Possibilities Become Limitless

"Limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless." -Jamie Paolinetti
My wardrobe may not be the size of one of the great pyramids and certainly costs a lot less than those celebrities that never repeat a dress, but I'd like to think a closet is as big as the owner's imagination. If that is the case then my wardrobe can definitely fit Narnia and the missing link...This newish teal dress of mine is from H&M.the clothes horse, shirtdress, remix, daily outfit, teal, summer

love what you said, the size is definitely as big as the owner's imagination. right at this moment i'm resisting splurging in the topshop sale being my wardrobe is too big for my imagination!! i keep forgetting things i own, it's shameful

the dress is very pretty! i think it looks best here with the red tights, very simple and pretty

I love the way you remixed that dress in so many different ways! I know you do this a lot, but seeing it all in one post was a bit of a revelation. I like it! (And are those shoes really Dr. Scholl's? They're hot!)

Ouh I love all those combinations I'm trying to pick my fav. but I can't I think I'll have to say 3-4-5 are the best.
My wardrobe is definitely to big for my imagination but I still splurge all the time it's terrible (although I mainly buy shoes so is it really that bad?)

I agree with you, for wardrobe it's about being creative and with life i think we have limitless potential. we have the capacity to push ourselves just a little further and harder to reach the next step.

Great dress, I love the color. Might have to nip over to H&M and check out what other dresses they have. I am in need of a few summer dresses to wear.

Rosie Unknown said...

You, and your photos inspire me! I hope to some day be able to mix and match and layer as well as you do!

Love all these outfit mixes! Especially the yellow skirt, the one right under that, and the one under that, lol. They all look great!

I think the "librarian" look (last pic) is my favourite, though maybe as a glasses-wearer I am slightly biased... The dress is beautiful, just the right amount of both casual and pretty.

I love your dress (:

Creative and fun! You have great accessories. I may be imaginative but I have short attention span when it comes to shopping for accessories. Hence, the boring clothes. :D

lisa said...

This teal dress looks lovely on you and I love how you styled it in so many different ways! I definitely agree that a wardrobe is only as big as the imagination of its owner. I'm trying to find ways of wearing what I already own so that it looks fresh.

Diana said...

I love how you found so many ways to remix this dress. You look fab in every one!

shopgirl28 said...

I like the color of the dress. I love how well your imagination works with styling outfits in different ways.

Great post! You have great ideas for switching up your wardrobe. I really need to start being more resourceful like you. :)

my favourite look is the one with the mustard dress! doesn't it kind of bunch up under the skirt though?

Really cute dress and what a great color! Looks 4 & 5 are best without a doubt.

Mary said...

Wait, I meant looks 5 & 6 are best. Fashion...yes. Counting... not so much :)

Isabel said...

I wholeheartedly agree! You are sooo good at remixing. My closet can fit onto into one wardrobe plus a rolling rack (still pretty big, at least for a nobody like me) but I feel like I never wear the same thing twice!

my fave look is the last. i absolutely adore it! you have such a fashionable imagination! kudos to you!

Wanderlusting said...

Funnily enough, I would love to have all your shoes featured right now! As you know I don't need anymore but...I guess I am always searching for that PERFECT shoe..not sure if they exist though!

I would downsize my closet if I didn't miss things. I find having too much can hamper your creativity!!

PS - the F21 dress was from last year or the year before. It is so cool, had pockets and two layer...but I keep seeing them rotate old stuff so I am sure it will come back into rotation again. I would buy one again in yellow!

Gorgeous dress...love how you can wear it in so many different ways.

Great quote and I agree with you 100%. Your new teal dress is lovely. Each remix is equally amazing. I'm in love with outfit #5. Teal + plum = !!!

I saw those little green shoes at H&M today, but they only had 1 pair left and it wasn't my size :( I might have to stalk them for a while in hopes that they get another shipment in...

It's great how you can use the one item in so many different ways! I love them all but I think my favourite would be the one with the beret! Beautiful!

Teal looks great on you...Love the various looks you came up with!

love the vintage fascinator

Danielle de la Mont said...

You have an eye for the best colours! In many ways I prefer seeing you wear something multiple ways and truly 'living' in a garment than seeing a beautiful dress pasted on a celebrity, there's nothing personal about it. Clothes should be inhabited not worn :)

muchlove said...

I love what you wrote. So true. I've been stopping myself from buying new clothes because I know there's still plenty of stuff in my wardrobe that I could remix.
I love the dress + vest combo. *inspired*

Playing with combinations is fun!! For me, I tend to find I'm not great at combining, particularly with dresses. These outfits are all so different!

"a closet is as big as the owner's imagination" - you're so right on that! A few pieces can make endless combinations!

That's such a great dress!

The colour of the dress looks so good with your hair!
I love how you make a point of remixing things, it's easy to get into a mindset that you constantly have to keep getting new things, especially when you read so many fashion blogs. You're definitely a wardrobe inspiration!

Brilliant post! Love all the outfits you've managed to come up with but am particularly fond of the last 3.
Your fascinator adds a little vintage 'je-ne-sais-quoi'.

i love the white vest and the wedge shoe. you really know how to play with the camera. You're always sooo cute

Layneen said...

U look great =D
Wanna ask you, do u take your pictures with a ... professionel camera or with a normal one?

Sorry for the bad english, I'm morroccan , so i speak french ...

xoxo
Take care

Ps: where r u from?

The Clothes Horse said...

@Layneen,
My camera is a Canon Rebel xs, it isn't exactly what I would call "professional." I really don't think it is the camera that makes the pictures either, I had a Canon Powershot I was really happy with until I broke it and I got nearly the same picture quality and the same type of images.
And where am I from? I've lived on 3 continents, in 4 countries, and 7 different states. I'm from all over, I grew up moving every 3 years, but I am American.

Nadine said...

You're so right: one dress many different ways!

kater said...

One of my favorite things about your blog is that you rotate clothing! It is so much more a real wardobe, in the best possible way. It's that you actually live in your clothes, not just wear them, and seem to truly take joy in each outfit!

luv how you paired it with the yellow skirt and the outfit with the brown tights and the lil head piece, you look hawt lady!

Endless possibilities! Wonderful post, my favorite was the dress made into top with yellow skirt and the 'fascinator- vintage'. It's a lovely accessory.

Wishing you a Happy 4th! :)

Such a beautiful dress, I love the colour. Your wedges in the second look are so lovely, and I adore that sparkly beret. The last look is definitely my favourite :)

And I completely agree with what you said. I may not have a lot of clothes, but each piece I do have, I love, so mixing them up is all the more easier. Besides, even the smallest change can totally alter a look.

I love it when you do these; It definitely takes a lot of patience to do!
