The Wanting Comes In Waves

I wish that I could dance across these cold waves,
To reach that place where the ocean reaches the sky,
And with full heart bid goodbye to the day.
Then, with open arms to welcome the night,
Saying farewell to the seals and selkie alike,
As the world darkens and fades from sight. --nonsense words by me
Outfit details: dress- H&M, bag- Pull and Bear, shoes- Urban Outfitters, shoe necklace- self made, horse charm- Mother's from childhood
My favorite time of year is a long, lingering summer evening. When the sun has set and the balmy air begins to cool my limbs stir with restless energy and I seek occupation to make use of this beautiful time. Lately, I have indulged in small games of badminton on our family's tiny square of grass.
Outfit details: shirt- In4mation, shorts- customized J Crew pants, shoes- Urban Outfitters

Have you ever seen "The Secret of Roan Inish"? It's one of my favorite movies and your poem and the first set of pictures are SO similar. You should definately find it and watch it. I'd love to hear what you think of it.

Oh I love the blue tone of these photos, so pretty and so perfect for your description of the hazy summer evenings. Crisp summer mornings and hazy evenings are my favourite parts of the day in the summer months too.

I'm a big fan of summer evenings, too. I love going on walks just as it's getting dark or eating a late dinner outside with my family.

these are some of your most gorgeous photos yet -- I adore the blue tones of the first set, and the water is so perfectly tranquil.

is your post title a Decemberists reference? if so, HURRAH! I was listening to that song about five minutes ago.

wonderful color!
I adore badminton. So much fun. I also used to play with my brother in our backyard, which was not big enough or well-equipped for such games. The birdie usually ended up in a tree or in one of the neighbor's pools. It looks like you have a better area to play in though!

What lovely photographs! They look like some of my grandmother's vacation photos. The dress looks great on you.
And oh, how I adore badminton. Whenever I play, I am unable to resist the urge to adopt an English accent. It just seems appropriate, I guess.
