Ahhhh the first one, with spike studs?! Like an accident waiting to happen, so intriguing... I want it. I just need to find myself a minimalist room now.

I love the cream one with the red lips! But they're all so lovely. My grandmother had a set that my sister and I always played with...but they were nothing like these:)

Re: Yes, lace is beautiful. I really don't know how to get my hands on the perfect piece, maybe I'll have to make it myself. However, I know lace is hard to work with, so I guess I just have to keep looking! =)

The one wit studs are so fierce.

My friend and I were just checking out some Matryoshka dolls the other day. I was remembering a lovely set I had as a little girl, but sadly lost somehow. I really like the concept behind these! The second one down with the shapes and patterns is really pleasing to look at.

saw them, loved them. my favorites are the Giles and Margiela ones.

Rosie Unknown said...

I used to have a normal one, which I wish I still had, because it would be totally awesome if I painted over the original paint!

Diana said...

the first one is great. the doll represents such a specific culture and to see her with spikes is cool :)

Lindsay said...

i've always wanted to start a collection of nesting dolls.

For a very very young age i have loved russian dolls and I want each and every one of these!

kuhlchikk said...

hello sweetheart!! They are great!! but if you want the right name for them than say Matroshka to them, this is the real russian name.
babushka is grandmother in russian!!

thank you for the post!! love them!!

Rebecca, The Clothes Horse said...

@Kuhlchikk,
Thanks, but I actually knew that. I refer to them as Matroshka dolls in the post--the title was more of a reference to their history/classicness rather than a literal name for them...
