Splashes Of Yellow

I want begin by to thanking everyone who left words of encouragement on my drawings yesterday...the shop idea has been a thought in my head for awhile now and I'm on the path to taking it more seriously...
This is my favorite sweatshirt in the whole wide world and I got it passed down to me from an older sister--I was never a girl scout. The sweatshirt always catches people's eyes and I tend to get a lot of questions about it...basically there was a unit of girl scouts in Nurnberg at one time. Outside of nostalgia I really like the colors and graphic qualities of the design...makes me want to create a personal shield of arms.
Outfit details: sweatshirt- from childhood, tights- gift, shoes- H&M, coat- H&M, gloves- H&M
I tend to have subconscious themes running through my outfits on concurrent days. Lately it appears I am drawn to mustard yellow; I think I would like more mustard yellow in my life.
Outfit details: dress- Urban Outfitters, cardigan- H&M, tights- gift, socks- Thank You Mart, gloves- Karmaloop, shoes- H&M, bag- some shop in Japan

Wow I just saw those drawings, and WOW! Yes I would buy those drawings, and ooh I love that necklace, I have one just like it from Holland but never wear it..

You wear yellow so well, especially mustard yellow. I'll admit that I'm a little intimidated by it, but maybe I'll start out small with a scarf ;) Your necklace is adorable! Did you get it in Holland?

Also, your doodles in the post below are fabulous! The second one is just lovely. I love how you included her hands amidst all the designs on her dress.

I love the primary colours in the first outfit, and your yellow gloves are lovely - they add such a pop of colour!!

Mustard yellow is a great contrast for red hair. But it washes of your pale skin under your face. A beret would be great and look into tights in that color. Also headbands and/or hair pins.

mustard yellow definitively looks great on you and I love the sweatshirt, it looks very comfy, too

That Girl Scout sweatshirt is SO hardcore! I'd love to have one like that. I have some Girl Scout t-shirts leftover from my childhood, but none of them are nearly as cool as what you've got there!

I like what you've done with your tights in the bottom pictures. The Girl Scouts in NZ sell insanely good Girl Scouts biscuits and trays of lamingtons to fundraise. Bless them!

both outfits are great. love the yellow skirt

that girl scouts sweatshirt is so neat. i love mustard yellow, but i cannot wear it next to my face because it washes me out completely!

awesome gloves! and that sweatshirt is too adorable! i was a girl scout and enjoyed wearing my moms girl scout uniforms from the 1960's to special girl scout events. I always got my picture taken by the news people but I don't think it ever ended up in a paper...

but, i love mustard yellow, its a color i gravitate towards. its in my art, clothes, and even the color of my room at my dads!

Mustard yellow is a nice color, I have a tunic from H&M in about the same color as your skirt and I love to wear it, it's such a happy color. Also, that necklace is very cute!

Yeah I also go through phases with colour - everything I bought last summer seemed to be acid orange!

Love the sweater though, it's always nicer to have retro/vintage with a history and it looks brilliant with the mustard yellow skirt!!

Always thought I hated mustard yellow...might be converted...

Love the gloves! But most of all, love that photo of you in front of the drinks 'fridge'! :)

Actually "A Small Rain" is one of the four of her books I've never read. I guess I'll be stopping at Borders tonight!

Love the girl scout sweater! I always wanted to be a girl scout and never got to be one... Sad for me :-(

I tried to buy mustard color jeans in the fall. disaster. I love the color but only in small doses (ie: that AA skirt you're wearing which I adore).

I'm feeling all shades of yellow lately. It's sunny!

Hey, do you get self-conscious doing these shots? I totally do when I do mine in public. Hence my pissed off face in most of my blog fashion photos...I'm thinking "what the hell are you looking at, ever seen self-timed photos before???"

Emz said...

Amazing photos as usual =) I am soo jealous you pull off mustard yellow so well- the color just looks really bad against asian skin so it sucks for me but good luck with the Etsy store!

Jen said...

Those gloves are perfect. I really love your photos.

Hot Bot said...

I think we all need more yellow, it's just so happy. And the perfect pop.

Jess said...

Yellow is one of my favorite colors. It's such a happy color, and mustard is really yummy, so the color is too! The sweatshirt is really cool by the way...where did your sister get it? Just curious.

Like the way the socks complement the outfit. *

How do you always look so lovely? I adore the supermarket photos and the jumper you have on in them. Coats of Arms are quite cool, I agree, I'd like to be important enough to have one, how funnn. I really like your japanese bag too, how I yearn for a rucksack that looks like it. xx

I LOVE that sweatshirt! I'm also digging the knee socks on tights. Very cool.
I think a lot of people are intimidated by mustard yellow, but oddly enough, it's quite flattering on most people.

I just saw your drawings and I must say you're a born artist, whether it be in the way you dress or through your doodles.

Btw, I love your sweatshirt. It reminds me of the shirts that a company called Artwork (here in the Philippines) makes. I wanted to show you some pictures, but sadly I couldn't find any.

How conincidental, I'm eating girlscout cookies as I comment. Was your sister a girlscout at Nurnberg?
I did brownies for one year but gave it up. I never understood why I should really want badges. I love your photos in the grocery store, they're so colorful!

I see a lot of green and yellow on you and it looks very good. I have some old sweatshirts that are so difficult to let go. There is one with some awesome graphics that I love wearing all the time. It's amazing how they keep getting more comfortable with time.

Using the grocery store-like refrigerators as a backdrop was really creative. I've never seen it implemented in photos like these before, but I definitely love the way it looks.
