Ephemeral Art

Artist Kotama Bouabane created a series of pictures featuring already melting phrases. A statement on permanence and depth? More here.
Ice hands spelling out "love" or flashing gang symbols takes streetart to the next level. More here.

I love these. Especially the first one with the lemon.

I love it. It makes you realize emotions can be fleeting - like melting ice :)

oh I absolutely love this. love this. I am going to have to study up on her a bit. Sometimes overly styled pics give me the wiles, but these are subtle and understated. LOVE.

I love this blog. You have great posts!

The "I never loved you" one is just so sad... It could melt away and the person would never know.
On the other hand, "just let go" is something everyone needs to hear every once in a while.

well that is just awesome.

makes me wonder what other simple phrases would suddenlly be filled with meaning when done in melting ice in a special setting.

This is such a unique idea. I love the "I never loved you" on the sheets. It's so emblematic of things left unsaid.

I love these. I can't believe the amazing art ideas that people come up with for everyday things like ice.

this is brilliant! though, i would think this would be a statement of impermanence moreso than permanence. the melting ice, to me, insinuates that the feelings/emotions that the artist is trying to convey are likely to change, just as life does. or maybe i'm just reading waaay too much into it.

I love that the phrases, besides being physically transient, are also things that sometimes we wish we would've said, but didn't. I like it when you post art, you always have something that I haven't seen on another blog yet.

Awesome. I love how some people have the magical ability to create art out of things that most people would never think of.

I'm pretty sure no one wants that second photo on the front of their Valentines' day card. It's almost gleeful!

These really are lovely. It's definitely the emotions behind each phrases that make the simple imagery far more beautiful than at first glance.
