Great minds think alike - i've been meaning to feature these on my blog for ages! I love these photos - and yes I did dream of being a ballerina when I was little! ;)

Wow, these photos are gorgeous! Really brings me back to my dancing days. My feet hurt just thinking about it, but I miss it so much! Sigh.

Pretty, pretty pictures.
As much as I love the aesthetics of ballet, I find the actual work behind the art too harsh. Pre-teen ballerinas have to be tougher - physically and emotionally - than grown footballers in order to succeed in such a competitive world. And I'm always left wondering: should I admire them or feel sorry for them?

These pictures are so lovely! I took ballet when I was 4 or 5 - unfortunately it wasn't so magical for me... :)

Oh my goodness! I've never wanted to actually be a ballerina, but I think I would love everything about it except for the dancing part. The costumes are always stunning. Now I want to go backstage. I have a feeling that during a show, it's a bit busier than this, though.

Ah yes, I have always had a fascination with ballerinas, as exemplified by a very very old post:

ah, tutus & tulle dresses....I stayed in ballet for a few years with hopes of wearing them. I never got far enough to wear them before I quit, apparently. =(

Oh, those photos are lovely. I have always dreamt of dancing, of being a ballerina but all I got to be was a gymnast in my childhood.
Great photos, the mood is very well depicted.

Oh don't start on the Cherry Blossom girl's blog, her photos of Tokyo make me swoon! ahh. She really did take some awesome photos.

The pictures are gorgeous! I've always been intrigued by the shenanigans that go on backstage before the curtain rises. Good times, and fond (if fuzzy) memories.

My dream was being a stage actress rather than a ballerina. Although I love love loved Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfield when I was little. I never ever got past the floor exercises and skipping stage of my ballet class though.

In the first photo, she is so perfect.

I sure did want to be a ballerina when I grew up, but my parents never put me in ballet lessons when i was young, so it's too late now. Every so often I'll bring it up and blame them for not letting me follow my childhood dream of being a ballerina.

Oh goodness, every girl's childhood dream.
