The Bronx Is Up And The Battery's Down

Thursday night I received a phone call from a friend offering me a free round trip bus ride up to New York City on Saturday if I was interested. Of course I was interested and the next thing I knew I was trading in my usual lazy Saturday routine to board a bus at 7:30 am. What follows now is a picture from nearly every hour of my Saturday.
7:30am- Our chariot.
8:30am- It was a gray day that threatened to rain.
9:30am- A detail shot--a waitress informed me recently that my Made Her Think ring looks dangerous.
10:30am- We arrived and I decided to leave my reading material in the bus.
11:30am- In Times Square everyone acts like a tourist.
12:30pm- We had lunch at the famous Ellen's Stardust Diner, where the waiters sing and dream of getting to Broadway.
1:30pm- My friend snapped my outfit shots for me in Central Park.
2:30pm- We went to the John Lennon Strawberry Fields memorial in Central Park.
3:30pm- We spent a lot of time in Central Park because it ended up being a lovely day.
4:30pm- My wonderful friend who is passionate about New York City acted as our tour guide for most of the day.
5:30pm- Visited FAO Schwarz
6:30pm- Tried on clothes in Zara and H&M.
7:30pm- It was starting to get dark and things were beginning to light up.
8:30pm- We got back on the bus and headed home.

I love the picture an hour concept. I used to do "a day in the life" photoblogs for a while. My problem isn't taking the photos, it's bothering to upload them later.

Makes me miss NYC. I need to do a weekend trip there once it warms up!

Ah, good ole NYC. Love it! Looks like you had a lot of fun!

Gorgeous pictures :)

I really love your blog!

Would you like to exchange links with me?

Its basically a blog about how I, a 15 year old Londoner, am making it into the fashion industry (hopefully) and all the outfits and thoughts along the way!

Awesome trip! I wish I lived close-enough to a nice city to spend daytrips there - even Seattle is a bit too far for that (though I have gone there for the day and come back - gotta go shopping at Alderwood Mall!). I mean, I guess I do live in a nice city but it's still just MY city, you know?

wow really?? No way! that's so cool! Normally I'd think ANTM wouldn't start off models too well, I mean you hardly see any of them on the runway and such...well that proves me wrong :-) Sweet.

I go to NYC in a couple months, this has gotten me so excited! Do you know where you're going after you graduate? Staying in Pennsylvania or moving somewhere exciting?

I certainly don't know what I'm doing...

These are fantastic photos - I always adore your "photo an hour" series.

I really love your outfit here. The grey vest with the peachy color of your dress is an unexpected color combination but oh, it works so magnificently!

I'm also jealous of the fact that you can go to NYC on a whim. Stupid California.

I love a day in NYC, even if the day is gray, there's so much to do and see, you cannot possibly let it ruin it!
ooh and Rudyard Kipling...I read Jungle Book in fifth grade and was not a fan. But I haven't read anything of his lately, so maybe I'll give him a try again... Is Kim good?

@Anonymous,
Sorry, I actually just took a private bus from my college to NYC and walked everywhere from there. But the ride was free for me (and the other students), so it was still a good deal. :)
