If I know any person's style better than I know my own, it is my mother's. I swear my fascination with sea shells and other ocean tokens is inherited from her. When I saw this Aryn K dress in the
Weardrobe closet I knew my mother would love it--and I was correct. There might be some people who can dress entirely for themselves, but I am not one of them. Sometimes dressing to please other people isn't terrible--don't we wear gifts around those who gave them to show our appreciation?
The subject of gifts transitions me nicely into my new Seychelles heels. They are a gift from my wonderful sisters for my college graduation. I feel marvelously tall in them and have yet to fall on my face...

Outfit details: dress- Aryn K via
Weardrobe, blazer- Ralph Lauren via eBay, tights- Target, belt- vintage, shoes- Seychelles via my sisters, sunglasses- Urban Outfitters, necklace- China Town
I also trotted up to Mount Rainier the other day and wore
this.

I love your outfit! So adorable, and it goes to show how one can take pieces from many different places and create a great looking outfit out of it.
Wow I LOVE this outfit, definitely on of my faves. It's gorgeous, every piece of it :)
That dress! It was an excellent borrow from the Closet. I think the bright colors suit your skin well and you should wear them more often! And the shoes! They remind me of 70's disco platforms. Are they comfortable to walk in?
The colours of that dress are so pretty :) And your shoes looks fabulous! I think dressing for other people once in a while is always worth. Every so often I make sure to wear something I know my mother or father will really like, just to see them smile. And wow, I so wish there were mountains around here, it is almost as if I have forgotten what 'real' nature feels like.
I was actually just wondering if I could wear black tights with my new shoes that kinda look like yours. Now I have my answer! :)
the colors in that dress are so vibrant and amazing, I love your contrast with those great shoes
Those shoes are awesome, and the photos lovely!
Haven't been to Rainier yet (though been very close) - love the Northwest in the summer!
PS those shoes and that dress are awesome. Simply.
That dress is so beautiful! I love how bright and colorful it is. I wish I had more yellow and orange things in my closet. Those colors just seem to exude happiness.
oh! i like this outfit very much! the colors. shoes..everything! haha when i wear heels i like the feeling of being tall too ^_^

The print on the dress is amazing. I admire how you outdo yourself every time; you're full of surprises! xo
very nice outfit, love the warm colours
I love your chunky belt and your shoes are lovely!
If those shoes are wooden/leather soled I'd love them more than I already do.
It's also nice to be complimented by one's mother! I love it with the blazer and the shoes are fab!
Ooo, those shoes are exquisite!

That is a very beautiful dress!! I love the belt around it!
This dress is a dream, it's so great there is the waredrobe closet, you can try things you might never expect. Thats also what I love about clothing swaps.
I think it's super sweet that you sometimes dress for others. I never thought about it before, but I guess I do too! My outfit choice changes based on who I am going to see, and sometimes I'll wear a shirt out to dinner I wouldn't normally choose except for my boyfriend likes it :~)
Those shoes are marvelous! Everytime I see nice shoes, it seems like they're Seychelles.
It certainly is nice to dress for others sometimes. Isn't it nice to think of style as a gift of sorts? I certainly try to wear things that my bf or mom buy for me when they're around.
that dress is WONDERFUL :D it might be safe to say it's one of my favorite things you've ever posted! and i think it's very sweet that you and your mother share a love of seashells :)
i also wanted to say thanks for posting about those Bona Drag shoes a few weeks ago! i just posted about how i made a pair if you're curious :D
The new logo is very epic and storybook. There are volumes of stories hidden in that photo, and yet right at the surface. I hope you write it one day.
I'm back blogging, and I've missed you!
It's definitely a fresh change to see those bright colours juxtaposed against the blue of your blazer and shoes! Very good exercise in contrast. You look lovely!
And yes, I agree about presents.
That dress is just gorgeous!
My clothing style is totally different from my mom's but I learned from her to take chances and just to wear what you want and not worrying about what other people might think of you :)
Love the colors in that dress!

That dress is perfection on you!!! The pretty shoulder detail and the way it moves from yellow to orange is sooo sweet!...and it compliments you so well - was it made for you in an alternate universe perhaps? :)
Looooveeee those Seychelles! I worked at a buy sell trade store and they came in so many times but NEVER in my size! Such a bummer. But they look adorable on you!

I like the sheerish brown tights with the strappy platforms. I saw a picture of Clemence Poesy doing something similar and find it rather elegant in quirky fashion.
Gorgeous outfit! And you're right, there's something deeply sweet and satisfying about dressing up for others...

You have the best poses & the best pictures! Even though you repeat quite often, it ALWAYS looks different. I love that about you.
amazing shoes! I love them.
I think both my mother and my grandmother have great taste/style. that's probably had an effect on my own style, I am sure, even though my taste is a little avant-garde for them sometimes.
This is a wonderful outfit, well done! I love how, boho, whimsical yet very put together it all is and the jacket is a hot option.
