Minnie Mouse is no doubt a chic animal, but what if she went goth? This might be the inspiration behind Zac Posen's Fall 2008 collection and this girl from Stockholm snapped by the Facehunter.

Both are drawing me back to a hairstyle I used to rock a lot in junior high...those were the days of experimental up-dos!

Outfit details: dress- H&M, sweater- H&M, tights- some shop in Athens Greece, shoes- Urban Outfitters, jacket- Anthropologie

Awhile back I tied in the Weardrobe contest with the alliterative Amelia. The prize was a $50 gift card and I quickly decided to push my comfort level a pick up the black lame leggings. They've arrived in the mail and my verdict: less shiny and frightening than expected and much cosier.

do you remember that season of pro run when allison did her model's hair into a minnie-esque bow? i loved it. i think it got her booted off though. dang.
Oh I love Anthropologie, they do such nice things...I like your Minnie hair style, very cute :))
I love that hairstyle! And those leggings look great with the red shoes.
You look so cute with that hairstyle!
well, we're both in the zac posen groove.
Haha. I like the hair, it's darling. And the leggings look great!
oh you look amazingly charming!!! really splendiferous look!!!!!!!
Both outfits definitely have a hint of "Minnie Mouse gone dark" about them, especially the first. I love those leggings on you!
i also used to wear my hair like this a lot when i was 16! now my hair is too short, but i still like it, especially if the buns have more volume like in the first pictures.
Omigod that hairstyle is adorable on you! Not sure it's all too gothic, but still fabulous!
Oh and loving the dance moves ;) x
hehe Minnie mouse is cute! Also you have been tagged ;)!have a nice day!
Love Minnie Mouse! And you look absolutely adorable with the Minnie Mouse do ;)
I keep seeing Mickey/Minnie mouse everywhere- especially as H&M have them printed on a few things at the moment. Love that jacket and that dress but my, you make me want to buy some of those AA leggings too! You look great.
i love your outfit with the black dress, you look gorgeous! and i love the tights you are wearing!
x
Hahaha! You remind me of Sailormoon/Usagi XD
Buns are so cute!
I've frequently told my husband that I long for "hair that looks like ears." He just ignores me.
oh lady! so playful. its adorable.
the room you are in for the last set of pictures is incredibly mysterious.
i love that hair but mine never stays up right when i do it :(
Aww you look adorable as always! I bought a pair of the lame leggings but the ones with the shiny sparkles on them because I didn't feel that the regular ones gave the effect I wanted. They were worth every penny I love em !
'Minnie Mouse' hair art (and hair art in general) is always amazing, Lady Gaga's been sporting a similar do ...
Btw - in that case you have excellent haste in gloves, and your dad knows how to choose a good hat!
x
Really liking those leggings - they look very classy/rock n' roll in one.
I wish I could do things with my hair. I am and always will be inept at that.
I rocked those buns SO hard in third grade. Inspiration from Baby Spice maybe? I don't think I could make them as chic as you do at this age though. Impressive to the max!
I'm seeing Minnie everywhere these days, quite a bold look to flaunt I think. But when put together right it looks so kooky and cool. I have the lame leggings in silver they are soo comfy :) xx
you are rocking the minnie mouse hair. I wonder if I could pull that off? hmm...
I actually like those leggings a lot too.
My sister and I used to wear our hair like that too!! It looks great on you, love the black dress in the first few pictures!
Cool hairstyle!! :)
By the way, you've been tagged!! Go to my page for the game! :D
Love the leggings! I think I need to push my clothing comfort level a little too...
Cute hair-do. It reminds me of Sailor Moon :)
In response to the comment you left me: I enjoy Art Nouveau architecture. This building is a beauty. Did you happen to see it while you were in Budapest?
I remember the days of experimental updos! I just wish I could pull off this look at work, but it would make me look ten years old.
I love the way you styled those leggings!
buns are the best h'do! buffalo plaid's the best pattern. buffalo buns = fun.
OMGosh that first pic! love it!
you look beyond cute in the last pic!
kisses :)
love the leggings! i like how they're shiny and kinda rock without looking cheap. love the blog

that black dress is SUPER SUPER CUTE! i want!! =)
and i love those leggings on you you look amazing!! =)
i love what you've done with your hair, super cute
A Goth Minnie! Now that's an interesting thought. I have often given much thought to the darker sides of popular children's characters. But a sartorial twist like this is welcome.
You make a very cute Minnie! Those leggings are awesome, and I love the checkered skirt.
adore it
Back in the days when I read American Girl magazine, I totally wanted that hair style--but I've always been a complete failure at doing anything interesting with my hair, so my desire is unfulfilled. The Zac Posen models really pulled it off. I love the leggings!
i love the minnie mouse hairdo...i wish princess leyla hairdo from starwars returned is so funny and tere is nothing more adorable than funny-cute hair...also love your coat anthropologie rules...the tights are soo stylish...

Minnie is such a badass. She could totally pull of a goth look. :)
I love your hair like this!
Love the Minnie Mouse hair do and Lamé leggings suit you so well!
Cool contrast !

The hair reminds me of Lady Gaga the singer's recent hairdos. :)

haha amazing. this was totally a go-to in grade 8 for me! it reminds me of bjork too (who is also amazzzzing)and raver kids (remember jnco jeans?!)
good job with the leggings, ive been thinking about them for a while too, just to add some texture to outfits, like in lue of black tights or something? i dont think i could do them as pants only or anything lol. i like how you wouldnt really think they fit into your typical style persay but how you made them fit and look great:)
and i am happy that you got the reno 911 thing, i wasnt sure if anyone would.
x

Aw, I used to do my hair like that in high school. I gotta love it.
Soo I finally mixed grey nail polish and I love it. It's great how you can adjust the colour accoring to your mood. I think for spring I might use more white and make it a bit lighet! Thanks for the idea my dear!
Your hair is so cute in these pictures!!

I so used to rock that hairstyle when my hair was long enough (on it's way!). Except mine were lower and not quite so dramatic. Lovely on you!
Nice little bun-balls.
Wait, that sounds gross......
The Minnie hairstyle looks adorable on you!
