Call Me A Liar

I'm becoming a fickle and contrary person (I will blame Nasha as being a bad influence, since she is such an easy target...), but I have decided to eschew my pursuit of all-black ensembles. The non-color black will of course remain a presence in my wardrobe, but right now the graphic combinations with bright colors has become increasingly appealing.
Outfit details: jacket- H&M, dress- H&M, shoes- Urban Outfitters, bag- Ruche
Inspiration has been my (lover) Christian Lacroix and this post about this beauty.
P.S. My camera has utterly given up on life. Svana (as was her name) has been a long-suffering creature, but can take my lifestyle no longer. I am now forced to depend on friends' kindess, cameras, and listening skills (I'm a very demanding model, as I like to compose every shot myself). So, we shall see how my photographs alter or remain the same...
Outfit details: jacket- Urban Outfitters, sweater- Banana Republic Outlet, socks- Thank You Mart, shoes- Urban Outfitters, bag- Pull and Bear

I love you in colour & graphics, and these shots are incredible! I am too self-conscious to let anyone take a picture of me, and so I truly admire not only your incredible creativity & photographic talent (the composition, colour contrasts, angles, everything!) but also your 'modelling skills', I have much to aspire to! :)

You look darling, as always. Both outfits are great, but I especially love the second. You put things together SO well, you really have such a good eye.

I crave color. As soon as I put on black I fear I look dead. I was so excited (and this sounds so dorky!) when J. Crew's fall/winter catalog this year featured bright, bold hues.

I'm sorry to hear your camera isn't feeling well, but the shots from your friend are great. :)

I'm very sorry about your camera, you must feel lost without her!

Great outfits as always - Its really hard to stick with all black if thats not your natural instinct. I can't do it myself I always have to throw in a tiny bit of colour even if its just a scarf or earrings! But I love these outfits. You're so lucky its warm enough to go with bare legs - its freezing here!

Oh and it was great to hear from Nasha again in the last post. She's the coolest (and only) labbit I know!

I love both outfits--the patterns are nice. The composition of the last picture is wonderful. I wish I had the nerve to ask anyone to take my pictures.

Hah! Look at you so popular with an AA sidebar and all! I am liking colors too, I feel like winter is dark enough, no need to help it along. Though I do get the occasional black mood...

Very cute.I like the cardigan in the 2nd outfit.

I love the little green jacket.

Sorry about your camera, hope things will work out. Also looking forward to seeing your non-black outfits. I made the same ultimatum a while ago, but it's so hard to keep :)

I love both the patterns! Especially paired with the green jacket in the first picture.

I can't say I am sad about your giving up on all-black ensembles. While I like them, especially yours, color is awesome.

Miss Karen said...

I love the contrast between your photos here - I definitely love a splash of colour (and your jacket is the BEST shade of green!) but sometimes I too get drawn into the dark side.

Aw RIP Svana.

I KNEW you weren't cut out for the dark side ;)

i'm going through the phase where all the grown ups are telling me to pick my future. the sad part is, i have no idea where i'd like to go for university. i'd like to know your take on studying abroad. what's it been like for you? would you say that it would be worth it? you know, all that jazz.

on a sidenote, that skirt is wonderful! also, the photos are amazing -as per usual-

You've done such a great job mixing and matching while in Greece.

I love both that skirt and that dress and the green jacket!

Sweet dress in the first set of photos. Is that a recent purchase from H&M? I've been on the lookout for something like it!

I feel for you in the camera department. Mine got all crazy and decided not to work properly anymore not too long ago. Having to rely on others isn't always so fun..

Denishabeybeh said...

i love green!!! and black too.
so nice how you name your favorite stuff. me too actually. my first car's name was Borat. hihihihi.

btw i really enjoy seeing you how you mix and match your wardrobe. you're such an eyecandy. so cute every time.

ps,
my favorite camera is dying too. she's a 5 year old sony cybershot 4.1 megapixels. she takes good pictures. every now and then her screen goes blank. hehe. but i really love her.

TEXTSTYLES said...

the second outfit is just delightful
your mix of colours, graphics and textures is so mature

love the composition of these shots, you're no simple model you're a great director too

*kisses*

You have got to love camera's that have their own mind, even if they don't last forever! Love that green jacket! Really cute!

Brittany Noel said...

I love the boldness of the first outfit contrasted with the subtlety of the second. I think fickleness is acceptable, if not expected, when it comes to clothing decisions.

Annie said...

Love that stripey skirt!

detailsofthefabric said...

that green coat is so pretty! you have the nicest coats and they match your outfits so well... you've made me think about investing in a good coat this xmas =) sorry to hear about your camera though! >< i'm still too self conscious to get my friends to take photos of me. How do you work up the courage? Does it feel awkward at first?

ŞeNaY said...

sorry about your camera and i understand you about composing shots yourself but your photos still look great so dont worry.
i really love your green jacket and dresses!<3<3

donna said...

Wow. I love how you put colors and patterns together. Love the green coat over the black and white checks paired with black and white stripe shoes. Brown and green plus black and white stripes = wow! Plus the total form of the shots are beautiful. I'm linking you, is that okay? Thanks!

Love this look! Simplistic chic is back. Sigh just wish it wasn't so cold here in Montreal so I could fashion myself like that too. Fall was here for the shortest time this year. Love your ballerina hair style!

i love the two black and white patterns combo!

Miss Woo said...

I love the all black post, but bright colours are ace too. For some reason I always associate colours as your signature style :)

Svana has served you well. Hope you'll be able to get a new camera soon. But you must be a very good director and have very good listeners for friends--the composition and shots are perfect, as usual.

I love that second outfit--the olive socks and the yellow bag add a subtle dash of color, and the print on the skirt really stand out.
