This dress from Anthropologie is one of the great pieces I am borrowing from "the Closet." Ironically, I think I look more retro in this modern dress than many of my vintage ones. I believe it is the tones, which really seem to emphasis my paleness. When I was in high school I was afraid to wear a lot of black because I always thought it would make me look like a goth or a vampire...

Outfit details: dress- Anthropologie via Weardrobe, belt- vintage, bag- Pull and Bear, shoes- Urban Outfitters, sunnies- Urban Outfitters, ring- Made Her ThinkHere's a little sampling of the films I have been enjoying lately.

oh, Bringing Up Baby is so hilarious! every time it's on TV I find myself watching, whether I have the time or not...
Your sweet plaid dress paired with that fab belt...love it!
I bet high school kids these days want to be pale because of the vampire fad. :D
Anyway, I just want to say that I admire you for taking these fashion photos. I've started posting fashion-y stuff on my personal blog and posing for the photos is the hardest part. I will definitely be taking cues from you, if you don't mind. :D
I recently watched Bringing Up Baby, and it was adorable!
the neckline is so great on this! and I love how you added the whimsical little belt
you look lovely here!-are you wearing lipstick? the dress seems to go perfect with the background
and thankyou for the advise on picture-sizing! :.)
Indeed, beautiful outfit and photos! I love it all, the whole post :)
it's such a great project!
your photos are always topnotch. setting is great, tones, composition. beautiful!
as for those movies, i've never seen any of them. i'll try to check them out this summer.
I like your many hairstyle and I , love your dressing :)))
The dress looks great on you! And I say you should use the vampire-like paleness to your advantage, what with the Twilight craze. ;)
daddy long legs - that brings back a host of memories. and that dress is beautiful - the colouring looks great on you xx

I love the dress on you! All these beach photos are making me want to spend all day at the beach and do nothing! I haven't seen any of the movies you're watching so I'll be renting them :-) xxoxoxoxo
what a great idea the closet is. i get called a goth quite often, being pale & dark - when will people realise it is NOT a compliment!
Nice outfit!! Has your style been inspired by the films you've been watching lately? http://notthathaute.blogspot.com
That's a cool project indeed!
Love Bringing Up Baby!
Love the collar on your dress. And your ring! You have such great vintage/inspired accessories.
Such a cute dress! And red lipstick is definitely your thing. Seriously.
I love black. I think you only look gothic if you've got some sort of metal hanging off you and/or the makeup. Black is classy and I like that it highlights how pale I am.
Oh wow, that dress really does look vintage! I adore the collar on it. :)
The colors are beautiful on you!
Stunning photos! The dress looks absolutely beautiful with your hair!
There's nothing wrong with being pale! I wear black to purposley to show off my creamy pale skin! You should do the same!
Oh you to look lovely in that dress. The colour of that belt goes perfectly with that dress. Being pale is great, pale and interesting beats fake tan any day.
Love the dress...it really suits you..

Where do you find such amazing old movies??
It's such a pretty dress and looks so lovely on you! :-)
lovely pictures! your outfit is great too!
i love dresses with pockets!
The collar on that dress is adorable.
Great movies! :) LOVE that plaid dress, you look gorgeous in it, and your pics are so beautiful, as always!
xx
The collar on that dress is beautiful and so is your ivory skin. I had a friend with the same pale skin problem. She constantly wore bright colors to offset her translusent skin and black hair but people still asked her if she was a goth.
I adore Bonnie & Clyde!
Great dress! I love Anthropologie... it's one of my favorite places to shop (though I usually have to wait for things I like to appear in the sale racks).
Also adore your films... I don't think I've ever seen 'Daddy Long Legs'? Will have to find, I love a good tango. :)
I like very much this dress! I think that pale skin is the best for red lips ^^
This is off topic, but for Modcloth (I don't know if this is just me) the "horses" code wasn't working. Using "strawberry" did though, and it does the same thing.
Oh! This dress is just the sweetest :)
love your taste in film . your hairstlye is adorable . and weardrobe is great no?
they are doing an nyc meet up nd i cant wait to go.
love your dress too .
luv that you put your hair up for this dress bc the collar rocks!!! very lovely dress indeed and it looks totally vintage.

your paleness is gorgeous! I think you've embraced it with the fabulous super red nails and lips.
I really like the collar on that dress!
Gorgeous dress, looks comfy and fun. Your nails is pretty!
Ahhh Cleopatra is a classic. I've been wanting to watch Daddy Long Legs for a longtimenow, just never had the chance.
Im really pale too!! but i just love it I dont even like to tan but yeah i have the same fear but i dont really care and i wear a lot of black!! love your blog !!
That Weardrobe project sounds so cool! I absolutely love the collar on this dress. I should get myself to the beach one of these days--gotta love WA beaches.

That dress is so perfect! It does look very retro on you. Lovely, though, as always. Looks like you are enjoying Puget sound beach creatures as well!

Great movies and I have got same butterfly belt!
Cute outfit as always!

the dress is beautiful and i think it matches perfectly your hairstyle :) plus the belt is really cute

i LOVE that ring! its so industrial and dangerous looking.
The caption is a line from "Bring up Baby", isn't it?
I'm totally in love with the colours of the dress!
Gorgeous pictures! You chose that dress well.
I like the butterfly brooch on the belt of the dress. It's gorgeous. I can't believe they're remaking Bonnie and Clyde, with Hilary Duff. I have mixed thoughts on it.
I just love that first pic of you!
That dress was made for you! Your hair and complexion are so pretty with it! Love, love Bonnie and Clyde - Fay looks superb throughout the film, doesn't she?
