That Touch Of Whimsy

I'm back to my hair fancies addiction. Winter really offers the oppurtunity to express your whismy on your legs and your head. Layered and unique stockings transform limbs into quirky storybook characters with personalities all their own. While the necessity to stay warm has led to numerous creations for the head; intent upon more than just locking your body heat in. I'm excited to have so many of my accessories at my disposal, even though a good portion of my wardrobe is locked away in a storage closet in Pennsylvania.

Outfit details: sweater- H&M, dress- Anthropologie, tights- some shop in Athens Greece, shoes- Urban Outfitters, jacket- Gap

Outfit details: dress- Zara, tights- Calzedonia, shoes- Urban Outfitters, turtleneck- H&M, trench- some shop in Japan

You always look so cute!

Some people think winter is boring because you have to cover yourself too much, but I agree with you and I think it's a good chance to express yourself. For example, with lovely tights.

Pretty pretty pretty, as always. I love the decorations in the hair!

I am not used to you posting on US-time. I'm used to your blog posts popping up in the middle of the night, so I can read them when I can't sleep. It's so bizarre to see you post during normal hours, hee hee.

You're very inspiring to me :) I totally wish I could be braver or more experimental with my hair. I wore a hat to work today and I'm still trying to come to terms with it.

Okay, so Im going to get really sentimental and cheesy right now. Brace yourself.

A year ago, on December 7th, so about 9 days ago, I commented on your blog on this post: http://theclothes.blogspot.com/2007/12/posing-skillz.html

I dont know if you remember it, it was a rather cynical comment, but I commented just the same. What followed was me coming BACK to your blog from then on, and then branching out into other ones and finding other favorites. YOU were the one that made me make a blog, and YOU were the one that totally started this obsession with other blogs, including yours. Last christmas, you inspired me to become creative. I created several headbands with fake flowers like you did with the Poinsettia, and was completely in awe of your mirror necklace, and lace snowflake pendant.

This year, I still remember your DIY's and will actually do a poinsettia headband this year, (which I will tell you will be on the blog).

I just wanna say, your blog was the making of some new creative outlet for me. And it all started about a year ago, on your blog, during christmas time. Im so happy the holidays are returning and you returning from greece and posting picttures of your tree. All of your photos are so whimsical and happy, its insane.

So I wanna say thank you, so much, for inspiring me a year ago.

Back to your post,
I LOVE those tights, WANT WANT WANT, and your tree pictures are amazing. Must post my tree SOON.

(hope that wasnt too stalker-y. just had to tell you youre a complete inspiration)

Oh, and the holidays totally make me emotional. All that christmas music gets to me.

i'm pretty sure i say "beautiful" in every comment i leave you ... i dont mean to be repetitive! but that's just what immediately comes to mind.

You look so sad. Your experience shows how bad ripples out and affects innocent people. It takes much good to counteract the bad in this world, but good will ultimately prevail.

I think it's interesting how you found a wall for your background that is reminiscent of your travels. The second set couldn't be more comforting with its images of home and safety and peace.

Oh, you bought the Zara dress! I saw it when being in Lisbon and was wondering whether you've done it or not. It's funny, to walk in to a shop and see an item somebody at the other end of the world has talked about at Chictopia...Anyway, it's a pretty dress and you've made a good choice.
