Outside of all this, when the weather stays grey and cold (in this part of the world) we need to bring some colorful illustrations to ourselves from other sources. For me, it is coming from the aptly titled editorial "Colour Story," photographed by Miles Aldridge and featuring the lovely Hye Park. I found this Chinese Vogue editorial from 2006 through foto_decadent.

whoa, these are beautiful. they look like candy.
gorgeous photographs. i totally agree, i respond very well to colour, and hardly ever wear black!!
and to answer your question: i have a very verrrry long list of vintage websites! i always save the link if i stumble across a new one. i'll have to do a post of all the links! x
Gorgeous spread, what a treat - I'm wearing COLOUR every day this week - a splash on my feet today, all out spring tomorrow, and will post the outfits by end of week.
Though I love grey, it can certainly be overload when the weather is grey too. I think bright or sumptuous colors can really brighten your mood. Just now I get a kick out of looking at my pink satin flats!
Those bright colors really pop against their white skin. Incredible photos, indeed.
I can see why you are fascinated, and the editorial is so beautiful! A few years ago, I read about the colour business; the company that had the right to so, so many of the colours we are able to imagine. It was quite fascinating, too bad I cannot find it again :)

Lovely pictures! The colors are amazing..
Wow! This is the first time I see a chinese Vogue editorial, and the models are so stunning. I like the old feel the pictures have.
I'm so with you. Colours rule!
'Decadent' sums up those photos perfectly. Oh my, they're stunning. You should watch the film 'Les parapluies de Cherbourg' if you haven't - it's a great film for a 'color fan' as you put it! I adore colour on clothes and love seeing how you wear it, whilst personally veering towards grey... I vote that grey is still a legitimate colour! x
I love colour! It can completely change your mood, and often other people's too. These photos are just gorgeous! Especially the first one! And the last is just so lux...love it!
xx
I like the contrast between the stark white complexion and all of the color.
Wonderful composings!
I often feel that Korean Women are the most beautiful of all in this world...
But I can be glad that most women are beautiful in their own way, no matter what they look like, solely because they are women.
I love these shots.. but I don't know how i feel about the bluish wash of the skin in contrast with such rich, saturated hues.
wow those photos are incredible! the colors just look so delicious. yum... HAHAHAH
those pictures are gorgeous. and just what i needed on such a cold day!
SO GORGEOUS!! xo
color theory is so interesting. i find myself more drawn toward bright colors and prints in the colder months, as it always uplifts my mood. xo.
That is one great spread, and colors fascinate me as well!
Wow what an editorial, gorgeously sumptuous colours. I adore the lilac nails in the pink photo. The white make up is stunning against the colour.
Wellingtonians have a love affair with black and neutral colours. I think it comes from the fact that it's the capital and there's a lot of public servants around. I dislike it. Black is always such a cop-out for me.
incredible pictures! love the first one the most, it's striking!
love these photos, they're stunning!
These photos are amazing!
I loved this ed, Hye Park looks gorgeous on it
Beautiful editorial. Have you looked at Josef Albers' color studies? Also, Rothko did great things with color.
i love all things solourful and these are just an amazing editorial
You always dig up some of the most gorgeous photos I've ever seen! This editorial doesn't disappoint!
These photos are so beautiful, thanks for sharing. I want that red and green dress!
Color theory really interests me, too. That first picture is soooo beautiful.
it is such a great idea to buy japanese or chinese vogue, for the pictures only. i'll have to do that next time i buy a fashion magazine..
thanks for linking!
love the geisha look
The makeup is so interesting. Ah I fiind myself getting magazines I don't understand just for the photos too.
I love the chartreuse/light blue combination, it'd look awesome in an outfit.
Those photos are amazing! I love how her paleness stands out against the colors!
She is beautiful!
Love the photos and the colors.
those colours are such a contrast to their skin. and the colour theory tself is interesting
Chinese Vogue <3
I just realized now that you are in W. DC. I can imagine how is everything there! so cool!
love the "highlights", you are fantastic!
I understand, I can't live without colors! Even when it's all black and white I must add that lil pich of red.
I saw The Thin Man! And yes, I liked it ;-)
bloody gorgeous.
chinoiserie can be really pretty, and i cant believe the saturation of color like that enhances it even more!
cheers!

I'm a true fan of colour as well!
And I tatoally agree with you; we all need some extra colours when the weather is this grey!
Gawd these photos are stunning, CH!

Gorgeous, the colours are strange and beautiful at the same time.
amazing shots. ive always found myself drawn to intense colour myself, my room kind of looks like these pictures actually. i love it but some people think its a bit much.
im also SO fascinated by colour synesthesia. its amazing (i wish i was one) i saw this crazy documentary about this 'savant' named Daniel Tammet is a genious and also has synesthesia (and unlike most 'savants' he is able to communicate normaly and has actually taught himself a bunch of languages as well). i forget the exact name of the documentary but it has really cool visuals and its just really interesting to learn about...haha wow totally not fashon related but im a total neard when it comes to this kind of stuff and i thought maybe youd find it interesting as well
thank you honey :)
beautiful photos!!
xx
their skin is immacualte!!! something i would DIE for!
I love the pictures of you taken out in the nature. Very artistic.
This editorial reminds me of the movie "In The Mood for Love", both are quite lovely.
I feel very similarly about color. Looking at a certain color puts me in a relative mood.
Also, Hitchcock was very particular when it came to using certain colors to evoke mood and symbolic concept. I think it was very apparent in "The Birds".
very beautiful x
i love colors..all of them! n sometimes wearing bright colors makes me feel happier hehe! .. beatidul shoot..
xx-LJ from SOS!
