Time in Hours, Days, and Years

"I saw Eternity the other night, Like a great ring of pure and endless light,
All calm, as it was bright, And round beneath it, Time in hours, days, years
Driven by the spheres, Like a vast shadow moved, in which the world
And all her trains were hurled..." -Henry Vaughan
Time is slipping through my fingers more swiftly than sands through a pendulum. I can not wait for the arrival of spring and summer and yet, I dread their arrival. Summer signifies the end of my college years and the beginning of the great unknown into which I shall be hurled...
Outfit details: sweater- Gap, dress- H&M, scarf- secondhand, tights- Walmart, shoes- H&M, coat- H&M
When I was putting together this remix of my yellow AAskirt all I could notice was how I was bare-legged in most of the shots...sigh, those dancing days will come again.

The photo of you with the red flower, blue tee and the aa skirt against the tree is probably one of my all-time faves. You look so casual and comfy and adorable. Plus that tree is amazing. I can't wait for bare-legged weather! I hear you on the graduation thing too. I graduated in 07 and job hunting sucks. I'm sure you'll find something though :) Especially in advertising/marketing, there are a lot of jobs, they are just hard to find! (I'm a graphic designer, I work in healthcare marketing).

Oh, I love the remix posts, they're so inspirational!

Graduating college is a scary thing, but you'll land on your feet!

I flopped around for a few months not having a plan, and then sort of stumbled into one. If you're an intelligent and creative person (which you are!) you should have no trouble impressing future employers.

And I love all of the remixes, that skirt is so versatile.

I adore that blue sweater in the first outfit and the blue sweater in the last outfit of your remix set! You look good in blue.

Graduating is very scary, especially for us students who are graduating into a global economic crisis! I agree with Corrie, though. You should have no problem impressing future employers with your creativity and moxie. Besides, it's natural and common for students to flop around a bit after graduation.

Great! I really like the striped dress a lot.

I can hardly wait for summer but I am very anxious, too. This is the last summer before I will leave Europe...I will study abroad for a semester next year and right after that I have to start my internship. Phew.

oh, what a beautiful quote! i definitely feel the rushing sands of time - my days of third year are counting down and, as i won't know whether i'm continuing studying or being hurled into the unknown next year until late June, i'm really feeling the clock ticking...

love that yellow skirt and the scarf as always... the purple of your sweater is so vibrant!

Graduation is scary but exciting at the same time. You never know what's around the corner once you leave school! I'm sure you'll end up doing just fine--more than fine, in fact. :-)

Your scarf looks so fantastic, and I love the striped skirt :) Oooh and that mustard skirt is wonderful, ah how I long for summer to come!

Do not fear - the great unknown can be a lot of fun too.

That said, I REALLY miss my college days. Never thought I would at the time but I did. Life really was a lot more simple then :)

PS adore that one of you in the flowers. Like an editorial! Plus you know I love yellow !!!!

Oh my goodness, I ADORE that green jacket! It's the perfect pop of color against the blue and white. Happy Friday :-)

PPS it took me years to finally get a great job after graduating. I don't mean that as to scare you but just so you know, EVERYONE in your boat is going to be doing the same. FLitting from here to there, doing this and that and MOST of the time, doing something comepletely unrelated to your degree. But you will get there - or you will find something else you will love even more!

Just remember, you may feel pressure to get a fab job right away but don't fret. It's not actually expected and rarely happens. Things happen naturally :)

amazing skirt and wow the vast unknown sounds scary, but liberating and fantastic, which is ironic b/c i'm only a college freshman

Right there with you! Except I finish grad school next year, and that's when I have to Find A Grown-Up Job. Thinking about it freaks me out all over the place..

But anyway, your pictures are always so beautiful! They provide a wonderful distraction and never fail to make me happy. :)

I know what you mean. Finishing college is scary because you feel like you need to make the right choice. I also really love your item montages. They're super inspiring.

I have that AA skirt in charcoal! I like the mustard sooo much better though!

@Nadia, seriously? First off, a Lolita is a young girl wise beyond her years--not a girl who is resisting growing up--that would be a Peter Pan. Since I'm 22 I can hardly be considered a Lolita and have no desire to be seen as a Peter Pan either. Further, I find your suggestion of becoming "dateline bait" highly offensive. Thanks for suggesting I waste my college degree and degrade myself.

Meanwhile, my bare-legged days are coming to an end soonish. You sound a little anxious. I was forced out into the great unknown about a year ago - it's not so bad! It helps to have a job and focus lined up. That alleviates a lot of the anxiety.

ZombieLace said...

Definitely a versatile skirt! I think I have a similar one in blue so I will certainly be stealing some of these looks to freshen it up :~) Also, I am in the same boat as you are with the vast unknown. As much as I want spring and summer, I know that they will unavoidably be bringing all the deadlines and due dates of the semester, not to mention the "overwhelming question" to quote T.S. Eliot. (P.S. I love the little literary accents you include in your blog from time to time).

I love every time you wear that H&M striped dress. It's such a great layering piece. Don't fret about the future, all will work itself out!
