The Wildfox Couture lookbook for Summer 2009, titled "When I Grow Up (I Can Do Whatever I Want)," looks like a guide to bringing out your inner hipsterdom...
I don't know... there are some pics that I like, but I think the whole campaign is really hateful... I'm a bit tired of that sacralized teen superficiality... and Cobra Snake and all that stereotyped stuff...
I wish this is what hipsterdom looked like. My experiences are a bit different.
In my neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn (hipster capital USA) it looks a lot like hair grease, crotch patches, overpriced cheap cocaine, trust funds, those headbands that you wear like a crown, chest and/or neck tats, and track bikes.
Oh also the #1 rule of being a hipster is to adamantly deny that you are a hipster!
So cool! I love looking at lookbooks to admire the styling. The highheels with the lace socks at the end are very nice! I missed out on a couple of your posts so I'm catching up right now! xxoxoxoxoxoxox
i secretly love hipsters, in all thier pretensious glory. the second shot is my favorite, the styling is so dramatic. -indigo ps. you're right. "there are powerlines in our bloodlines" is from the Engine Driver by the Decemberists
