Halcyon Summer Hopes

"Not from successful love alone,
Nor wealth, nor honor'd middle age, nor victories of politics or war;
But as life wanes, and all the turbulent passions calm,
As gorgeous, vapory, silent hues cover the evening sky,
As softness, fulness, rest, suffuse the frame, like freshier, balmier air,
As the days take on a mellower light, and the apple at last hangs
really finish'd and indolent-ripe on the tree,
Then for the teeming quietest, happiest days of all!
The brooding and blissful halcyon days!
" -Walt Whitman

These could have been shot on my college campus. Photographer Corrie Bond.

Whitman is one of my favorite poets. He has such a way with words. "Gorgeous, vapory, silent hues"--perfection.

I love the light in these pictures. Vapory, perhaps.

Hmmm gorgeous photos. I wish the weather was like that now instead of pouring down with torrential rain.

Your tennis experience sounds awful! I get too scared that the balls will hit me too which obviously doesn't help my poor tennis skills!

Look like they were shot for Anthropologie, whose catalogues I horde...

Just for the artistry, really. I don't read fashion mags anymore. Magazines are not green. ^_^

I do love the pastoral and fashion amalgamation, though...

I've been feeling very uninspired lately - both fashion-wise and photography-wise. These are changing all of that! And yes, they do look like they could have been taken in eastern PA. Love that.

The third shot is so stunning. The dress looks amazing, and I really do love the way you can see her leg through it on the bottom third. And I want a little briefcase/suitcase like that!
