The Lost Girl

"She felt she was quite, quite lost. She had gone out of the world, over the border, into some place of mystery...she was cut off from everything she belonged to. Ovid isolated in Thrace might well lament. The soul itself needs its own mysterious nourishment." -D. H. Lawrence, The Lost Girl
The novels of D. H. Lawrence always manage to leave me in a state of befuddlement. It is not that I do not comprehend his words or message, but perhaps the message is so alien and unwelcome my mind wishes to reject it. I associate too much with the main character and then am unpleasantly surprised by her fate.

i love the first dress, the colourful one! it is amazing!

now, something totally different: i'm planning to buy a new laptop very soon, and i think i saw on some picture a while ago that you had one by dell? if i'm right about that, are you happy with it, and which of their models is it? and, did you paint directly on it or did you use some foil between so you can remove the paint?
thank you so much for answering all those questions!

DH Lawrence! Of Lady Chatterly's Lover! I haven't read his work, but i have heard of that (in)famous book. I'm curious to read him though... Oh and I wish I lived near a Zara too! I visited on in Greece (and Pull and Bear and Bershka!) and I fell in love.

Btw it's supposed to be EIGHTY degrees where I am in PA, I hope it's just as warm where you are. I'm pretty excited for the super warm weather. =)

Manja said...

That ASOS dress is great! The pattern kinda reminds me of the pattern of the dress I made - but the cut of yours is a lot nicer :)

That ASOS dress is just perfect! Classy and ladylike but in a very happy, colorful way.
Oh, and note to self: Must read more books! For the time being it's all about architecture stuff and starting to get monotonous.

Love the second skirt!

DH Lawrence always leaves me a bit confused. Every time I finish one of his novels I saw 'that's it, I give up on him!' but usually find myself picking up another of his books soon :P

The saturation and the contrast of the prints and designs of the food packaging is a great counterpoint to your darker garb. You always compose your shots so well.

And you make working in a grocery look so cute and fun! When I worked at my local college grocery, we weren't allowed to experiment with fashion... we had to stick to a strict dress code... go figure, little Christian school which made the town, and all!
