I always marvelled as a child how much I had matured from year to year: age 7 was a different continent than age 9. But these past few years...my knowledge continues to grow of course, but little else, and I fear stagnation.
I really love the butterfly belt! And the top, the way it scoops down in the back, just lovely. And I'm turning into a sucker for polkadots. =) Nice tats. ;)
It's funny, you look so petite and, from first impressions long ago you seemed like a young girl, but the more I read on the more you seem so womanly, despite your (apparent) petiteness!
I love the lovely goldenrod skirt! Just the color alone makes me happy.
Change is inherent in the human condition. I recently had a "reunion" of sorts with people I haven't seen for over 10 years. We are all very different people now, but not so changed that we can't laugh and relive old memories. It is true that we are a sum of our experiences, and that's probably what changes us, but earlier experiences serve as a bedrock of sorts.
My first reaction to your words was that I feel just the opposite, feeling that it's strange that I've felt to be the same person for so long. But, upon further thought, I realized that that's not true at all. While I've felt like an adult in consciousness for 3-4 years already, that doesn't mean I'm not an entirely different person than I was. The concept of self is such a strange thing. That we have an identity that transcends time is somewhat preposterous to me...
I adore the 2nd outfit. The scarf and dress are perfection together.
i love when you wear scoop dresses that display your tattoos!
also .. sometimes i think i am pretty much the same girl i was when i was younger, but other times i feel entirely different. it just depends i suppose.
I feel like I am becomming myself more and more each year. I stay the same being but I know myself and others so much better now than 10 or even 2 years ago that I am another person in my behavior as much as in my thoughts. Growing up is great and I am looking forward to becoming an old granny and reaching peace with myself and the world around while enjoying whatever inventions there are then... :) love christina
@Melody, they're not butterflies, they're marlet birds (mythological birds without feet)...I drew them myself and got them inked at a tatoo parlor...not sure what you mean by "where."
Oooh! Lovely outfits! I love every aspect of the first! The shirt, the skirt, the belt, the shoes! And the dress in the second is beautiful too! <3 <3 <3
Two perfect outfits :) Love the mustard yellow skirt with the butterfly belt, love how the stripy top shows off your marlet birds and love the starry dress! Beautiful post.
wow love your tattoos ! great that i get to see them. you are full of surprises . i remember you mentioned them though you look great and love the mustard skirt and stripes . your style is so gorgeous and you are always true to yuur look i love that you have a defined signature style .. thanks for all your comments
It's great to see you featuring Anais Nin. She is the dictionary definition of an inspiring woman. My favorite quote is hers is perhaps her most famous, "There comes a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud is more painful than the risk it takes to blossom.".
I love the color combination of the first few photos of you in the pencil skirt and the striped blue shirt.
That first outfit is what I consider the epitome of chic. Nothing says chic like a striped top and a plain skirt. The leather adds a lovely touch as well.

By the way, may I steal each piece from your first outfit?! It's amazing!!
Mmmm I always try to live with zero regrets, although that doesn't come out as planned. Then I change for the better.

It is strange to look back and see how much we have changed. Somewhat scary, but good.

That H&M scarf is beautiful.
I really love the butterfly belt! And the top, the way it scoops down in the back, just lovely. And I'm turning into a sucker for polkadots. =) Nice tats. ;)
There are so many good things going on in these photos - the leather skirt, the stripes, the dress with the clashing scarf (love that!). Very nice!
