in the fourth grade we read all about the hoax of the Cottingley Fairies and then we watched the movie adapted from the story called, "Fairy Tale: A True Story." I think it is still one of my favorite movies to this day. :)
Oh and I forgot to mention, that if you are interested in fairies, the illustrated book series "Flower Fairies" by Cicely Mary Barker kept me busy for hours. She has written poems for each of the fairies and her illustrations are just beautiful. My favorite is the "Flower Fairies of the Autumn." :)
I absolutely loved Alix's 'revisit' of the Cottingley fairies, absolutely magical! :)
xx
I have been fascinated by the Cottingley Fairy pictures and their story ever since I was a little girl. Even though I knew that they weren't real, their beauty inspired hours of imagination and fun. I was always in awe of the two young girls who tricked the world, and gave a little bit of fairy hope, for so many years.
what an awesome idea!
Oh yes, I just loved these when I saw it. They are so beautiful.
Wow, these are quite wonderful! They did a splendid job!!
Thanks for sharing these!
Cheers,

I saw the pics on Alix's website and loved them too. How I wish there were real fairies in the world:)
Sweet! A lovely homage!
Ohh wow those are some gorgeous photo's,they look like they just came out of a story book! :)
I gave you an award! Check it out at http://asimplefate.blogspot.com/
I love these pictures, too! The editing is so good...
It is interesting how photos and reality have seperated today. When the photos were taken, fixing photos was generally conceived as possible, hence the mass belief. Today, we distrust everything we see, rather assuming it to be manipulated.
i'd love to see you recreate these!
These photos are so beautiful, I love how true they've remained to the original.
xx
These are beautiful, I love how the sepia tone really makes it seem just like the original.
Lovely! And so etheral.
Aww, the recreations are so cute! But I have to say, the originals hold all the true appeal for me.
lovely. appreciate that you made the connection between the two.
both, inspired.
*bisous*
I saw the post on Alix's blog....such a creative idea!
This makes me feel like I should put much more effort into my blog! The creativity is amazing.
The pictures are amazingly beautiful.
i have always been faschinated by fairies. i used to build houses and make food for them when i was little.
do you remember that movie called "fairy tale: a true story" that came out in the 90's? its about this whole event :)
They did a great job. They look as good as the originals.
I love what they did with it and Cherry Blossom Girl has such a fairy tale blog
I am familiar with the originals and I think the bloggers did a great job recreating them! I love the one girl's giant bow on her head.
Those pictures are lovely.
