Outfit details: jean dress- secondhand, plaid dress- Urban Outfitters, tights- gift, shoes- secondhand, coat- H&M

This is my favorite necklace to wear right now. I bought the pendant from a monastery in Meteora, Greece. It's a little locket in the shape of the book and I put a small strip of paper inside it with my favorite quote of the moment by Whitman, "Behold I do not give lectures, or simple charity, when I give I give myself."

I got tagged...a lot and I ignored most of them, but I'm answering the Stylish Wanderer's summonings with six random things that make me happy:
-seeing my sisters (we don't live anywhere near each other so it's rare)
-books that give me butterflies in the stomach
-surprise gifts that appear on my bed for no reason
-excessively long showers
-waking up to a thin layer of snow that melts away during the day
-going through old boxes and finding things I had forgotten about

beautiful pendant... it's meant to be protecting you too, did u kno. i like how ur green jacket fits most of ur outfits, i want one too. back zip on that dress is my favourite detail. x
The shoes are like fairy tales!
Tucking a quote inside a locket is such a great idea. Thanks for sharing. :)
That beach looks like where I spent my Christmas break! Alas, I am back inland in a wintery, frozen cocoon of snow.
That's a very pretty locket. I love it!
I love rocky beaches and coastlines. Your photos remind me of some of my favorite places to go in coastal New England, especially Maine :)
Your book locket pendant is beautiful. I have an antique one I found at a flea market. I'll try to remember to include it in a post one of these days!
I love this dress of yours. It really pops against the background.
Your pendant is beautiful and I'd like to say that your photographs look so much better when you post them in this size, also for your outfit posts,I know that it was your style but you should consider this ok? love ya,
That pink starfish looks like something out of a children book.
You know, most of my generation of greek people, we are a bit snobbish about all that religious paraphernalia our grandmothers usually buy and ask us to "wear all the time so the God will protect us". But when you see something like that through the eyes of another person, you can really see it as an beautiful object. Thanks
That's pretty much what all the beaches around here look like, too. To be honest, I actually prefer it to the sunshine and volleyball beaches!
I love the denim dress, such a lovely shape! I like the idea of putting a quote in a locket too, a bit more original than the standard photos or leaving it empty. Char x
Gorgeous pendant and what a sweet idea with the quote. I also love that first photo with the big starfish and your shoes!
I adore the lighting and scenery in these pictures! It immediately reminded me of The Secret of Roan Inish, especially in the third picture.
Gorgeous pictures. I really like that quote.
Nature is so beautiful and so peaceful.. i adore the scenery, i hope I was there!! and your outfit is rocking! love your necklace
That pendant is wonderful! I've been wanting to do a birdcage pendant for quite a while, but I'm lacking the inspiration to make it fabulous....
I have never seen snow, I have never seen a living starfish and I'm now feeling a little hollow because I'm becoming more aware of the things I'm missing... I've lived almost 20 years and there's so much I didn't see and live... Oh, well... I can't help but get random when I comment.
Good quote, by the way.

Yes, that's a great quote :)
And living here...I have a completely different idea of the beach as well.
Oh, the coast is so lovely! ...I'm on the other side of the state buried in 70+ inches of snow. :/
Your locket is perfect.
darling that quote is simply beautiful! i am drawn to words hence my love of literature and
poetry.
darling such a sweet dress. Your images remind me that there is beauty in the things that are seemingly perceived as cold/stark.
the beach is stunningly beautiful.sometimes pebble/stone beaches are not as appreciated as sandy beaches but they so should be.

i always remembered the older post about the beach but this one is even lovelier. your six happy things are six of mine too, my butterfly book of the moment is a sylvia plath anthology called "winter trees". i hope you and your sisters had a happy christmas together like i did with my two.
I LOVE those shoes! Amazing x
Mmmm...a long hot shower. I once lived at a flat where the water pressure was like a dribble. I hated it. I agree with you - a sandy beach is where I want to hang out, but a rocky beach might just be the place to do some day dreaming.
i love the colour of your coat- mint green can be so flattering...
as to your comment- its so great to actually have someone who i vaguely 'know' through blogging on modepass, i've only just joined but i love it already :)
Our rocky beaches are definitely my favorite. I love going down to the bay and turning over big rocks and seeing the tiny crabs scuddle around. Also, we have an amazing rock stacker man here who balances the rocks along the beach in amazing ways. He speaks to them, he says. It is both crazy and magical.
The color of those shoes is just gorgeous! I've been to several beaches which are more rocky and have lots of gravel. They're quite fun!
Your pictures are beyond beautiful, and I love the quote-inside-the-locket idea. I've been eyeing lockets off of Luxedeluxe on etsy...it might be time to pull the trigger!
i am not usually drawn to cross jewelry, but your charm is lovely!
nice locket.
love the splash of color your outfit gives to the more neutral sea rock colors... and gorgeous photos
i love to find old things which brings back good old memory.
gorgeous pictures! oh I miss the summer and the sea..
xx
Happy NEw Year! Hope it'll be a good one :)
And I love those pictures.
Great pictures! and your locket especially w/a quote inside of it is really lovely :-)
My favorite dress is back. :)
i'm in the shower wayyy too long. ohh i love the beach! ♥ and your blog too. haha. :]
I have a box on a string that has a quote from 'The Littlest Prince". Something about the most important things are invisible or something along those lines.
I like any kind of beach, they all have potential for drama and romance. Your little necklace is adorable.
The first beach I ever encountered happened to be overseas rather than here in the states where I live. It was in Portugal during the summer and was the most freezing cold water I had ever had the opportunity to stick my little toes in. Needless to say, I enjoyed it from afar instead.
I love it when the weather is cold and stark and grey and brown. Late fall is my favorite time of year.
love your shoes and the photos are beautiful, I love the scenery change. and I love books that give me butterflies, I haven't read one of those in awhile :(
looks absolutely wonderful..!
the first image is just breathtaking..
and yeah finding things that have been forgotten are the best!
Oh I love these beach photos.
thanks for taking part in my tag!
I fell in love with your blog *.*
Wow. Those photos are amazing!
Ah yes, the joy of opening old boxes of forgotten memories. This happened to me just this morning :)
Beautiful post! Your photos are neutral and rich and so gorgeous. And your little blue dress looks so nice on the beach. I can't wait to move there, assuming my life goes according to plan!
beautiful pictures of the beach..=) and i love the locket and your outfit as well
i lurve beach pics!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that dress. These pictures are great. There's something so perfect about the composition--they feel candid.
These pictures are gorgeous! I love your dress too.
Love the starfish! I think I've found one of them on the beach only once and many years ago... So sad, like fireflies and dragonflies, shells too are almost disappeared from beaches here. 20 years ago there were plenty of them...
The dress is totally awesome. I really adore the first photo & the photo of the bare tree! Ahhh
stunning stunning photos
The picture with the starfish is just incredible! I love the blue dress, it has such a wonderful shape!
i love your dress! perfect outfit to the beach!
and yes, thin layer of snow in the morning makes me get out of bed a lot faster than i usually do!
thanks a lot !
you always post so amazing photos !
you're soo good at taking photos!
do you take them yourself all the time???
the pendant is really beautiful. and i'm jealous, you live in such a beautiful place.
nooo! i hate stony beaches! they always remind me of a school trip i went on where it was so cold i think my ears almost bled!!
i love finding forgotten things! especially when i put clothes up in the loft and get them back down a year later! x
Oh wow that pendant is beautiful! I totally agree, I hoarde little memories and box them away, and every so often I like sitting down and going through those boxes again. And I always feel cheated when I go to stony beaches!
ADORABLE! :o)
The first picture is awesome - so is the light blue dress.
what lovely photographs
that starfish looks incredible, like a page out of national geographic
and that whitman quote is a favourite
happy 09!
*kisses*
beautiful pics...especially of the starfish!
Great pictures, the water looks beautiful.
Seeing your pictures have made me long to encounter stony beaches - you are right, they too have a beauty of their own.
Beautiful pictures: starfish, the lacy tree-branches, and the beautiful book locket...
I always love the composition of your photos. I especially love this set. Kind of portrays a beautiful sadness of sort.
Beautiful images.
Question: Do you take your shots urself, with a tripod or something or is there someone with you?
They look so natural that it would be breaking a spell if you told me that a tripod's holding the camera...
you are such a photographer.
I'm in love with the first picture, the starfish, your shoes & the colors it's just perfect.. Sweet necklace, i like the idea of putting something in it !
Those photos from the beach are stunning, I love going to beaches in the non-summer months. The one of the starfish is amazing.
so adorable.
x
I love that dress. It's a cute, feminine shape.
Very lovely pictures!
Yeah after living in hawaii the beaches of washington seem a bit lackluster. It just drives me nuts that I can't hear the sounds of the waves. To me it just feels like a salt water lake and not a true ocean.
